OIL OF GROWTH DEVOTIONAL

THURSDAY, MAY 28
TOPIC: TAKING ACTION TOWARD PURPOSE
TEXT: DEUTERONOMY 2:31
“The Lord said to me, "See, I have begun to deliver Sihon and his country over to you. Now begin to conquer and possess his land."

In God’s divine strategy for His people, He declares success and grants the grace to occupy new territories long before the battle begins. When God establishes a covenant, no enemy—no matter how formidable—can withstand His people. Even the greatest strongholds are forced to bow. We see this when great kings like Sihon were delivered into the hands of the Israelites, who were a relatively small nation. This is the undeniable power of God at work.

However, we must understand a vital principle: even though God delivers the victory into your hands, you cannot remain passive. Divine delivery requires human cooperation. When the Lord told Israel He had delivered Sihon, He immediately commanded two specific actions:
1. Conquer: This represents the effort and the "fight." You must actively confront the challenges standing between you and the promise.
2. Possess: This means taking ownership and dwelling in the territory. After the victory is won, you must step in and manage what God has given you.

There are countless promises in Scripture waiting to be claimed. To enjoy them, prayer must be coupled with movement. You cannot pray alone and expect a harvest without sowing; you must take physical, bold actions. Do not let passivity deny you the blessings God has already released. Learn the wisdom of "faith in motion" today.

Prayer: Father, I thank You for the victories You have already won for me. I receive the grace and boldness today to move beyond prayer into purposeful action. Help me to conquer and possess all that You have destined for me, in Jesus’ name. Amen.

OIL OF GROWTH DEVOTIONAL

WEDNESDAY, MAY 27
TOPIC: PRECIOUS IN HIS SIGHT
TEXT: MATTHEW 19:14
“Jesus said, 'Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.'”

Children’s Day is a beautiful reminder that in the eyes of God, children are not "second-class" citizens of the Kingdom. In a world that often prioritizes power, wealth, and status, Jesus did the opposite. He stopped His busy schedule to embrace children, rebuking even His disciples who thought the little ones were a distraction.

To every child and every parent celebrating today, there are three truths to hold onto:
1. Children are a Heritage: The Bible describes children as a reward and a heritage from the Lord (Psalm 127:3). They are not burdens or accidents; they are intentional gifts entrusted to us by the Creator.
2. The Gift of Purity: Jesus tells us that the Kingdom belongs to those with the heart of a child. This means having a heart that is trusting, humble, and quick to forgive. We don’t just teach children; we must also learn from their capacity to believe without doubt.
3. A Divine Assignment: For parents and guardians, Children’s Day is a call to "train up a child in the way he should go" (Proverbs 22:6). Our job is to protect their innocence while sharpening their potential, ensuring they grow up knowing they are deeply loved by their Heavenly Father.

Today, let us celebrate the laughter, the curiosity, and the bright spirits of our children. Let us commit to building a world where they can grow in wisdom, stature, and favor with God and man.

Prayer: Heavenly Father, we thank You for the gift of children. We pray for Your protection over them in an unstable world. Grant them wisdom beyond their years and keep their hearts pure. For the parents, grant them the patience and grace to lead these little ones toward Your light. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

A Blessing for the Children
(Parents, you can speak this over your children today):
"May you grow like Samuel, in favor with God and men. May you be like Daniel, ten times better than your peers. You are the head and not the tail; you are a light to your generation. You are blessed!"

TUESDAY, MAY 26
TOPIC: TREMBLE BECAUSE OF YOU
TEXT: DEUTERONOMY 2:25
“This very day I will begin to put the terror and fear of you on all the nations under heaven. They will hear reports of you and will tremble and be in anguish because of you."

God works in mysterious and marvelous ways. His works are so unique that He alone can fully explain them, for no human mind can truly fathom the depth of His wisdom. In His dealings with His children, He strategically plans seasons of rest and victory long before we even arrive at the battlefield.

When God ordains your season of rest, He goes before you to:
1. Instill divine respect in the nations: He ensures that those who encounter you are hesitant to attack or cause trouble in your life. His presence becomes your shield.
2. Establish your reputation by His power: He causes your progress to be so evident that even the report of what God is doing through you disarms your adversaries.

We see this clearly in the history of the Israelites. The Lord fulfilled His word so completely that nations became wary of them; even to this day, the mention of Israel commands attention and respect across kingdoms.
God’s ultimate plan for you is to succeed and find true rest. Your responsibility is to lean on Him daily, trusting Him to fulfill His divine purpose in your life.

Prayer: Heavenly Father, thank You for Your glorious plans concerning my life. I ask that Your promised rest and divine protection manifest in my journey today. Let Your favor be my shield, in Jesus' name. Amen.
