MEMORY SEED: Making good use of the time, because the days are evil (Eph 5:16 BBE)
🌈LESSON OBJECTIVE: To create consciousness of time and how we spend our time
🌈INTRODUCTION: Psalm 90:12 says, “So teach us to number our days, that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom. You need to understand that there is time for everything, and a wasted time is wasted opportunity. Time is very short and running out, you must learn to make the best use of the time you have now, for time waits for no man.
🌈OUTLINE
1. WHY YOU NEED TO REDEEM THE TIME
2. WHAT DO WE MEAN BY REDEEMING THE TIME?
Why you need to redeem the time
🔥Evil days are here: (2 Tim 3:1-2) evil days is called perilous or difficult time when many will be lover of money, than loving God, all kinds of evil practices, people will spend ,more time in worthless thing than God, just as it is today, believers has to be careful not to allow their selves carried away with the wind of iniquity, we must spend our time wisely
🔥Because time wait for no one: (Prov 6:4 read in msg, John 9:4)
it is said that procrastination is a thief of time, which is true; when you know you have something to do it is best to organize yourself and make those things get done at the right time. Procrastinating one thing leads to procrastinating in everything, Jesus said I will do the work of him that sent me while is day (time) because night is coming when there be no time to work
🔥Now that you still have the opportunity (Ps 6:10, Eph 5:16, Col 4:6),
being alive today is an opportunity, there are numerous opportunities God allowed to come your way, cease every opportunity you have now and achieve something good for yourself. If is prayers, giving, showing love to others, building your business, furthering your education, getting married etc grab it now because opportunity utilized is an opportunity gained
🌈What do we mean by redeeming the Time?
The Greek word ‘exagorazo’ translated as “redeeming” in Ephesians 5:16, means to rescue something from loss or redeem it. It can also mean to pay a price to recover or reclaim something from thing or someone. “Redeeming the time” also refers to making use of our time in a way that glorifies God. Each of us has a limited amount of time on this earth (James 4:14), and we are to use it in ways that honors God (Colossians 3:17).
🔥To be conscious of the duration of life: (James 4:13, Ps 89:47, Heb 9:27,
No one is meant to stay here forever, one day you will live, it therefore important that you live with that consciousness that you will go one day “it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this judgment.”
From this verse above there are solemn truths and a fearful finality of every man
1. Everyone has appointed day to leave this world: (Job 7:1)
We live once:
2. No one knows the appointed day: (Ps 89:47 NLT) death does not announce his arrival, he comes when you less expect, who can escape it? It comes to kings, commoners, men and women, young and old. It comes to all and it comes suddenly
3. After death the judgment: If no one can escape death, then no one will escape judgment either, after death one’s life will continue either in heaven or in hell forever
🌈CONCLUSION:
The only time you and I have today is called “Now” if you miss “Now” you might miss all. Don’t expect yesterday to come back again, therefore don’t delay or postpone what you are supposed to do now, remember we all shall give account of how we use our time, Psalm 90:12 say, “So teach us to number our days, that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom.
