MILLINNIUM ENVIRONMENTAL ORGANIZATION OF NIGERIA
The Millinnium Environmental Organization of Nigeria is a collective youth uniform voluntary organization committed to the Global Environment Health, Creativity & Youth Development, Akins to the Nigeria Red Cross, Man O War, Brigade of Nigeria etc. registered in Nigeria under the company allied matter act I part C of 1990.
The organization is design to explore opportunities that abound in municipal solid waste management system, frown at un-kept environment thereby providing mammoth waste bin, refuse bins, waste baskets, and handy waste bags coupled with the responsibility of providing logistic services such as safeguarding, upgrading environment system, providing emerging services to viticms of natural disaster, accidents as well as assisting in other health related services by anchoring the supply of relief materials to victims and creating extension classes etc educate people on the danger of unwanted waste dumping, deforestation, irrational bush burning, importance of personal/environmental development across all spectrum of the society, etc. and encourage public unity and services.
In its quest to implement the aforementioned, it has diverse a means of engaging thousand of Nigeria unemployed youth through its special youth intervention/sensitization programs to provide with access to gaining employment as it has put necessary machines in place to carry out its activities nationwide.
OUR AIMS AND OBJECTIVES
The aims and objectives inter Alia includes:
1. Provision of essential services towards safeguarding and protecting our health Environment danger pollution and as well as Promoting health management system and participating in environmental upgrading, vegetation control, waste management, forestation scheme and environmental sanitation.
2. To engage in exchange programmes between members of the organization, youth organizations, other related agencies and that of highly industrialized nations to aid transfer of knowledge and technology on health matters. Promote gender sensitive campaigns as well, as campaigning against the spread of deadly diseases such as Malaria, Ebola, typhoid, cholera, lead poisoning, fever, Diarrhea, guinea worm; polio, pollution, sexually transmitted Diseases and providing': relief services to victims of natural disaster, accidents; religious, ethnic communal crises as well as assist in other health services by mobilizing and supplying relief material and medical services to victims.
3. To provide an enabling environment of bringing needed aids at the sufferers of the world deadly diseases like HIV/AIDS.
4. To pilot new approaches and modalities for health development services across all spectrum of our society thereby laying a new foundation in our local communities, states and country (Nigeria) at large on health hygiene.
5. To train and orient the youth to adopt the right values in life.
6. The Organization will play an important role highly in significant areas such as education, environment and health wise by views and also spreading its tentacles to schools as ground for socialization, grooming, molding characters of youth, morally, intellectually by inculcating Into school curriculum the dangers of an unclean environment.
7. It will explore opportunities that abound in municipal solid waste management and strictly frown at un-kept environment thereby providing enough waste bins refuse bin; waste baskets, handy waste bags etc to encourage public co-operation and services,
8. Creation and provision of job opportunities for the youths by engaging them in productive 'ventures to deter them from taking into Crimes, anti-social act as such mobilize & train them to in research works, advocacy, capacity building, Creativity & innovations that can improve our environmental health standard both physically, morally, mentally etc through active youth participation.
9. It will create avenue were professionals from diverse field in the environmental health wise coming together to provide solution to the physical, economical, physiological, social and demographic problems confronting the health matter.
10. Create awareness & solution on the impending dangers and repaculture of an unclean environment through series of campaign, organized seminars, work symposium, public talks on unhygienic health and how it affects us.
11. It contribute optionally to international developmental works and participating in community self help project by enhancing the power prestige and name of our beloved country is sustained & maintained
12. To promote and improve the health, well being of all and sundry alike through free first aid services, environmental sanitation programme and campaign against self medication, drug abuse, discouragement of irrational bush burning, unwanted industrial waste, toxic waste also destroying the habitat of parasites, bacterial, virus etc.
How do Build a Nation, if we don't first Build the Youth, for without the Youth there will be no Nation and when we build the youth, we have build the Nation"
Youths make up half of the world population in every family, community, nation and continent; youths are the leaders and unarguably the next generation. As Millinnium Environmental Organization of Nigeria over the years carried our nascent programme, vocational training to impact functional skills with a view to make the youth economically productive citizens. It has however been realized that besides skill development, it will be necessary to provide gainful employment.
Youth of our Nation are highly idealistic and potent change agents if their energies are properly channeled. Volunteering is considered as one of the most effective Institutional Mechanism for empowering the youth’s e.g the Nigerian Civil Defense Corp and others.
Millinnium Environmental Organization of Nigeria is important for a reason that benefits both the community and the volunteers themselves. Volunteering service gives hope to the hopeless, succor to these who are deprived and life to those who need it. Voluntary service can come in various ways such as someone being involved in a cleanup after flood or monthly sanitation, fire outbreak, accident, helping the aged, sick, orphans etc. the experience people get from volunteering contributes to personal development, especially, in area of self-fulfillment, self-confidence and self-esteem. Youths are the direct investors the nation is for it is a well-known fact that the youths are the real wealth of the nation. In our knowledge driven world today, quality of people are marked by the skills and knowledge that they acquire. Thus, the youth people are the real wealth of a nation, the size and quality of its youth population determines whether the wealth potential of the country will be realized and sustain.
Hence, if we want to invest in our future, the best thing to do is to invest in the youth; the essence of these is to create enabling environment that is free from poverty. Millinnium Environmental Organization of Nigeria is an organization that foster Co-orperation on Global Environmental Health, Creativity & Youth Development across the globe and its magnitude is so enormous, let all well-meaningful youth embrace it to combat hunger, poverty and unemployment in the country. The greatest ideology for the youth and the nation should be: Mass movement for socio-economic justice.
