The Apostolic Church Nigeria, LAWMNA Territory, has concluded its 50th International Convention, a historic Golden Jubilee gathering that brought together ministers, members, families, worshippers and representatives from Nigeria and beyond for seven days of thanksgiving, worship, biblical teaching, prayer, revival, fellowship and gospel music.
Held from Saturday, August 1 to Friday, August 7, 2026, at the LAWMNA International Convention Ground, Olorunda-Ketu, Lagos, the convention celebrated five decades of God's faithfulness while directing the attention of the Church toward its continuing responsibility to stand firmly for Christ and advance the Gospel.

The 50th edition of the annual convention, whose history dates back to 1977, was held under the theme โThe Militant Church on the Earth,โ drawn from 1 Timothy 6:12. The theme gave the celebration a clear spiritual direction, reminding believers that the Jubilee was not only an occasion to celebrate the past, but also a call to stand firm in the faith, defend the truth, live holy lives, serve God faithfully and advance the Gospel.
The convention took place under the leadership of the newly inducted LAWMNA Territorial Chairman, Pastor M. O. Ogunibe, alongside the Territorial Executive Council and the wider leadership of The Apostolic Church Nigeria.

The convention opened on August 1 in an atmosphere of thanksgiving, anticipation and joyful celebration. The Welcome Service set the tone for the week, with a memorable transition from Apostolical Praise into 50 Hallelujah Shouts to mark the 50th convention anniversary.
The congregation celebrated God's faithfulness through five decades, reflecting on the journey from the first convention in 1977 to the Golden Jubilee in 2026. The service also featured the Word of Prophecy and sermon, providing spiritual encouragement and directing attention to the assignment ahead.

Sunday's Golden Jubilee Convention Service emerged as one of the major highlights of the week. The service was marked by gratitude and heartfelt worship as the saints celebrated 50 years of God's preservation and faithfulness.
The Word of Prophecy brought encouragement and direction, while sound biblical teaching was delivered by the National President of The Apostolic Church Nigeria, Pastor Dr. L. O. Oladele. Representatives from different countries also participated in declaring blessings upon the saints, underscoring the wider reach of the Gospel and the international dimension of the LAWMNA family.

He encouraged the saints to stand firmly as militant soldiers for Christ and challenged believers to remain committed to their faith and live out Christian values courageously. His message reinforced the convention's emphasis on Christian commitment not merely as church membership, but as a faithful representation of Christ in society.

A defining feature of the Golden Jubilee was its strong emphasis on the Word of God and spiritual development. The programme incorporated early-morning Bible teachings, Bible exposition, sermons, words of prophecy, prayer ministrations, revival services, tarry services, missionary services, gospel music, thanksgiving and worship.
These activities reflected the stated purpose of strengthening believers spiritually and calling the Church to renewed commitment to Christian service. The Jubilee consequently served as both a celebration ground and a spiritual classroom.

The missionary emphasis was particularly significant. The Church Militant, the convention reminded participants, is not called merely to gather but also to go. The saints were therefore encouraged to carry the Gospel into their homes, workplaces, communities and nations.

The Golden Jubilee provided an opportunity to look back with gratitude on the history of the Territorial Convention. The first LAWNA Territorial Convention was held in 1977, following the establishment of the territorial structure in 1972. Over the succeeding decades, the annual gathering developed into a significant spiritual assembly of The Apostolic Church Nigeria.
The 50-year milestone represented five decades of worship, preaching, prayer, revival, answered prayers, transformed lives, missionary expansion and God's preservation. The Jubilee thus served as both a memorial of God's faithfulness to generations past and a bridge into the future.

The Golden Jubilee also came at an important leadership moment for LAWMNA. In May 2026, Pastor M. O. Ogunibe was inducted as the seventh Territorial Chairman alongside the new principal officers of the Territory. The transition was presented as the beginning of a new era of service and Kingdom advancement.
As one of the first major occasions under the new administration, the Jubilee provided an opportunity to celebrate LAWMNA's heritage while looking ahead to its future responsibilities and mission.

Beyond the pulpit and formal programme, the convention created an atmosphere of fellowship and family. The Jubilee demonstrated that the strength of the Church lies not only in its structures but also in the people who carry its faith from one generation to another.

By Friday, August 7, the Golden Jubilee Convention reached its final day in an atmosphere of thanksgiving and reflection. After seven days of worship, teaching, prayer, prophecy, music, fellowship, missionary emphasis and celebration, the curtain came down on the historic 50th convention.
Yet the closing emphasis was clear: the convention may have ended, but the mission continues. Participants were sent back to their communities with a renewed responsibility to live as the Church Militant on Earth.

As the Golden Jubilee Convention drew to a close and the crowds returned home, one message remained clear: LAWMNA has celebrated 50 years, but the assignment of the Church is not complete.
The first 50 conventions tell a story of God's faithfulness. The next chapter calls for greater commitment, deeper consecration, stronger evangelism, sound doctrine, holy living and greater Kingdom impact.
The trumpet of Jubilee has sounded. The saints have gathered. The Word has gone forth. The prayers have been lifted. The praises have ascended. The blessings have been declared. Now, the soldiers must return to the field.
