TOPIC:
GET YOUR YEAR STARTED. Pt. 2
TEXT: "Deut.1.6-8
6 - The LORD our God spake unto us in Horeb, saying, Ye have dwelt long enough in this mount:
7 - Turn you, and take your journey, and go to the mount of the Amorites, and unto all the places nigh thereunto, in the plain, in the hills, and in the vale, and in the south, and by the sea side, to the land of the Canaanites, and unto Lebanon, unto the great river, the river Euphrates.
8 - Behold, I have set the land before you: go in and possess the land which the LORD sware unto your fathers, Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, to give unto them and to their seed after them.
Let us pray: in the mighty name of Jesus, let every yoke of Fear over my life and destiny be destroyed now and forever. This year, I must arise and Shine in Jesus name.
THE WORD:
From our devotional yesterday, I shared with us that January 1st is not what makes the year new but your DECISIONS.
You will have to evaluate your life and analyse your decisions over the years and now. Your decisions is what creates your experiences and events. Whatever and whereever you are today has a root in your decisions and indecision over the years.
This year like every other year has a lot in stock for you but you must understand you have your roles to play. From our Text of scripture, the Lord is urging us to arise. You cannot have explanations for Stagnation anymore. You have stayed at this level of your life for too long and the Lord is saying Arise.
Stop the blame game and take your journey forward. The Lord is waiting for you.
In the devotional yesterday we saw three steps you must take to get your year and life started; Pls refer to the message. Today I want to give you the 4th step to take.
4) Face your fear. This is a major decision you must make this year. What you fear is a mirage. God has not given you the spirit of fear, But of power, love and sound mind. 2 Tim. 1:7.
If God didn't give you fear, then you can't have it. Fear has its roots from many areas of our lives; From the way we were born, socialized, exposed and modelled etc. But when the word of God comes to us, we must accept the responsibility for our repositioning, then the Transformation takes place in our mind even though it can be gradual sometimes.
You need to be bold this year to take giant steps. What you fear is also afraid of you. Pick up your life and make progress this year. Many great destinies have been caged by fear. The fear of 'what if'? What if it doesn't work, what if I fail? What if she says no? What if I die? 'What if', 'what if'?
All the "what ifs" that put limitations on your capacity stems from fear and this year will only work if you face that fear. That glorious marriage is waiting for your boldness. Ask any honest and purpose driven single lady, what they admire in a suitor is Boldness to step forward and approach her. Not money or title, but fear has made many guys stranded in Bachelorhood plus other wrong philosophies.
There are big businesses you could have ventured into in the last five or ten year ago but you gave in to fear. Its time to say NO to fear.
How to deal with fear.
1) Have a relationship with God and let the Holy Spirit take charge of your emotions.
2) Feed on the word of God daily.
3) Guide your heart from wrong thoughts and toxic information and ideologies.
4) Avoid associations that feed fear into you. People and places that tell you how small and incapable you are.
INSTRUCTION FOR THE DAY:
Deliberately damage fear and face the future.
OUR CONFESSION FOR THE DAY.
I AM BOLD AS A LION. I REFUSE TO FEAR ANYTHING, I HAVE ALL I NEED TO SUCCEED. I CAN DO ALL THINGS THROUGH CHRIST THAT STRENGTHENS ME. I AM ABLE TO POSSESS MY POSSESSIONS THIS YEAR. I FEAR NO MORE.
PRAYER GUIDE FOR THE DAY:
1) In the name of Jesus, I rebuke the spirit of fear in my life now.
2) In the name of Jesus, let the root of fear be cut off in my life now.
3) In the name of Jesus, I resist the spirit of fear in all areas of my life.
4)In the name of Jesus, I shall arise and Shine in boldness everyday.
5) In the name of Jesus, I am bold to inherit my portion of purpose and destiny. Amen
