DAILY BREAD OF LIFE....
MONDAY 25TH MAY, 2026

WORD FOCUS: COMPLAINING IS A SIN!
TEXT: Psalm 100:4 "Enter his gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise; give thanks to him and praise his name..."

In Ephesians 4:29, the apostle Paul instructs us not to use any foul or polluting language. At one time, I didn't realize that this included complaining, but I have since learned that murmuring and complaining pollute our lives.Plain and simple, complaining is a sin! It causes many people a great deal of problems in their lives and destroys the joy of anyone listening. We need to ask ourselves, how quick are we to become impatient and begin to complain when stuck in traffic or while waiting in checkout lanes in grocery stores or department stores? How quick are we to spot and point out all the faults of our friends or family members? Do we complain about our job when we should be thanking God that we have one?The best antidote for complaining is thanksgiving. Truly thankful people do not complain. They are too busy being grateful for all the good things they have that they have no time to notice the things they could complain about. The Bible says that we are to enter God's courts with praise and thanksgiving. You and I need to make it a daily goal to live a life of thanksgiving. Let's be as positive and grateful as possible. Try going to bed at night pondering everything you have to be thankful for. Let it be the first thing you do in the morning. Thank God for "little" things or things you might normally take for granted: a parking place, waking up in time for work, a meal, your family... Don't get discouraged when you fail, but don't throw in the towel and quit either. Keep at it until you have developed new habits and you are living with an attitude of gratitude. Be generous with your gratitude. It will sweeten your relationship with the Lord. Prayer : God, I want to live with an attitude of gratitude, starting right now! I thank you so much for loving me and for blessing me. Help me see the positive things in life and to thank You for them.

SUNDAY 24TH MAY 2026

WORD FOCUS: THAT'S GRACE
TEXT: Ephesians 3:8 "Although I am less than the least of all the Lord’s people, this grace was given me: to preach to the Gentiles the boundless riches of Christ..."

The word 'grace' is so important that Paul mentions it three times more than any other writer. Remembering the violent life he lived, he writes, Although I am less than the least of God's people, this grace was given me: .to preach.. the unsearchable riches of Christ”. The word grace from the Greek word 'Charis' means 'pure joy'. Although you didn't deserve it, God considered saving you a 'pure joy'. How about that? In John chapter 8, a woman is caught in the act of adultery. The law is unmistakeable about her punishment. The Pharisees are ready to stone her, she knows that Jesus, being righteous must agree. She has no lawyer to defend her, not even a character witness! Suddenly Jesus stoops and began to write in the sand, some scholars have suggested that perhaps He wrote down their sins, times, places etc. ouch! When He looks up, her accusers are gone. He says ,”Neither do I condemn you..Go now and leave your life of sin (vs 11). Jesus lifted her from a position of undeniable guilt to one of unconditional pardon. She didn't deserve it and didn't know it was possible and that's your story too, isn't it? One day Abraham Lincoln watched a plantation owner bidding for a slave girl. Figuring he was going to buy her and abuse her, Lincoln paid the price to set her free. 'Does this mean I can say whatever I want to say? She asked, Lincoln replied, Yes”, again she asked, 'Does this mean I can go wherever I want to go? Again Lincoln responded, Yes. You're free”! With tears streaming down her face she replied, “Then, sir, I will go with you, “That's grace! The song writers says – God's grace that pardons and cleanses within, grace that is greater than all my sin! That's what God has given to you and I in Christ Jesus.

DAILY BREAD OF LIFE....
SATURDAY 23RD MAY 2026

WORD FOCUS: YOU CAN CHOOSE TO LIVE
TEXT: John 5:6 When Jesus saw him lying there and learned that he had been in this condition for a long time, he asked him, “Do you want to get well...?

He can't walk, the pool isn't accessible and there are no motorised lifts. Then Jesus comes along and asked this man who had been incapacitated for 38 years, “Do you want to be made well?” what a question! Now Jesus didn't ask because He didn't know the answer; He did it to correct the man's (and our) thinking along the right lines. He could easily have asked: Are you ready to assume responsibility for your life? Do you really want that promotion, or is it easier to just gripe about money? Are you ready for marriage, for somebody who'll share your life and make you reconsider your self-centred ways? Answers to our prayers often come with a price. For example, the family of an addict sometimes spends years praying for change, then when it happens they experience their own crises, because their lives have centred around the drama and dysfunction, they've never learned how to live any other way. At that point they have a choice to make: to keep blaming their problem on somebody else or accept that they have their own issues to work on. “Do you want to be made well? Like it or not, asking God for solution often means challenges. A child might solve his need for pocket money by delivering newspapers but when he grows up, hopefully he'll be solving bigger ones, like how to provide for his family. But the good news is, solving bigger problems brings bigger rewards. So ask God to stretch you today by helping you to 'take up your bed and walk', burn your bridges of dependency and 'learned helplessness', and move on to greater things. In other words, “Choose to Live”.

DAILY BREAD OF LIFE...
FRIDAY 22ND MAY 2026

WORD FOCUS: REVERSE THE GENERATIONAL SLIDE
TEXT: Judges 2:10 "After that whole generation had been gathered to their ancestors, another generation grew up who knew neither the Lord nor what he had done for Israel..."

Approaching the end of his life, Joshua calls the nation's leaders together and says, “You yourselves have seen everything the Lord your God has done (Josh.23:3). His listeners could remember being supernaturally fed for forty years, seeing the Red Sea divide and the walls of Jericho fall. Then Joshua nails it squarely, “Choose …whom you will serve”. What did they do? Israel served the Lord all the days of Joshua (Josh.24:31). So far, so good! But take a closer look. They served God partly and only when it suited them, the one military action remaining to be taken after Joshua's death was to clean out the last pockets of pagan worship. But Israel did not drive out the inhabitants' (Jugdes 1:27) While Joshua has been fully committed to God, the elders were only partly committed and the result? Their sons and daughters began marrying neighbours and adopting their sinful lifestyles. “Another generation arose after them, which knew not the LORD, they provoked the LORD to anger, …they did not cease from their own doings nor from their stubborn ways...”. (Jug.2:10-12,19). What shaped the spiritual values of these children? The compromise of their parents! It is called the generational slide! It helps us understand how our parents shaped us, and predicts how our commitments or lack of them will shape our children. Parents you get the first crack at it. Give your children deep spiritual roots as early as possible. That way if they rebel, they'll have the memories and values to return to. Don't just tell them about God, model a godly lifestyle before them every day!

DAILY BREAD OF LIFE....
THURSDAY 21ST MAY 2026

WORD FOCUS: THE DAY OF SMALL THINGS
TEXT: Zechariah 4:10 "For who hath despised the day of small things? for they shall rejoice, and shall see the plummet in the hand of Zerubbabel with those seven; they are the eyes of the LORD, which run to and fro through the whole earth....”

Right now, you're probably believing God for something big to come to pass in your life—maybe a job, a relationship, a dream, or something else deep in your heart. If you look, you'll find evidence of a small beginning. God always gives you seed—even if only a little, tiny seed—something that causes you to hope. Focus on that seed. Rejoice over that seed. It's a sign of greater things to come. When you despise something, you regard it lightly; you count it as nothing and don't take care of it. But if you don't take care of what God gives you, you will lose it. That's why we have to learn to be content while things still seem small. You know God is the Author and the Finisher of our faith, and everything else in our lives (Hebrews 12:2). What He starts, He always completes. Don't kill your seed by complaining or speaking negative things over it. Instead, say things like, "Lord, this is only a little thing right now, but thank You for giving me some hope, something to hold on to. Thank You, Jesus, for a beginning.” Prayer: Father, thank You for the beginnings You've placed in my life, even though they may be small. Please help me to care for those seeds well, and to trust You to bring the big dreams in my heart to life. In Jesus' Name, amen.

DAILY BREAD OF LIFE....
WEDNESDAY 20TH MAY 2026

WORD FOCUS: FELLOWSHIP WITH THE FATHER AND SON
TEXT: 1 John 1:3 "We proclaim to you what we have seen and heard, so that you also may have fellowship with us. And our fellowship is with the Father and with his Son, Jesus Christ..."

One of the greatest privileges of being saved is fellowship with the Creator of the universe and His Son, the Lord Jesus Christ. There is no greater joy than being in the presence of the father and Son. You are only able to fellowship with the Father because of Jesus' suffering for your sins. He was the sacrifice for the sins of mankind (1 John2:2). There is no sin that the blood of Jesus does not cover. Strong faith is a product of close fellowship with the Father. Revelation knowledge flows out of intimate communion with the Father. As you come to know Him more personally, you will come to better know your victory in Him. Walking in victory is not achieved simply by following a formula, it is a result of walking in fellowship with you Father and Jesus. I want to encourage you to seek after Him, many people miss it by seeking after success. They don't realize that if you seek after the things of God, you will experience blessings and prosperity. The Father desires that we fellowship with Him, you do this by reading and meditating on the Word of God –Jesus and through prayer; which is simply talking to God and listening to what He says back to you. Because of Jesus, we boldly go before the throne of God to fellowship with our Father (Heb.4:16)Your declaration: My fellowship is with the Father and His Son, Jesus Christ. Through the blood of Jesus I boldly go to the throne of God to fellowship with Him and seek His face. My fellowship with my heavenly Father is intimate and unbroken.

DAILY BREAD OF LIFE...
TUESDAY 19TH MAY 2026

WORD FOCUS: ABUNDANT LIFE
TEXT: John 10:10 "The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full..."

Abundant life is God's phrase for the “good life”. Abundant means “excess, more than enough, bounteous, rich, profuse, extravagant, fully enough, and lavish”. This is the type of life God has planned for every believer and that includes you. He wants your life to be blessed – abundant, prosperous, and successful. The devil is the thief, the killer, and the destroyer. God is the Blesser, the Giver, and the Abundant One. Don't get God and the devil mixed up, they are totally different with opposite motives concerning your welfare. God is for you, the devil is against you, however since God is for you, the devil can't stand against you. Jesus came into the world so we would experience the life of God, which is abundant, full and ample, He came to the earth to give life to you and not to take it from you. Jesus died on the cross and was resurrected from the dead so you could live an abundant life. You receive resurrection, or abundant life when you become born again. You were not reborn to barely get along, Your heavenly Father does not take pleasure in seeing His children living in poverty. Realize this: God wants you to enjoy His riches in glory right now! He loves you and does not plan for your failure, instead, He plans for you to succeed, He plans for you to experience eternal , abundant life Now! And this life is always more than enough! Declare: I live abundantly in Christ Jesus, He is my Shepherd and I do not want. No good thing is withheld from me, God has blessed me with every spiritual blessing in heavenly places in Christ Jesus.

MONDAY 18TH MAY 2026

WORD FOCUS: BECOMING A CHAMPION FOR GOD
TEXT: Mark 10:43-45 "Not so with you. Instead, whoever wants to become great among you must be your servant, and whoever wants to be first must be slave of all. For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve,..."

You can be a champion for the Lord. It is not how many home runs you hit, how beautiful you are, how much real estate you own, or any other success there is. Becoming a champion for God is what you do for Him. The key to becoming a champion is being a servant. True greatness is not a matter of leadership, authority, or high personal achievements but an attitude of heart that sincerely desires to live for God and others. We must be so committed to God that we identify with His will on earth without desiring glory, position or material rewards. Being a champion requires you become great in the right areas. You need to learn to be great in faith, humility, godly character, wisdom, self-control, patience and love. In God's sight, the greatest in His kingdom are those with the greatest love for His kingdom and commitment to His revealed word. You must lead as a servant, helping others to fulfil the will of God for their lives. Champions must never misuse or betray their position by seeking fame, power, wealth or special privileges Accomplishing the will of God, bring others to salvation in Christ and pleasing God are rewards of a true champion. The stairway to championship is servanthood. Sometimes servants are not known by anyone on earth, but they are known by our heavenly Father. To walk in victory is to become like Jesus who made Himself of no reputation and took on the form of a bondservant. Prayer: Self-service in my life stops today, I am motivated by God's love to serve others in every way I can.

WORD FOCUS: GOD IS AT WORK IN YOUR LIFE
TEXT: Job 23:10 "But he knows the way that I take; when he has tested me, I will come forth as gold..."

It's a mistake to compare yourself to other people, because God has a plan for you that's unique and personal. His methods may sometimes seem strange and His training laborious, but His results are always worth waiting for. Without scams and games He accomplishes His purpose in our lives, and all He asks us to do is Trust and Obey. It's that simple. In the midst of unspeakable heartache and trouble, notice three things Job said about God: 1) 'He knows the way that I take.' The path you are on today is the one God chose for you, and He never makes mistakes. And even when you don't know where He is, God knows where you are because He never takes His eye off of you. 2) 'When he has tested me.' The word 'when' means God has established a set time for testing you, and a set time for bringing you out of the test. Aren't you glad He's the One who's testing you, and not people? Would you trust anyone other than Him to take you through this learning curve? Of course you wouldn't. 3) 'I will come forth as gold.' When God gets through refining you and removing the impurities from your life, you will shine like pure and precious gold. The process always precedes the promise. When the dross has been discarded and the fear removed, some people may wonder how such a vessel could have been made from such poor material. They may even ask if you're the same person. When they do, just say 'No!' hallelujah !!!

DAILY BREAD OF LIFE....
SATURDAY 16TH MAY 2026

WORD FOCUS: TODAY 'BE READY'
TEXT: Phil. 4:13 "I am ready for anything…through Him who infuses inner strength into me..."

The Bible says, 'Don't brag about tomorrow, since you don't know what the day will bring' (Proverbs 27:1 NLT). The truth is, when you wake up every morning you have no idea what will happen to you that day. You hope for a trouble-free day where your expectations and wishes will be fulfilled – but you know from experience this isn't always the case. We live in a real world with real problems. Your enemy the devil is real, and he works in every possible way to bring discouragement, fear, and failure. Knowing this, the psalmist wrote: 'If you make the Lord your refuge…no evil will conquer you; no plague will come near your home. For he will order his angels to protect you wherever you go…The Lord says, “I will rescue those who love me. I will protect those who trust in my name. When they call on me, I will answer; I will be with them in trouble. I will rescue and honour them. I will reward them with a long life and give them my salvation”' No matter what comes your way, you must trust that when it arrives God will give you the grace to handle it. Remember, Satan loves to attack those who are in line for God's blessing. That's why Paul wrote, '[I am ready for anything and equal to anything through Him Who infuses inner strength into me.]'Our ability to do what He wills comes from His enabling power. Inner strength is better than outer strength. Why? Because as long as you remain strong inwardly, you can handle anything that comes against you outwardly and keep moving forward. So today – Be Ready.
