Many of us grow up thinking Ramadan is the most blessed month of the year. And it is, especially the last ten nights, which contain Laylat al-Qadr, the Night of Power, better than a thousand months.
But here's what Islamic scholars have clarified:
The first ten DAYS of Dhul Hijjah are actually superior to the days of Ramadan.
The Prophet Muhammad said: "There are no days during which righteous deeds are more beloved to Allah than these days" referring to the first ten days of Dhul Hijjah. When the companions asked "Not even jihad in the cause of Allah?" he replied "Not even jihad.
So while Ramadan's nights hold extraordinary blessings, Dhul Hijjah's days are unmatched.
Both months are gifts from Allah, but they're blessed in different ways.
The question isn't which month to choose. It's how to maximize both.
We are in Dhul Hijjah now. Make every single day count. Fast, do dhikr, Give charity and Perform Hajj or Umrah if you can.
These are the best days of the year. Don't sleep on them.
