BELIEVERS DAILY MEDITATION
BY PASTOR SAMUEL O. OSAGHAE
AUGUST 23 (SUNDAY)
HELP FROM THE SANCTUARY
SCRIPTURE FOR MEDITATION
Psalm 20:1-2
The LORD hear thee in the day of trouble; the name of the God of Jacob defend thee; Send thee help from the sanctuary, and strengthen thee out of Zion.
PRACTICING THE CONSCIOUSNESS OF GOD’S PRESENCE
There are three major issues that constitute the Zion experience:
(i) The composition of Zion- God, Jesus, angels, believers, holy of holies
(ii) You cannot experience this without sincere worship
(iii) Zion is a place of gaining specific instruction for implementation.
Anyone who practices all of these is a Zionite.
In Psalm 20:1-2, the Psalmist wrote the following about Zion: The LORD hear thee in the day of trouble; the name of the God of Jacob defend thee; Send thee help from the sanctuary, and strengthen thee out of Zion.
Sanctuary and Zion suggests intimacy, where the consciousness of God is the predominant factor. A constant practice of this will bring you the following benefits:
(1) You will have answer in times of trouble. When you are a zionite, you will always have response from Zion in times of trouble. Everyone on earth experiences trouble once in a while, but in your case you will be heard. This help will only come from your sanctuary (your practice of deep intimacy with the Father).
(2) You will have HELP- Peter was walking on the sea and he began to sink. He cried out to Jesus for help and the Master responded
(3) You will have STRENGTH- After Samson lost his anointing and was captured by the Philistines, he cried to the Lord for help/strength. For the first time, he became conscious of the presence of God. Help came and strength was delivered to him.
To have access to all the above, you must be a candidate of the sanctuary and of Zion.
Pray this Prayer
O Lord, give me the grace to walk with You today in the strong consciousness of Your presence
THE POWER OF LOVE
Matthew 22:35-40
Then one of them, which was a lawyer, asked him a question, tempting him, and saying, Master, which is the great commandment in the law? Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.
Love is an attitude, a commitment, a form of behavior, passionately demonstrated for the benefit of another without intentionally expecting a reward.
Prayer works by love. Prayer is a very important tool in the hand of believers for communing with God and for causing change. Prayer is so powerful that anyone who uses it properly would do exploits. God hears the prayers of His children and He responds (Psalm 65:2). Jesus taught the following about prayers in Matthew 7:7-12- Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you: For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened. Or what man is there of you, whom if his son ask bread, will he give him a stone? Or if he ask a fish, will he give him a serpent? If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children, how much more shall your Father which is in heaven give good things to them that ask him? Therefore all things whatsoever ye would that men should do to you, do ye even so to them: for this is the law and the prophets. It is in doing good to others that prayer works. When you show love to others, you qualify to receive love from the Father. No prayer is effective if you do not extend love to others.
YOUR COMMUNION WITH THE HOLY SPIRIT
THE HOLY SPIRIT IS THE COMFORTER
John 14:16- And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you forever.
Are you lonely, abandoned, or having feelings of rejection and dejection? Are you in sorrow or are you currently going through a crises situation? As you meditate on the Holy Spirit as Your Comforter today, He will bring comfort to your troubled soul.
PROPHETIC WARFARE PRAYER
REFERENCE: John 14:16- And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you forever.
• Thank you Father for giving me the Holy Spirit to comfort me always.
• The Holy Spirit is my comforter. Every manifestation of loneliness, abandonment, rejection, dejection and sorrow in my life, making it seem like the Holy Spirit is not able to comfort me, I root you out today in the mighty name of Jesus.
• I decree and declare that sorrow and pain cannot dwell in my heart because the Holy Spirit is my comforter.
