Jehovah invites us to seek forgiveness and peace with him: “Come, now, and let us set matters straight between us,” says Jehovah.—Isa. 1:18.

Because of his love, Jehovah provided the ransom and assures us that once forgiven, he no longer holds our sins against us, removing them completely while remembering the good we have done. —Ps. 103:9, 12; Heb. 6:10.
Instead of dwelling on past mistakes, we should focus on serving Jehovah now and looking forward to the future he promises, trusting in his mercy and love.

Facing danger, David acted quickly, saying: “Get up, and let us run away, for none of us will escape from Absalom!”—2 Sam. 15:14.

As Absalom plotted to seize the kingdom, David relied on loyal supporters and a careful plan. He sent trusted men back to gather information and used wise strategy to stay informed. —2 Sam. 15:27-29, 32-37.
Through coordinated effort and loyalty, David received timely warnings that helped protect his life. —2 Sam. 17:8-16, 21, 22.

Jehovah shows great mercy, as seen in the words: “Jehovah . . . forgives your sin. You will not die.”—2 Sam. 12:13.

He does not desire anyone to be destroyed but wants sinners to repent and live. —2 Pet. 3:9. This is evident in how he forgave King David after serious sins and showed mercy to King Manasseh when he repented. —2 Sam. 12:1-12; 2 Chron. 33:9-16.
These examples assure us that whenever there is genuine repentance, Jehovah is willing to forgive and extend mercy, giving hope for life.

Good judgment protects us, as stated: “Thinking ability will keep watch over you, and discernment will safeguard you.”—Prov. 2:11.

Each day we make decisions—some simple, others more serious—that can affect our lives, our families, and our worship. Our goal is to make choices that please Jehovah. —Rom. 12:1, 2.
To make wise decisions, we must first gather and consider the facts. Just as a doctor carefully examines a patient before deciding on treatment, we benefit by thoughtfully evaluating a situation before acting.

Christians are urged to keep progressing: “Now that we have moved beyond the primary doctrine about the Christ, let us press on to maturity, not laying a foundation again.”—Heb. 6:1.

Jehovah helps us reach maturity by providing shepherds and teachers in the congregation, along with his holy spirit, so we can develop “the mind of Christ” and grow to spiritual fullness. —Eph. 4:11-13; 1 Cor. 2:14-16.
By studying and imitating Jesus’ example, we can move beyond basic teachings and continue advancing toward Christian maturity with Jehovah’s help.

True security comes from godly wisdom: “Wisdom preserves the life of its owner.”—Eccl. 7:12.

Jesus warned against focusing on material wealth without being “rich toward God,” since life is uncertain and riches can quickly disappear. —Luke 12:16-21; Prov. 23:4, 5; Jas. 4:13-15.
Christians may face sacrifices, even losing financial security, but they remain confident in Jehovah’s promise: “I will never leave you, and I will never abandon you.”—Heb. 13:5.
By trusting in Jehovah and prioritizing spiritual riches, we can face the future with confidence, even during unexpected challenges.
