🎯TOPIC:
ENCOURAGE YOURSELF AND OTHERS

📖BIBLE READING:
Deuteronomy 1:38, 3:28
Deuteronomy 1:38
38. But Joshua the son of Nun, which standeth before thee, he shall go in thither: encourage him: for he shall cause Israel to inherit it.

Deuteronomy 3:28
28 But charge Joshua, and encourage him, and strengthen him: for he shall go over before this people, and he shall cause them to inherit the land which thou shalt see.

🗝️KEY VERSE:
But the people, the men of Israel, took courage, and again formed the battle line in the same place where they had formed it on the first day.Judges 20:22

✝️MEDITATION:
Thomas Edison famously made 10,000 attempts before perfecting the light bulb. When asked about his repeated failures, he responded, "I have not failed. I've just found 10,000 ways that won't work." Edison's perseverance through thousands of experiments before finding success is a testament to resilience.

In Deuteronomy 1:38, God commanded Moses to encourage and strengthen Joshua so he could tackle the challenges ahead. Similarly, Judges 20:22 recounts how the Israelites encouraged themselves to continue their fight even after initial defeats. Their determination to reform their battle line and persist in their efforts exemplifies the power of encouragement.

Many of us give up too soon. Imagine if Edison had quit after his 100th attempt—our world might have waited longer for electric light. This story should inspire us to persevere through our own challenges. David's story in 1 Samuel 30:6 is another powerful example. Despite being deeply distressed and facing the threat of stoning from his own people, David "encouraged himself in the Lord his God." Take heart and seek encouragement from these examples.

Are you or someone you know in the midst of discouragement?

🙏PRAYER:
O God, help me to encourage myself and others today.

🎯TOPIC:
BEWARE OF SPIRITUAL FRAUD!

📖BIBLE READING:
Acts 16:16-19
16.Once when we were going to the place of prayer, we were met by a female slave who had a spirit by which she predicted the future. She earned a great deal of money for her owners by fortune-telling.
17. She followed Paul and the rest of us, shouting, “These men are servants of the Most High God, who are telling you the way to be saved.”
18. She kept this up for many days. Finally Paul became so annoyed that he turned around and said to the spirit, “In the name of Jesus Christ I command you to come out of her!” At that moment the spirit left her.
19. When her owners realized that their hope of making money was gone, they seized Paul and Silas and dragged them into the marketplace to face the authorities.

🗝️KEY VERSE:
And when her masters saw that the hope of their gains was gone, they caught Paul and Silas, and drew them into the marketplace unto the rulers.Acts 16:19

✝️MEDITATION:
Relating with God and giving Him a timeline opens us to satanic fraud. Recall that the devil successfully intercepted God's plan in the Garden of Eden because Adam and Eve wanted to move ahead of God's timetable for them (Genesis 3:4-5); Abraham got Ishmael because of the devil's successful intervention into God's promise of a male child (Genesis 17:16). Only in Jesus did the devil's intervention agenda fail, because Jesus knew His time had not yet come, and owed the devil no obligation to prove his Sonship. Each time God promises delivery of any blessing to his children, the devil, in trying to seek for relevance, has the habit of trying to intercept them with counterfeit.

Only a deeply rooted Christian can suspect the fraud inherent in today's text. "These men are servants of the Most High God, and they have come to tell you how to be saved". The dwellers in that city may not have known that the masters of the damsel were "scammers" just like many of our business associates and brethren, interested in what they can "extort" from associating with us Do we need testimonies from the devil to believe what we are in Christ Anyone may easily have been deceived by a counterfeit spirit without the spirit of discernment. Some brethren in the church are sadly so dumb, deaf, and blind to the "scammers" that parade themselves as ministers of light in our cities and churches.

How spiritually prepared are you to checkmate spiritual fraud around you?

🙏PRAYER:
Oh Lord, arise and disgrace every agent of darkness in angelic garments.

JESUS, THE LIGHT OF THE WORLD

📖BIBLE READING:
John 3:19-21
19. This is the verdict: Light has come into the world, but people loved darkness instead of light because their deeds were evil.
20. Everyone who does evil hates the light, and will not come into the light for fear that their deeds will be exposed.
21. But whoever lives by the truth comes into the light, so that it may be seen plainly that what they have done has been done in the sight of God.

🗝️KEY VERSE:
"Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness.John 8:12

✝️MEDITATION:
There is no doubt about Jesus Christ's claim to be the light of the world. Many years ago, before my repentance, my late father took me to a herbalist who had served the devil for seven years. The herbalist prepared charms to promote my business. Initially, I used the charms and saw a boost in sales. However, after some time, I stopped using them, embraced the Gospel of Jesus Christ, and dedicated my life to Him.

When I compared the sales records before and after accepting Christ, I discovered that my business thrived more with Jesus as my Lord and Saviour. I immediately destroyed the charms that had kept my business in darkness. Since then, Jesus has been the guiding light in my life and my source of supply John the Baptist testified that Jesus is the true light that enlightens every person who comes into the world (John 1:1-9). In John 10:30, Jesus declared, "I and my Father are one"; thus, God is light, and in Him, there is no darkness at all. Our fellowship with Him is based on the truth that Jesus Christ is the light (1 John 1:5-7).

John the Beloved also declared in John 1:5 that when Jesus, the light came into the world, darkness could not comprehend it. Translation: Darkness cannot and will never overcome light. This is the reason it is always safe to stay in the light so darkness and its agents cannot overcome us.

Does your life showcase Jesus as the light of the world?

🙏PRAYER:
Dear Lord, help me to remain in Your light.

THE IRRESISTIBLE POWER OF THE GOSPEL

📖BIBLE READING:
Acts 6:8-15
8. Now Stephen, a man full of God’s grace and power, performed great wonders and signs among the people.
9. Opposition arose, however, from members of the Synagogue of the Freedmen (as it was called)—Jews of Cyrene and Alexandria as well as the provinces of Cilicia and Asia—who began to argue with Stephen.
10. But they could not stand up against the wisdom the Spirit gave him as he spoke.
11. Then they secretly persuaded some men to say, “We have heard Stephen speak blasphemous words against Moses and against God.”
12. So they stirred up the people and the elders and the teachers of the law. They seized Stephen and brought him before the Sanhedrin.
13. They produced false witnesses, who testified, “This fellow never stops speaking against this holy place and against the law.
14. For we have heard him say that this Jesus of Nazareth will destroy this place and change the customs Moses handed down to us.”
15. All who were sitting in the Sanhedrin looked intently at Stephen, and they saw that his face was like the face of an angel.

🗝️KEY VERSE:
And they were not able to resist the wisdom and the spirit by which he spake.Acts 6:10

✝️MEDITATION:
The Gospel of Jesus Christ is the solution to the problems of sins and death. It is a narrative of the events of Christ's birth, his death on the cross, and of his victory over death in resurrection. It breaks the strong "cedars of sin" (Psalms 29:3-9), and discerns the intents of the hearts (Hebrews 4:12). The dynamic power of the Gospel may be difficult to explain, but its irresistible power cannot be denied in the Conversion of Saul (Acts 9:1-18). It was also demonstrated in the life of Peter in his historic sermon that got over 3000 converted (Acts 2). In today's Bible text, we read how the haters of the Gospel showed their disdain for Stephen yet he was not deterred.

Several testimonies abound in God's word of the evidence of the irresistible power of the Gospel. At a time, "a certain woman shouted " Blessed is the womb that bares thee, and the paps which thou hast sucked." But Jesus said, "Yea rather, blessed are they that hear the word of God, and keep it." (Luke 11:27-28). As strong as the word of a king is (Ecclesiastes 4:4), the power of God's word breaks and turns it like a wave of the seas (Proverbs 21:1). The testimonies above show how much power the Gospel carries, but unfortunately, very few activate the opportunity to exploit it.

How prepared are you to tap into the power that is in the Gospel of Jesus?

🙏PRAYER:
Oh Lord, give me the burden to engage the Gospel power for kingdom enlargement.

MOTIVE CHECK

📖BIBLE READING:
1 Chronicles 21:1-4, 9-14
1 Chronicles 21:1-4
1. Satan rose up against Israel and incited David to take a census of Israel.
2.So David said to Joab and the commanders of the troops, “Go and count the Israelites from Beersheba to Dan. Then report back to me so that I may know how many there are.”
3. But Joab replied, “May the LORD multiply his troops a hundred times over. My lord the king, are they not all my lord’s subjects Why does my lord want to do this Why should he bring guilt on Israel”
4.The king’s word, however, overruled Joab; so Joab left and went throughout Israel and then came back to Jerusalem.

1 Chronicles 21:9-14
9. The LORD said to Gad, David’s seer,
10. “Go and tell David, ‘This is what the LORD says: I am giving you three options. Choose one of them for me to carry out against you.’ ”
11. So Gad went to David and said to him, “This is what the LORD says: ‘Take your choice:
12. three years of famine, three months of being swept away before your enemies, with their swords overtaking you, or three days of the sword of the LORD—days of plague in the land, with the angel of the LORD ravaging every part of Israel.’ Now then, decide how I should answer the one who sent me.”
13. David said to Gad, “I am in deep distress. Let me fall into the hands of the LORD, for his mercy is very great; but do not let me fall into human hands.”
14. So the LORD sent a plague on Israel, and seventy thousand men of Israel fell dead.

🗝️KEY VERSE:
So the Lord sent pestilence upon Israel: and there fell of Israel seventy thousand men.1 Chronicles 21:14

✝️MEDITATION:
In today's bible reading, David's decision to conduct a census was not merely a bureaucratic exercise; it was a reflection of his heart's condition. His motive was tainted with pride and self-reliance, seeking to measure his own strength rather than trusting in God's provision.

As a result, God's judgment fell upon Israel, and many lives were lost. Similarly, we must examine our own hearts and motives. Are we serving God out of genuine love and devotion, or are our actions driven by selfish ambitions, pride, or a desire for recognition Are we seeking to glorify God in all that we do, or are we seeking to exalt ourselves.

A motive check requires humility and honesty before God. It's about laying bare our intentions and allowing God to search our hearts. It's about surrendering our own desires and aligning ourselves with God's will, even when it may seem difficult or counterintuitive. But why does motive matter Because God sees beyond our outward actions; He looks upon the heart. Our motives reveal the true condition of our relationship with Him.

Are we seeking to honor Him with our lives, or are we seeking to gratify our own desires Yet, there is hope. Just as David repented of his wrongdoing and sought God's forgiveness, so too can we. God is gracious and merciful, always ready to forgive those who humbly come before Him.

How often do you carry out motive checks in your life?

🙏PRAYER:
Dear Lord, search me and purge my ways that upset you.

🎯TOPIC:
IT IS FINISHED - A PERFECT SACRIFICE!

📖BIBLE READING:
John 19:28-30
28. Later, knowing that everything had now been finished, and so that Scripture would be fulfilled, Jesus said, “I am thirsty.”
29. A jar of wine vinegar was there, so they soaked a sponge in it, put the sponge on a stalk of the hyssop plant, and lifted it to Jesus’ lips.
30. When he had received the drink, Jesus said, “It is finished.” With that, he bowed his head and gave up his spirit.

🗝️KEY VERSE:
When Jesus therefore had received the vinegar, he said, It is finished: and he bowed his head, and gave up the ghost.John 19:30

✝️MEDITATION:
"Good Friday" is indeed remarkable, yet the scene was not one we would desire for ourselves. It marked the full expression of God's wrath on sin. Jesus Christ, the Son of God, became the victim, humiliated, beaten, ridiculed, and mocked by man. He was nailed to the cross, a horrifying punishment reserved for the worst criminals. All of creation responded—there was darkness, as if evil had triumphed. Hell may have briefly rejoiced in this apparent victory—three hours of darkness.

But then, our Lord gave His final declaration, ending His earthly ministry with the words, "It is finished." Consummatum est! Yes, everything concerning our salvation, healing, and deliverance—our full restoration—was completed. The temple curtain tore, opening the Holy of Holies to all, granting direct access to God's throne of grace, and breaking down the dividing wall. An earthquake followed; graves opened, and many holy people who had died were raised to life, walking the streets of Jerusalem.

Do you see your situation as hopeless Does the enemy seem to be celebrating over you Be encouraged! The final victory is yours. God's light will shine again in your life, and your morning of joy has come. Jesus won! The darkness of Friday and the despair of Saturday vanished when the Lord of resurrection rose triumphantly early on Sunday. We, too, will live forever!

Have you accepted this perfect sacrifice?

🙏PRAYER:
Thank you, Lord! Because You live, I shall live!

KINGDOM BRAND AMBASSADORS

📖BIBLE READING:
Luke 6:43-45
43. “No good tree bears bad fruit, nor does a bad tree bear good fruit.
44. Each tree is recognized by its own fruit. People do not pick figs from thornbushes, or grapes from briers.
45. A good man brings good things out of the good stored up in his heart, and an evil man brings evil things out of the evil stored up in his heart. For the mouth speaks what the heart is full of.

🗝️KEY VERSE:
Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.Matthew 5:16

✝️MEDITATION:
Years ago, a Nigeria Federal Minister was famous for his great communication skills. His password was: "If you govern, govern well, if you teach, teach well" It is not out of point to say also, "If you're a believer in Christ, represent Him well." Those who do it well are called "Christians." Two years ago, I engaged a young man just launching out as an entrepreneur in a discussion. Talking about brand management, he said: "A start-up business desiring to build a brand, cannot compromise standards at 99%" standards! Consistent standards in its engagements with its environment will stamp its presence upon the market space.

As Christ's Kingdom brand builders, we must stamp our presence in the "marketplace" (Matthew 5:16). Every Christian carries Christ's brand (Galatians 6:17). It was a Christian drama promoter who said wherever a child of God is found, he carries with him dual assignments - a general one to promote Kingdom brand that reveals Christ; then his/her professional assignment. Therefore, two ethics must guide him: his professional ethics and Kingdom ethics. In case of conflict, the kingdom speaks louder and through the testimony, God is glorified.

Such was the case of the disciples, our forerunners, they were such good brand ambassadors that the world had no difficulty in concluding that they had been with Jesus. No wonder the believers in Jesus Christ who "showcased" the character of Jesus were called Christians at Antioch (Acts 11:26).

Are you a marketable brand for Christ?

🙏PRAYER:
Oh Lord, cause me to be a promoter of the gospel of Jesus Christ everywhere I go.
