●A seared conscience means that a person’s conscience is no longer intact
• We must constantly put the word of God before our eyes
●Listen with intent
●Whatever will kill your conscience, stay away from it.⁠

6. MODERN ENTERTAINMENT CAN BE A SPIRITUAL GATEWAY

●Entertainment is not always bad, but not every entertainment is suitable for the Christian.
●( psalm 101:3) ( Proverbs 4:23)
• If a believer constantly feeds the mind with immorality, violence, mockery of the kingdom, s*xualized contents, pride, and worldly values. Your spiritual sensitivity begins to die.
• Openness will help you damage ⁠your secrecy. You don’t fight secrecy with secrecy; rather, you fight secrecy with openness.

7. SOCIAL MEDIA AND BATTLE FOR THE MIND

8. HOW MODERNISM MAKES HOLINESS LOOK EXTREME

●Purity becomes old-fashioned, modesty becomes insecurity, self-control becomes legalism, correction becomes judgement, and obedience becomes spiritual bo***ge.
●Deal with your enticement that is not Godly.
●(James 1:12-16) God cannot use evil to teach you righteousness.

9. SPIRITUAL REQUIREMENT FOR DISCERNMENT

●Excess worldly songs can weaken your spiritual atmosphere
●The mature Christian does not ask if this is sin? but where is this taking me to.

10. THE CHRISTIAN MUST LEARN TO LIVE IN THE WORLD, WITHOUT BECOMING THE WORLD

(John 17:15)
○You can enjoy without being sinful
○The real battle is the battle for the mind ( 2 Corinthians 10:5)
○Christianity requires spiritual and mental discipline
○Not every thought deserves acceptance
○Not every desire deserves fulfilment
○Not every invitation deserves a yes.
○Not every trend deserves imitation
○Not every popular opinion deserves agreement.

WHAT DO WE MEAN BY MODERNISM

1. It refers to a mindset that says, because society has changed, our standards should change too.
●It is when a mindset introduces a trend that counters the standard of God’s righteousness.
●Show examples by what you post online.

●What pleases the flesh is rebranded as personal freedom (Modernism).

○Satan’s Strategy

●Satan will not tell you to reject Christ. He starts by saying, “Everybody does it.”
God understands reducing your standard.

2. Spirituality is not the same as religious activity.
(Matthew 15:8)

●Repentance is changing what you do, renewing your mind, and there must be evidence of it.
●Stopping church is the last phase of backsliding.
●Do not allow your heart to be far from God.
●True spirituality is who you are when nobody is watching, not what you do in Church

●What you do affects your thoughts, conversation, entertainment, relationships, and dressing.

To disrespect yourself is to expose your privacy.

3. The bible warns us not to conform to the world (Rom 12:1-2)

●Conformity is allowing an external environment to mould you into its shape.
●The world says, “Think like us.”
●Spirituality says, “Think according to God’s Word.”

4. The Danger of Normalising What God Forbids

●One of the dangers of modernism is normalisation.
1 Corinthians 10:12, 1 Corinthians 6:12
●Don’t introduce ungodly desires into your home through your lust.
●Control your lust.

MODERNISM Vs SPIRITUALITY.

●Conformation is a process
●The spirit of a man is already saved; the soul is being saved; the soul seeks Salvation by the renewing of the word of God.
• When your soul receives salvation, righteousness. If a man is not renewed, the righteousness in him cannot be transferred outwardly
●Discernment is required in the last days
●Discernment is of utmost importance/ required necessity for a Christian who is willing to protect and preserve their spirit in these last days.
• We need discernment so we can prove that which is good and acceptable and the perfect will of God.
●If you want to be free from worldliness, you should stay away from entertainment in these last days
●The internet changes your taste; you start liking what you’re not supposed to like (1 John 2:15-16)
●” TREND “ is one thing we must be careful of; it comes with a wave and a spirit
●Whatever is trending comes with a spirit
●Anything trending should be checked if it agrees with the mind of God.
●A Christian can be modern in technology and still be ancient in holiness.

Modernism can become extremely dangerous when it changes our definition of righteousness.

2. They must see you serving God
3. They must see you sharing testimonies on how the word of God chanced you.

1. Devotion and prayer
2. Attendance to church
3. Become more mission oriented
4. Bringing God into your daily life

°One way you’ll let the devil win is by not letting things go.

○To damage your testimonies
○To divide the body
○To weaken the leaders
○To discredit the gospel

Diligence is the responsibility to do it constantly.
Praying is not enough; you must take deliberate action/steps to protect your marriage.

Marriage is not only built by love, but by boundaries, Wisdom, Vigilance, and fear of God.

Marriage needs protection against invaders

• Your marriage is a covenant, not merely a relationship ( Malachi 2:14)
○A covenant requires protection; you do not treat your marriage as an ordinary friendship, because it involves intimacy, trust, & vulnerability.
• Marriage must be treated as something holy
○Respect begins with receiving the leadership of the man, whether it is convenient or not.

●Every city with walls needs gate ( Nehemiah 4:9) • Love is not protection. Love needs protection
○You can be spiritually mature and still avoid things that make you exposed.
°Every crush from the heart begins with the eyes
°What you fail to guard can be freely invaded

●The first gate of your marriage is your eyes
(Job 31:1)
○Many physical scenes begin as visual indulgence

• There’s a difference between staring and lusting after someone through deliberate repeated looking

○You must define your relationship from a Godly perspective because if the Bible cannot guide us, then we are finished.
