Official Communique on the State of the Nigerian Nation
Preamble:
On the 9th of June,2025,We, the COLLEGE OF BISHOPS comprising Apostles,Prophets,Bishops and Archbishops of Word-Based Bishops and Apostles Peculiar Global Association Inc.,a body corporate with her Registered office at at No 9,Justice Ephraim Akpata street, off Akugbe,New Benin,Benin city, after prayerful deliberation and reflection under the guidance of the Holy Spirit on her yearly solemn assembly ,[ synod], release this communique on the present condition of Nigeria.
As spiritual leaders, we carry a divine responsibility to speak truthfully and prophetically concerning the state of our nation, its people, and its institutions without any political bias ,leaning or affiliation.
1.Security
We observe with deep concern the rising tide of insecurity across the nation. The activities of terrorists, kidnappers, and armed bandits continue to claim innocent lives and displace thousands. We call upon the Federal Government and all security agencies—including the Nigeria Police Force, DSS, and SSS—to urgently adopt a holistic and professional approach to restoring peace and security nationwide. We also call for the safeguarding of communities and the protection of human rights in all operations.
Furthermore, the Traditional rulers should be encouraged to profile any individual aiming to reside in his domain,Wistle blowers should be encouraged and empowered and the local vigilantes should be well trained and armed to defend their localities.
2. Economy
Nigeria's economic distress is affecting every stratum of society. Inflation, unemployment, are pushing citizens into deeper poverty. We urge government at all levels to implement pro-people economic policies, support local enterprise, and ensure proper stewardship of national resources. Corruption must be fought with transparency and not with favoritism.
3. National Unity
The growing tribalism, ethnic division, and regional distrust threaten our nation's unity. Nigeria was built to thrive as one indivisible entity. We call on leaders to emphasize common values, fairness, and inclusive development to foster unity and national cohesion. Every region must be treated with equity in representation, resources, and opportunity.
4.Religious Freedom
Freedom of worship is not only a constitutional right but a divine one. We strongly condemn any form of religious intolerance, persecution, or bias in public service. The government must remain neutral protective of all religious expressions in the country, and religious leaders must foster love and respect for others while remaining true to their faith.
5. Justice and the Rule of Law
The SYNOD is concerned about the politicization of justice, selective law enforcement, and the undermining of judicial independence. Justice delayed is justice denied. We advocate for judicial reforms, prompt adjudication of cases, and total respect for the rule of law. Law enforcement must not be used as a political tool or weapon of suppression.
6.Security Institutions (DSS, SSS, Police)
While acknowledging the sacrifice of many brave officers, we decry reports of unlawful arrests, brutality, and disregard for human rights by some personnel of the DSS, SSS, and police. These institutions must operate with transparency, accountability, and professional ethics. Trust between the people and security forces must be restored through justice and reform.
Conclusion:
We reaffirm our commitment to praying for Nigeria and contributing positively to nation-building. We call for a collective return to righteousness, moral leadership, and servant governance. Nigeria must rise again through truth, equity, and spiritual awakening.
"Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord…" – Psalm 33:12
May the Lord grant wisdom to our leaders, peace to our land, and revival to our people.
