Topic: Jesus is Risen, Hallelujah
Text: Matthew 28:1-7 (Mark 16:1-8;)
Intro:
The resurrection of Jesus Christ was something the religious leaders as well as the enemies of the cross never thought will ever happen. They derived pleasure in condenming an innocent man to the cross because of jealousy and hatred. But little did they know that God will not abandon His own, and that they were only fulfilling prophecy by crucifying an innocent and Holy one.
They did not know, that God had a bigger and a better plan for His beloved Son.

Lessons to Learn
1. The Role Played By The Women: They Are Special People
When the men were sorrowing and probably mourning and hidding somewhere, these women arranged, to come and anoint Jesus' body. According to the Jewish tradition, only special people will be are annointed with spices at buriah.
Hence, Jesus was very dear to their hearts. They loved Him and were ready to go any miles just to honor Him.
These women, Mary Magdalene, and the other Mary (the wife of Zebedee, mother to James and John) spent their money, woke up before dawn, defiled all percieved obstacles (the stone and military formation stationed at the mouth of the cave) and came to the tomb.
* The question to everyone here is this, "To what extent can you go just to honor Jesus in your life?"

2. Trust God To Remove The Obstacles (The Stone Was Roled Away, and the Soldiers slept like dead men). Veres 2-4.

* Initially, The religious leaders had asked for permission from Pilate, the Roman Governor, to secure the tomb, so that Jesus' disciples will not come at night to steal His Co**se away within three days of his buriah.
Matthew 27:62-66

Though the sepucre was well secured with military officers on guard as well as a Giant stone sealed and rolled at the mount of the cave, as a blockage of stopper to the resurrection of Jesus, but when God calls or thunders from heaven, nature and every created thing as well as the devil himself obeys.

3. Jesus is Risen. Verse 5-7
The angel whose appearance was like lightning, and his garment as white as snow gave these comforting words:
"He is not here...come see were they had lay him."
The Giant stone could not prevent His Resurrection, neither could the Military officers stop Him from rising.

THE SIGNIFICANCE OF HIS RESURRECTION
1. Jesus' resurrection confirms that He is truely the Son of God,
2. His resurrection affirms His Lordship over death,
3. His resurrection has brought us together as a Church. This is the foundation of our Christian faith. 1 Cor. 15:14.
"And if Christ has not risen, then our preaching is in vain, and your faith is also in vain."

4. His resurrection means victory for us in this world, Rom. 6:9-10
"knowing that Christ being raised from the dead will not die again. Death no longer has dominion over him. For the death he died, he died to sin once for all, but the life he lives, he lives for God."

5. His resurrection confirms that those who died in Christ will rise on the last day, which is Hope of Eternal life. John 11:25
"Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in me, even though he dies, yet he will live.”

6. His resurrection should be a reminder for us to live a holy and righteous life.

Revival Day Two
Topic: It is Finish
‭John 19:30 NIV‬
"When he had received the drink, Jesus said, “It is finished.” With that, he bowed his head and gave up his spirit."

The word 'finished' as used here is a Greek verb 'Tetelestai' from the word 'te-leh-o,' which means: to complete, execute, conclude, discharge.
As in a debt, fully paid.
It is to acomplish a task and to make an end or fulfill the requirement.

What Jesus did or accomplished?

Jesus had a goal, a mission to fulfill, a goal to accomplish; and that mission is to save humanity from their sins and to restore man's relationship with his Maker. The journey to the cross was not an easy one for Jesus, at a time, He was almost given up, that was when he said in "Luke 22:42 saying:
“Father, if you are willing, remove this cup from me. Nevertheless, not my will, but yours, be done.”

He was betrayed by trusted ally, flogged until his flesh was pulling out from the strocks from the twisted ragor wip, and a crown of thongs was placed on his head, they spat on His face, He was exposed to shame and humiliation. Dispised, and rejected, He was condemned like a common criminal even though no quit was found in Him. He was cruxified, which was the worst kind of punishment melted out by the Roman empire on hardened criminals. But Jesus needed to go through all these things, in other for the sacrifice for our redeemption to be complete.
He was driven by persistence, motivated by love for humanity. He endured the cross, the shame, the pain and the reproaches of the cross. No wonder the Bible says in
‭Isaiah 53:5 NIV‬
"But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was on him, and by his wounds we are healed."

Hence, haven't melt and fulfilled the requirement for the salvation of all humanity, He said, "...It is Finished" meaning, I have completed my task, I have fulfilled my Mission, and there remaineth no more sacrifice needed for your salvation, He paid it in full. Therefore, I can boldly say, I am free from the powers of hell, the devil has no more power to keep me in bo***ge, Jesus paid the price for my freedom and deliverance. He paid the prize for my healing, He paid the prize for my prosperity and business to flourish. I am no longer under the yoke of satan, my business can no more be limited by the devil anymore, I cannot be disadvantage anymore. I am free... Glory to God.

2025 WMU Focus Week
Topic: Entering into Newness Through Fasting and Prayer
Text: Ezra 8:21-23

"Then I proclaimed a fast there, at the river of Ahava, that we might humble ourselves before our God, to seek from him a right way for us, and for our little ones, and for all our substance.
For I was ashamed to ask the king for a band of soldiers and horsemen to help us against the enemy in the way, because we had spoken to the king, saying,
“The hand of our God is on all those who seek him, bringing good, but his power and his wrath are against all those who forsake him”.
So we fasted and prayed to our God for this, and he heard our prayer."

Fasting, is a spiritual discipline that has to do with abstaining from food and drinks. In the Old Testament, fasting was one way the jews employed to draw near to God.

* Reasons Why People Fast
People fast for various reasons, some fast because they desire to know God better, while some others fast because of the presence of satanic activities in and around them. Some also fast when in need of either a job or contract, some fast, when they are to appear before their superiors for favor, some fast when they or their loved ones are down with sickness in other to seek God's will, some yet fast, when they have the desire to start a new business or enter into a new office.

* Someone once said: "For every new level, there is a new devil."
For the new devil to be moved, you dont need English language, educational background or family background does not matter. The devil will only listen and move out of your way, when you come with a greater force. Only through supernatural intervention will your way be clear. Remember "the weapons of our welfare are not carnal, but they are mighty through Christ Jesus to the pulling down of strongholds'
When you fast therefore, you gather mometom, the strength needed to be able to face the pending threat, danger or demons that seeks to stop you on your way up.

Ezra know this, and he decided to involve God in their journey. They had just found favor in the sight of the king who has just releasesd them to return to their native land. Ezra was in tune with God and he enjoyed su open. Now the highway, was known to be very dangerous because ofpernatural favor from both God and man. There was several bandit activities, highway rubbery going on in the road Ezra was to travel in, and as we know it, the wealth the king had committed into his hands for the building of the Temple at Jerusalem was massive. He needed first, the security of those traveling with him and second, the security of the gold, silver, bronze and other building materials that was in his possession.
The scripture says in Psalms 65:2
"O you who hear prayer,
to you all flesh will come."
He led the people of God to fast and pray for their safety, and God answered their prayers.

Types of Fasting
There exist different kinds of fasting
1. Total or Absolute fast: this involves abstaining from all kinds of food, drinks and pleasure
2. Moist or water fast: this involves taking water intermitently,
3. Partial fast: this involves staying away from certain food, for example taking only palp.
4. Fruit fast: this involves eating or using fruits to break and this kind maybe for a long time fast,
5. Social media fast: you can abstain from social media for a certain period as long as the fast last. Etc.
