The Womb Of The Morning!
God Will Keep You. 12th October 2020

The Lord can keep you, and he will keep you. What will he keep you from? Anything that might ultimately harm you. People were harmed on the way to Jerusalem, and you will be harmed following in the footsteps of Christ (John 16:33). But if you are God’s, nothing can ultimately harm you anymore, because nothing — neither death, nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor anything that threatens you — can separate you from the love of God in Christ Jesus (Romans 8:38–39).

If God is your keeper, he is “your shade on your right hand” (Psalm 121:5), meaning no one is nearer to you than the one who keeps you. Nothing can come between you and your God. “The sun shall not strike you by day, nor the moon by night” (Psalm 121:6). This is the writer’s way of saying, “No weapon that is fashioned against you shall succeed” (Isaiah 54:17) — no weapon of man, no weapon of Satan, no danger in nature can keep God from keeping you.

Nothing day or night, for as long as you walk through the valley of the shadow of death, can rob you of your life or his love. Even when you have to sleep, surrendering all awareness and control of your circumstances, “He who keeps you will not slumber. Behold, he who keeps Israel will neither slumber nor sleep” (Psalm 121:3–4).

What Should I Know/Do?

Jesus says, “Do not fear those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul” (Matthew 10:28). Evil can (and will) harm us in this life, but it can only do so much harm. Satan can make months, or years, or even decades miserable for us, but his leash is short, and eternity long. Our flesh, our relationships, our feelings are painfully vulnerable for now, but our souls are perfectly and perpetually safe. “He will keep your life” (Psalm 121:7) — the life that matters most, the most satisfying and meaningful life, the one that lasts forever.

Lifting Weights

Dear Lord, I need you every hour, every moment, every day. Beauty for ashes, you shoulder the burden of the pure and contrite heart. I am so glad that you are before me and behind me. Your loving kindness has never failed me, thank You Jesus. You promised us companionship so today, I am not afraid of what may come my way because You are already there with me, guiding my step and lighting my path. Lord, as many suffering, afraid, in pains, show them Yourself. Draw all men to Yourself. I look unto You for everything. Thank You Jesus. Amen

Note Worthy:: Psalm 121:1-8, 1 Peter 1:3-5, John 17:11

Jesus prayed, and continues to pray, for your keeping, “I am no longer in the world, but they are in the world, and I am coming to you. Holy Father, keep them in your name” (John 17:11). You have an inheritance “imperishable, undefiled, and unfading” that God is keeping for you. And God is keeping you for it (1 Peter 1:3–5).

The Womb Of The Morning!
The Ancient Righteousness Of Our God! 11th October 2020

In a culture that celebrates newness and excitement as inalienable rights, we are tempted to believe that living an ordinary life of faithfulness to an ancient God is a stale alternative. But an ordinary life of faithfulness to an extraordinary God is anything but stale. God cares deeply for us, his people, and lives devoted to making much of him are full of joy. David tells us, “Let those who delight in my righteousness shout for joy and be glad and say evermore, ‘Great is the Lord, who delights in the welfare of his servant!’” (Psalm 35:27).

When we obsess over the latest smartphone technologies or the never-ending cycle of new, breaking news, we lose sight of the righteousness of our God, devoting our hearts and minds to flashes of brilliance that will disappear as soon as we reach out to grasp them. But when we delight in the ancient righteousness of our God, we shout for joy, and we feel the delight he has in our welfare.

It is easy to feel ashamed for living a “boring” life of faithfulness to an ancient God, a life defined by a quiet pursuit of holiness and humility. But we shouldn’t feel discouraged by our ordinary lives of faithfulness, for the fruit of our ordinary faithfulness in this temporary life is everlasting joy.

What Should I Know/Do?

In Jesus’s parable of the talents, the master says to his servant, “Well done, good and faithful servant. You have been faithful over a little; I will set you over much. Enter into the joy of your master” (Matthew 25:21). May God make us content living ordinary lives of faithfulness instead of reaching for novelties and clutching the wind. No novelty can rival the joy our Master has stored up for us.

Lifting Weights

Dear Lord, I thank You for this timely reminder. Nothing compares to the promise I have in You. You are glorious, wonderful and beautiful. I inclined my ears to your precepts and my heart to your word. Lord, I trust in You with all of my heart and I ask for Your grace to stand and follow Your laid down path for my life. Today Lord, deliver us from the seductive perfume of discontentment, wooing us to find fulfillment in fleeting fancies instead of You, Our eternal creator. Grace for increased joy and excitement in You we receive today as we go out seeking your face, glorifying your Holy Name in Jesus Christ name. Amen!

Note Worthy:: Psalm 16:11, Ecclesiastic 2:4-11, Psalms 35:27

True fulfillment is found in an ordinary life of serving an extraordinary God, not an extravagant life of novel distractions.

The temptation to find fulfillment in the temporary is strong in our age of extraordinary novelty. But novelty is the seductive perfume of discontentment, wooing us to find fulfillment in fleeting fancies instead of the one who is eternal. May we find satisfaction and fulfilment in God.

The Womb Of The Morning!
Room For Self-Evaluation. 10th October 2020.

The devil always have a way to make us feel free and live the way we do with justifiable reasons for our actions. When Satan asked God for permission to hurt Job, the context was that Job was a blameless man (Job 1:1) — meaning that the sufferings that came to him were not disciplinary as a response to some sin that he was walking in. It was God’s way of giving Job the opportunity to show the value of God over his health, over his family, over his prosperity. However, over time, the suffering of Job was such that it did stir up in Job the sediment of remaining sinfulness, which he later clearly repented of in Job 42:5–6: “I had heard of you by the hearing of the ear, but now my eye sees you; therefore I despise myself, and repent in dust and ashes.”

This, I think, will prove true for all of us. Whether the suffering in our lives is chastisement for some specific sin, or whether the suffering is an opportunity to glorify God through faith and patience, in both cases, we’re going to discover remnants of sinfulness in our lives, which we should repent of and move beyond.

Whenever suffering comes into our lives, as the elect, loved, justified, secure children of God, there are two kinds of temptations, not just one: One is to neglect the suffering as an opportunity for proving our steadfastness of faith and patience. The other is to fear that we are being condemned and not being treated as the children of God.

What Should I Know/Do?

We are encouraged to establish ourselves in the word of God, in the redeeming work of Christ, in the sealing work of the Holy Spirit, and in the walk of holiness, in order to grow in our confidence that we are God’s children, and if children, then heirs, for sure, knowing that we must suffer with him on the way to being glorified with him (Romans 8:16–17).

Lifting Weights

Dear Lord, You are God. The great deliverer, mighty creator. Thank You for all You are to us. I don't want to be right for I am wrong from the very beginning choosing earthly knowledge over Your presence and fellowship which prompted the sacrifice of Your dear son for my salvation and redemption. Lord, I receive grace for a constant self evaluation. Take away my character flaws in Your eyes. I want to live a life approved by You, a life above sin. Teach me to always walk the path of love and run to You in repentance from every known sin. Save and rescue the world from the tyranny of sin. Show us all your salvation. Today, lead, guide and direct our path as we walk in newness of life. Bless every home and strengthen every heart living for You in Jesus Christ name. Amen!

Note Worthy:: Psalm 19:12; 139:23–24, Job 42:5-6, John 9:3, 2 Corinthians 12:8-9

From Job's story, we need all the encouragement we can get from the Scriptures to believe that God is our Father, and that he will never cast us away, and that afflictions are for our good.

Positive Inspiration

God may discern a specific pattern of sin in our lives to which he directly responds with some kind of trouble or suffering in our lives to wake us up, and refine us, and to heal us, and to bring us to repentance because he loves us. As it says in Hebrews 12:6, “The Lord disciplines the one he loves, and chastises every son whom he receives.”

The Womb Of The Morning!
Our Calling To Be Counter-Neutral. 9th October 2020

When Jesus called the disciples to pursue greatness through the humility of serving others, he wasn’t merely calling them to be countercultural; he was calling them to be counter-natural — or better, to be supernatural. None of us is born with this character quality. If Jesus’s humility ethic seems alien, it’s because it is. It is the ethic of a foreign kingdom (Matthew 18:1), a better country (Hebrews 11:16).

Actually, that’s not exactly right. It’s more accurate to say that humility is the ethic of a former kingdom. For the kingdom of heaven was the original administration of earth, and humility was the ethic of Eden. The domain of darkness (Colossians 1:13) is the actual foreign kingdom that staged a coup at the forbidden tree by enticing Adam and Eve to stop trusting fully in God and start leaning on their own understanding (Proverbs 3:5). And the foreign kingdom’s pride ethic prevailed.

But the Bible tells us that humility will once again be the prevailing ethic of the future kingdom, when the evil foreign power is at last overthrown, and every knee bows to the supremely humble King of kings (Philippians 2:5–11). When we finally see him, we will know that the greatest in the kingdom of heaven indeed is the servant of all.

What Should I Know/Do?

We’ve all heard some version of the adage “pride blinds.” That’s exactly what it does. Pride keeps sinful man from seeing God (Psalm 10:4). Pride keeps us from seeing our approaching fall (Proverbs 16:18). Pride is the light in the eyes of a wicked heart (Proverbs 21:4), and “if then the light in you is darkness, how great is the darkness!” (Matthew 6:23).

Lifting Weights

Dear Lord, in the name of Jesus Christ I receive the spirit of humility. I kick out every spirit of pride that have attached itself to my calling, my life and spirit. I receive the Spirit of Boldness against every forces working against my reaching out to proclaim the kingdom of God and the Lordship Of Christ. I am a light to show others the light. Today Lord, equip me for Your glory. Deliver me from shame. Reveal Your heart and thought to me. Strengthen my heart for Your work and deliver us from all evil in Jesus Christ name. Amen.

Note Worthy:: Psalm 25:9, Matthew 5:8, Romans 12:3, Phil 2:5-8

The humble person accurately sees God’s place, his own place, and everyone else’s place in the world. The humble person sees himself as a sinner in desperate need of God’s mercy, and having received it through the supremely humble servanthood of God in Christ (Philippians 2:5–8), finds it more blessed to give to others than to receive so that they might maximally enjoy the mercy of God forever too (Acts 20:35).

The Womb Of The Morning!
The Secret To Gospel Peace and Contentment. 8th October 2020

The secret to Christian peace and contentment is not concealed knowledge only revealed to those who achieve higher degrees of holy enlightenment. This secret is hidden in plain sight throughout the Scripture and is available to anyone who is willing to believe it.

God has not only gone public with this secret, but he invites us and longs for us to know it. He does not want us to merely know about this secret — not to merely preach it, explain it, enjoy the idea of it, or wish for it — but to know it by experience.

Jesus described the kind of experience he wants us to know:

“Therefore I tell you, do not be anxious about your life, what you will eat, nor about your body, what you will put on. . . . [For] your Father knows that you need them. Instead, seek his kingdom, and these things will be added to you.” (Luke 12:22, 30–31)

Paul, from prison, shared his experience of the secret with all who would listen:

“I have learned in whatever situation I am to be content. I know how to be brought low, and I know how to abound. In any and every circumstance, I have learned the secret of facing plenty and hunger, abundance and need. I can do all things through him who strengthens me.” (Philippians 4:11–13)

The secret to contentment is very simple. And it does not require heroic acts of piety. No, in fact it requires a childlike response from us. The secret is beautifully summed up in this phrase: “Trust in the Lord with all your heart” (Proverbs 3:5).

What Should I Know/Do?

God designed us to operate on trust. We are reasoning creatures made in God’s image. But God did not make us gods; he made us in small measure like God. He did not give us his capacities to contain all knowledge and all wisdom. We only contain very small amounts of each. Nor did he give us his power to bring into being whatever we wish. Our power is very limited. God designed us to trust him in whatever knowledge, wisdom, and strength he provides us and to trust his knowledge, wisdom, and strength when ours reach their limits.

Lifting Weights

Dear Lord, I thank You for today. We are alive because You care. Thank You for strength. Lord, the secret to peace and contentment is trusting in You. Lord, I trust You. I can boldly declare that I have no other god besides You. I know what You didn't give me is not mine, where You didn't take me, I will not be there and what ever You can't do remains undone. My trust is unparalleled and matchless. Lord, give all same trust. You are our firm foundation. Help our faith to be deeply rooted in You. Help our unbelief. Today, help us to trust in You to receive all You have in store. Be Glorified Dear Lord in Jesus Christ name. Amen!

Note Worthy:: Proverbs 3:5-6, Luke 12:22, 30–31, Phil 4:11-13

No matter who we are, no matter what our gifts and abilities, no matter what our background, it all really does come down to trusting God with all our heart. If we trust him, our hearts will not be sinfully troubled (John 14:1). And trusting is simple. But it is by no means easy.

Positive Inspiration

We do not need to understand the “why” to every command of God or be able to answer every objection or shadow of doubt cast upon God’s word. But we do need to trust God and therefore obey him. In fact, God is particularly glorified when, in the face of disorienting temptation, we do not fully understand God’s reasons and we trust and obey him anyway — we rest our reason on the Reason of God.

The Womb Of The Morning!
Love, Our Greatest Passion. 7th October 2020

Love is the most important thing in the universe. This is our testimony of experiencing God’s love, as the apostle John says: “We love because he first loved us” (1 John 4:19). Knowing Jesus and loving him matters more than anything else in our lives.

To be sure, other things are important. Faithful theology matters, walking in integrity matters, loving the church matters, a healthy marriage and good parenting matter — but what is knowledge and integrity and helping others when our hearts are not enthralled by Jesus? What lasting, sustainable impact will any of these things have if our hearts are not overcome by the glory of God’s grace? What is our understanding of the cross if the bleeding-dying-raising mercy of Christ doesn’t captivate our soul’s deepest gaze?

The deepest desires of the redeemed heart perhaps find no truer expression than in the words of Psalm 73:23–28. “Whom have I in heaven but you?” verse 25 goes, “And there is nothing on earth that I desire besides you.” The verse becomes both our anthem, and our earnest prayer. “Lord, I want to yearn for you,” we plead and sing.

Better then, by God’s grace, is that our knowledge of God — and our holiness and our serving and our relationships — flow from a life consumed by our Savior. This is the life surrendered to his supremacy, the life of grace that yearns for the One who gives us our life and breath, the One in whom we live and move.

What Should I Know/Do?

In our longing, is where we confess that Jesus is better than anything in the world. Here is where we stop and say that whatever it is that we have going on in our lives, of all the good things God has given us, Jesus is absolutely better.

Lifting Weights

Dear Lord, You have shown me the path that leads to life, as I am living in it. Your presence is fullness of joy and Your right hand, pleasures forevermore. Take me to a deeper delight in You for You are worthy of all our praises. Lord, bring to us a sweetness surpassing all the seductive delights that we once pursued. Enable us to love you with all our strength that we may clasp your hand with all our hearts. You, Lord, are our king and our God forever and we are awe struck of your matchless love. We love You as we bless Your righteous name. Amen!

Note Worthy:: Romans 5:8, Psalms 73:23-28, 1 John 4:19, John 3:16

This is our testimony of experiencing God’s love, as the apostle John says: “We love because he first loved us” (1 John 4:19).
