TODAY’S TOPIC: UNDERSTANDING THE TERM “LAST DAYS” 2

Devotional Text:
‭‭1 Corinthians‬ ‭10‬:‭11‬ ‭KJV
“Now all these things happened unto them for ensamples: and they are written for our admonition, UPON WHOM THE ENDS OF THE WORLD HAS COME.

✅ GOD’S WORD FOR YOU TODAY
Yesterday we saw that Hebrews declared Jesus died at the end of the world to set us free from sin and now we see that Apostle Paul is stating clearly that the end of the world has come upon them. This shows that they knew that what Jesus was talking about in Matthew 24 wasn’t the close of the global world but the end of a dispensation, age or era. What’s significant about the destruction of the temple or the Holy City Jerusalem ? What’s significant about the close of that era of the rule of law of Moses?

Israel from onset has always disobeyed God by worshipping idols to killing God’s prophets sent to them. Here, God came by Himself in the person of Jesus and they rejected him and went ahead to crucify Him. He was their Messiah but they rejected Him. They were expecting the likes of Samson, David etc who will lead them to war and deliver them from the oppression of the Roman Empire. Since Jesus didn’t come like that he was the target of their killings

Jesus said in Matthew 23:35,36 that this generation will reap the sins of their fathers from the blood of Abel to that of Zachariah. So their wickedness has come to the fullest and God was going to punish them. This will also make the end of sacrifices because there can’t be 2 high priest. Jesus was the only high priest but they were still offering sacrifices after Jesus resurrected. So the destruction of Jerusalem which was regarded as the end of the world occurred and the signs that Jesus said would follow before that all happened in that generation. Signs of false prophets, pestilences, famine, spread of the gospel etc. (Tomorrow we will see the fulfillment of some of the signs of the end times being fulfilled in the times of Jesus disciples. )
We are in the days of the glory of the church establishing God’s Kingdom. We are not in the days of the evil end times.

✅ ACTION STEPS
Pray for the understanding of the Spirit to rest on your mind. Pray that God would grant us access to Truth to transform the world and make his kingdom established on earth as it is in heaven.

TODAY’S TOPIC: UNDERSTANDING THE TERM “LAST DAYS” 1

Devotional Text:
Hebrews‬ ‭9‬:‭26‬ ‭KJV‬‬
“for then must he often have suffered since the foundation of the world: but now once in the END OF THE WORLD hath he appeared to put away sin by the sacrifice of himself.”

✅ GOD’S WORD FOR YOU TODAY
Like we always say, Man is God’s authority on earth. Therefore, this earth responds to the belief system of the men in it especially the believers. When believers believe wrongly, it affects the whole system and foundation of the world because their prayers will be in opposition with what God wants.

Many great preachers and believers in the 16th down to the 18th century died of diseases and were impoverished because they weren’t aware or opened to the revelation of Christ finished works as it concerns healing and prosperity

When that revelation came to the church we saw and have been seeing many healthy and prosperous lives. In the same vein, believers have allowed evil prevail in societies with the excuse that we are in the “last days” and Jesus talked about it being evil. Looking at our opening scriptures, Hebrews 9:26, It says Jesus came at the END OF THE WORLD, to sacrifice himself for us. So 2,000 years ago was already called the end of the world. Why will the Bible say Jesus came to die for us at the end of the world? This already shows that there’s something we’ve been missing here.

In Matthew 24, Jesus gave signs that will mark the end of the world, what world was ending? It wasn’t the end of the globe Jesus was referring to but the end of an age or era. It was the end of the era of the law which was prophesied throughout the Old Testament and if you read from Matthew chapter 22 & 23, you’ll see Jesus prophesied woe to them because they rejected Him in Israel and he said the repercussions will be deadly for them.

Lastly, after Jesus spoke about all the prophecies he said something we must never forget. Matthew‬ ‭24‬:‭34‬ ‭KJV “Verily I say unto you, THIS GENERATION shall not pass, till all these things be fulfilled.” Bible scholars will tell you that a generation is 40 years. So Jesus was talking to the people listening to him that they will experience all the wars, pestilences, false prophets, the worst tribulations ever recorded but funny enough we have pushed these events to future events and to our time. These events that Jesus spoke about have been fulfilled in 70AD but why are we seeing them also repeating itself now (Tomorrow we continue).

Isaiah‬ ‭9‬:‭7‬ ‭KJV‬‬
“Of the increase of his government and peace there shall be no end, upon the throne of David, and upon his kingdom, to order it, and to establish it with judgment and with justice from henceforth even for ever. The zeal of the LORD of hosts will perform this.”

✅ GOD’S WORD FOR YOU TODAY
Growing up I always heard this world will get worse till Jesus comes and raptures the saints. However, scriptures like our devotional text talks about the increase of Jesus’ government and peace having no end. This moved me to really search what the issue was. If Jesus’ government and Kingdom is actually gaining grounds and triumphing why will we believe in more wars and hostilities being on the increase?

As believers deep down in our heart we seek answers. We believe in a utopian environment. What I mean is if we ever get to a wicked community and preach Christ there and everyone there receives salvation, stops idol worship, stops alcoholism and other social vices, seeing peace and prosperity we will spread the news of total transformation and rejoice. At the same instance when we hear of terrible killings and wars we also relax saying it’s the signs of the end times. So we see God as good and bad.

However, God is completely good and his great intentions for sending Jesus Christ is so that we who he created can re-establish His authority on earth. God wants the spread of the gospel to affect mankind until evil is reduced to its barest minimum. The next big thing that will happen on earth is NOT THE RAPTURE! IT IS THE MANIFESTATION OF THE SONS OF GOD (Romans 8:19). Where society will be transformed until we see the will of God done in earth as it is in heaven. This is our responsibility.

✅ ACTION STEPS
Pray that the stronghold of the increase of evil on earth that has held your mind be broken in Jesus name. Pray that the Spirit of God will grant you access to the realities of the Truth of the kingdom of God and it’s massive increase on earth.

TODAY’S TOPIC: A MORE GLORIOUS FUTURE ON EARTH

Devotional Text:
Isaiah‬ ‭60‬:‭1‬ ‭KJV‬‬
“Arise, shine; for thy light is come, and the glory of the LORD is risen upon thee.”

✅ GOD’S WORD FOR YOU TODAY
It is difficult to explain when I see that it is only in Christendom that darkness overcomes light. This is a very disturbing fact that I feel we need to re-examine. Naturally, darkness doesn’t exist. Darkness is just the absence of light. Once light comes darkness exits the scene. Why then can believers who are the light of the world increase the intensity of their light and yet we call this world a dark, dying and perishing world?

Does it mean our light is too dim to make this world a better place? How can righteous men increase and wicked men increase more? Many of us have been told that Jesus prophesied this reality in Matthew 24 as the signs of the end times but I make bold to say, it’s a misconception and misinterpretation of scriptures which will be corrected in this series. Another scripture that is being also misinterpreted is Isaiah 60:2KJV. “For, behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, and gross darkness the people: but the LORD shall arise upon thee, and his glory shall be seen upon thee.”

We’ve used this scripture to always prophesy that this earth will get darker so that believers will shine brighter. Looking at this critically, we must come to see that when we shine brighter the world can’t become darker anymore because verse 3 says “And the Gentiles shall come to thy light, and kings to the brightness of thy rising.”
‭‭Gentiles are heathen that represent darkness so once our light shines brighter we will lighten them up and they too will be lightened so the earth will be filled with light and not darkness. Hallelujah. THIS IS THE MESSAGE OF THE KINGDOM. IT INCREASES AND INFLUENCES THE EARTH.
