GRACE TO REMAIN FOCUSED ON GOD'S WORD
ACTS 13:3-8
And when they had gone through the isle unto paphos, they found a certain sorcerer, a false prophet, a Jew, whose name was Barjesus: which was with the deputy of the country, sergius paulus, a prudent man; who called for Barnabas and Saul and desired to hear the word of God. But Elymas the sorcerer... Withstood them, seeking to turn away the deputy from the faith.*
We must be deliberate about remaining focused on God's word, In our test above, Paul used God's power to prevent a sorcerer from distracting a governor from his focus on God's word. As we see in the parable of the sower, The seeds that fell on stony ground and among thorns referred to those who receive the word of God quite alright but after a while, lost their focus toss hindering the word from bearing fruits in their lives. (Matt. 13:20-22)
It is true faith and patience that will experience the manifestation of the word and promises of God in our lives. (Heb. 6:12). We are not transformed by the spirit from glory to glory into Christ image by just peeping or take a little glance at the glory or revelation of Christ. We are only transformed as we behold and remain focused on the glory of Christ (2Cor. 3'18). Both the lame man in Acts 3:2-8 and the man important in his feet in Acts 14:8-10. Focused on God's word to them, following which they receive their miracle.
it is as we continue to look into God's word that we will be able to act in line with it and experience God's blessings in our lives (James 1:25) Be deliberate about not allowing religion or some other activities distract you from remaining focused on God's word (Luke 10:41-42).
PRAYER:
Pray for yourself and other believers and ask that the Lord help us remain focused and not distracted from His word.
