THE PASTOR WHO INVITED ME TO PREACH, KIDNAPPED ME! — Rev. Dr. Uma Ukpai
There are moments in life when your divine assignment will be tested, not by unbelievers, but by those who claim to be servants of God. This was one of those moments.
I was invited by a pastor in Aba to minister in his church. Out of love and obedience to the call, I honored the invitation and went with my wife. When we arrived, things seemed normal until the unexpected happened.
They led me into a bedroom, locked the door, and kept my wife in their sitting room. Then, the so-called pastor demanded that I hand over all the money on me and the key to my car.
I looked at him and said calmly,
> “So, you invited a guest speaker to your church, locked him up, took his wife away, and now you want his money and his car key? I will only give you the key when I hear God say, ‘Give it to them.’ Until then, I won’t.”
They replied, “No problem. We will give you a drink, and when you take it, you will hear God’s voice telling you to surrender everything.”
I said, “Good. Bring the drink.”
They brought a cup containing a strange liquid poison. I looked at the cup and spoke to it with authority:
> “Thou liquid, I drink you as tea, and you must function as tea. If you go beyond the boundaries of tea, whatever God does to you, don’t call my name.”
Then I lifted the cup and declared,
> “Thou cup, from now on, you are tea!”
And I drank it.
I sat and watched them as the hours passed, until it was midnight. Then I said,
> “Now, it is my turn to demonstrate the power of the Kingdom I represent. You have given me something, and I have taken it. Now you will see who truly carries authority.”
Immediately, fear gripped them. They ran to my wife shouting, “Madam! Madam! Please come quickly! Oga is angry! He wants to kill us!”
My wife came into the room, looked at me and said,
> “You and trouble are like twins. The gate is open now, let’s go.”
I said, “Who is causing trouble here me or them? I came to preach, they locked me up, demanded money and the key to my car, and even gave me poison. Who is the lawbreaker?”
She looked at me and said, “Na you sabi.”
At that point, the pastor and his team began to beg me for their lives. And truth be told, I love it when the enemy is forced to plead for mercy before the God I serve.
My beloved, this is a reminder that no power on earth can destroy the one who carries a heavenly mandate.
If God sent you, no poison can kill you.
If God covers you, no trap can capture you.
If your time has not come, nobody can take your life!
How many of you believe that you can drink poison and it will not harm you, because you are walking in divine purpose? 🙌
