*A reflection on the readings of 8th November, 2022(Titus 2:1-8, 11-14, Psalm 37, Luke 17:7-10)*
Self-control is the ability to say 'no' to the desires and impulses of the flesh undermining the state of the temptation. That is, the ability to act right regardless what you feel inside of you. And the Spirit of God produces the fruit of self discipline in the heart of those who accommodate Him. The first reading of today shows how we should behave within the family, relate with one another in the community in order to foster peace, respect and progress in the society. Ministers are to teach sound doctrines, with faith, love, seriousness, and in steadfastness. They are to teach the older and younger women to respect and love their husbands. These help to build a formidable family and the community of believers. Brothers and sisters, self-control is necessary in our relationship with God and one another, pray for this fruit of the Spirit today and always. God bless you and heal our world.

A reflection on the readings of 4th October, 2022 The Memorial of Charles Boromeo (Philipians 3:17-4:1, Psalm 122, Luke 16:1-8)
Today's gospel shows how a steward was very smart when he heard his master will soon take his office from him, thus he planned for his exit from the office through crooked ways. Each of us is like that servant, we are entrusted with talents, opportunities and so on. We are expected to do well and be good stewards. How sensitive have you been in the responsibilities given to you to do by God. Like that servant, God will require our account of stewardship one day.
It is not the case, Jesus or the master in the parable praised a crook for been dishonest but he wants us to learn prudence in our dealings and in preparing for our eternal life.
God bless you and save our country and world from kidnappings, killings and banditry. Amen.
Fr. Terence Egwaogie.
