Sin Tastes Sweet Before It Costs You

You won't know it's sour until you taste it.

That's the trap — sin never announces its consequences upfront. It feels sweet in the moment. The woman caught in adultery didn't set out expecting exposure and shame; in the act, it felt good. It's only after that the weight of it becomes clear.

So many of us don't understand the price of our choices until we're already living in the aftermath.

But here's the mercy in it — God doesn't leave you stuck in the aftermath. He meets you there, ready to restore what the choice cost you.

Jesus Is The Breaker

Darkness doesn't like breaking. It wants to keep you exactly where you are — never rising, never advancing, never becoming what you were destined for. It thrives on captivity, not freedom.

But Jesus is the Breaker. No matter how complicated your family situation looks, that title doesn't change.

Daniel didn't walk out of the lion's den by accident — it took prayer. Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego didn't walk out of the fire unscathed by luck — it took consistency and courage. Whatever is trying to pull you down right now is not stronger than the One holding your torch.

You are the one called to carry light into your family's darkness. Keep advancing — the breaker is already ahead of you, clearing the way.

Consistency Breaks Strongholds

Generational patterns don't break by accident — they break by consistency. Showing up once a year, treating God like a vacation spot you visit when convenient, isn't what dismantles what's been assigned against your family.

God isn't asking you for a ritual. He's not interested in you performing like a parrot. He's asking for your time, your heart, your commitment — the same kind of commitment your ancestors once poured into the very things you're now trying to break free from.

Grace has been given to you. But grace works alongside prayer, not instead of it. The Bible didn't say pray occasionally — it said pray without ceasing.

Whatever stronghold has followed your family, you may be the one God is positioning to stop it.

- Small Beginnings, God-Sized Endings

Stretching soup with bitter leaf borrowed from a neighbor. Buying garri with your school transport money. A husband who could only bring bread and milk when he had it — but kept promising "we'll fly first class one day."

That's not a lack story. That's a training ground.

You can't blackmail God into giving you what He knows you don't need. He's not ignorant of your needs, but He also won't sponsor every want — because your want might be the very thing that stops your journey.

The thoughts He thinks toward you are thoughts of peace, not evil — to bring you to an expected end. Not your pastor, not your spouse, not your relative abroad — only Him. So leave the want. Rest in the One who already knows the need, and is already working the ending.
