The manner in which Papa Kumuyi spoke about his wife, Esther Kumuyi, at the Deeper Life mini congress today left me in awe. Papa spoke on several things, but one particular statement stuck with me. Daddy showered praises on her publicly and said something that got me praying. According to Papa, Mummy Esther never discourages him; she accepts his calling without complaining and also willingly fasted with him into the new year. Papa also commented on the fact that he tried to discourage his wife from joining him in the fast, but she insisted. I was astonished by that single act. How many contemporary wives will fast with their husbands? Our mothers of faith are truly worth emulating. I began to ask God to give me the grace to never discourage my future husband. The life of Mummy Esther really spoke deeply to me, and I think it's worth emulating.
