THE CHOSEN DAILY DEVOTIONAL

DATE: Monday 9th January, 2023.
TOPIC: THE ARROW OF GOD
MORNING TEXT: 1 KINGS 22:34-37

MESSAGE
God's anger also known as righteous indignation was never designed for His obedient children. Nobody can escape alive or be spared when God has deemed or doomed you for death and there is no shield or armour that will divert the arrows or darts of divine vengeance. At Ahab's point of dying, slowly all the evil he did passed before him not minding the pains of his wounds. He saw the prophecy of Micaiah coming to pass as he was dying. (All Israel scattered upon the hills like sheep without shepherd, 1 Kings 22:17). His nefarious resolution for Micaiah's imprisonment, the murder and confiscation of Naboth's vineyard etc all passed before him. Let no man think he can hide or disguise himself before God's judgment. God's hand shall find out all His enemies. Vs 34 of our text reads, "And a certain man drew a bow at a venture, and smote the king of israel between the joints of the harness..." Brethren, let us consider our actions whether they are nepotic, fustrating, nefarious, oppressive, atrocious, detestable or negate the will of God and constituted authorities. The arrow of God if it has not yet caught up with you, you really have to repent before it is too late. You can not outsmart it, you can only repent to avoid it. The Syrian soldier did not particularly aim at Ahab, but the spirit of God directed the arrows to hit the right person - Ahab. He was marked for destruction and was not be taken captive alive, but was marked for death. So shall every enemy of your life meet their doom. Good day.

PRAYER POINTS: START WITH PRAISE & WORSHIP
1. Thank God for His grace for this new day.
2. Pray to live a righteous life to avoid the arrow of God.
3. Ask God to deliver you from apostasy.
4. Pray that your enemies will never escape the arrow of God.
5. Ask God to pluck away the heart of stubbornness and disobedience from your life.

EVENING TEXT: HEB. 10:26-27
"For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins, But a certain fearful looking for of judgment and fiery indignation, which shall devour the adversaries." The punishment from God upon those who reject Christ and godly manners shall be terrible, particularly to those who wilfully or willingly reject or work against the truth of which they would have been actually convinced. It is unpardonable and an act of apostasy (opposing belief and backsliding from the faith) to see men with defiant and obstinate opposition to reject the good purposes of the gospel and saving mission of Christ because there will not be again a second atonement or sacrifice but they should look forward to a fearful looking dreadful destruction. Beloved, let us know that it is not only the devil or those the devil possesses that are enemies of Christ and the gospel but also those who will not obey or bow to His laws and precepts (Christians and heathens alike). Good night.

TOPIC: JEALOUSLY GUIDE YOUR DESTINY
MORNING TEXT: JUDGES 13:1-5

MESSAGE.
The world has lost too many great men/women who could not hold on to fulfill their destiny. Most times they could not finish strong due to want of self-discipline or lack of self control. Amongst these lots what were born great even with divine promise, only few made it to their successful end. The case of Samson was very pathetic as he could not hold the center together and things fell apart. In Judges 13:5, a divine revelation directly from an angel came to the wife of Manoah in the replica of Angel Gabriel to the Virgin Mary in Matt. 1:18-20. "And the angel of the LORD appeared unto the woman, and said unto her, Behold now, thou art barren, and bearest not: but thou shalt conceive, and bear a son". Judg. 13:3. The only difference here is this woman is married and barren, but Mary was a virgin and only betrothed/fiancée. Samson was a typology of Christ. He was a man of great destiny who had a mandate quite similar to that of Christ to judge and deliver Israel from the Philistines. But somehow and somewhere, he missed the divine purpose and messed up himself with the very enemy he was sent to exterminate or destroy. He could not control his lust and urge over the women of the Philistines. He lived carelessly like the harlot named Delilah and ended up blinded physically and died shamefully with his mission unfulfilled. Beloved, no matter your dream or vision in life, every believer is expected to seriously guide jealousy these divine dreams and revelations to bring it to pass. Do not join your enemies to destroy your dream and make you end regrettably. We need to solicit His grace to enable us stop our stoppers before they stop us. Good day.

PRAYER POINTS: START WITH PRAISE & WORSHIP.
1. Appreciate God for another new day.
2. Pray and cover your destiny with the blood of Jesus.
3. Pray for divine revelation to aid you define your goal and purposes.
4. Pray for grace to enable you excel in all your life's endeavours.
5. Pray the fire of the Holy Ghost to stop your stoppers and destroy your enemies before they get at you.

EVENING TEXT:
PROV.5:2,7-11
It is sad to know that there are many who cannot keep secrets, secret. This is the reason why many dreams, visions and destinies have been snatched and destroyed. This is why believers must maintain the habit of being discreet and live a righteous life while they remain in strict obedience. Those that will be successful in life must be able to confide within themselves the promises, visions covenanted to them by God. Verse 2 of our text reads, "That thou mayest regard discretion and that thy lips may keep knowledge". Verse 7-11 warns, "Hear me now therefore... Remove thy way far from her, and come not nigh the door of her house: Lest thou give thine honour unto others, and thy years unto the cruel: Lest strangers be filled with thy wealth; and thy labours be in the house of a stranger; And thou mourn at the last, when thy flesh and thy body are consumed". Beloved, there are powers outside there but escape from them and heed to instructions to keep you safe and successful in life. Good night.
