WALKING IN HUMILITY: LESSONS FROM BLESSED CYPRIAN IWENE TANSI

Pride, arrogance, and selfishness distance us from God. A heart filled with such vices cannot truly walk with Him. On our journey of faith, we are constantly invited to examine ourselves and uproot anything that draws us away from humility.

The life of Blessed Cyprian Iwene Tansi speaks loudly to us today. He embraced humility as a way of life, placing his total trust in God through prayer. Because he humbled himself before the Lord, God listened to him and glorified His name through his life.

Humility never diminishes us; rather, it opens the door for God’s grace. But pride and selfishness can rob us of peace, grace, and divine favor. Let us therefore choose humility, serve one another with love, and trust that God will raise us up in His perfect time.

PRAYER
Heavenly Father, cleanse my heart of pride and selfishness. Teach me to walk humbly before You and to serve others with sincerity and love.

May my life reflect Your glory, and may my prayers rise before You with favor. Through Christ our Lord. Amen.

May the blessing of Almighty God remain with us always:
✠ The Father, and the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Blessed Cyprian Iwene Tansi, pray for us! 🙏

Today, 22 February, time invites us to remember and hearts are drawn back to a wound that still aches.

Ten years ago, in 2016, tragedy struck when six Nigerian Catholic seminarians of the Vincentian Congregation lost their lives in a fatal road accident in Enugu State, Nigeria.

A burst rear tyre sent their bus somersaulting, and in a moment, dreams dedicated to God and humanity were painfully cut short. It was a day that plunged the Vincentian family and the entire Church in Nigeria into deep mourning.

Yet, even in grief, we raise our eyes in gratitude to God for the survivors whose lives were spared. As we mark this solemn anniversary, we commend our fallen brothers to the boundless mercy of God and pray earnestly for the peaceful repose of their souls, and for comfort, strength, and healing for their families, loved ones, and the Vincentian Congregation of the Nigerian Province.

Their names are written in our hearts:
1. Emeka Osisiuri
2. Joachim Ehirimeyoma
3. Emmanuel Agbo
4. Emmanuel Adah
5. Michael Nwafor
6. Emmanuel Okoli

They walked the path of service, they answered the call, and they now rest in God.

May their souls rest in perfect peace. 🕊️

TODAY IS FRIDAY ✝️

A Day of the Stations of the Cross
As we journey through this sacred season of Lent, the Stations of the Cross invite us to walk closely with Christ on His path to Calvary. It is a moment of prayer, reflection, and deep spiritual renewal.

Why is attending the Stations of the Cross important this Lenten season?

1. It deepens our reflection on Christ’s sacrifice, reminding us of the love He poured out for our salvation.
2. It strengthens our Lenten spiritual journey, helping us remain focused on prayer and conversion.
3. It encourages repentance and humility, as we reflect on our sins and God’s boundless mercy.
4. It builds compassion and patience, teaching us to carry our crosses with love.
5. It connects us with the Church community, uniting us as one Body in Christ.
6. It teaches the value of sacrifice, showing that true love is proven through self-giving.

May walking the Stations today draw us closer to the Cross and through the Cross, closer to Christ.

Through the intercession of Blessed Michael Cyprian Iwene Tansi, may our Lenten journey bear abundant spiritual fruit. 🙏✝️

DON’T PLAN TOO MUCH, EVERYTHING HAS ALREADY BEEN WRITTEN

(A Lenten Meditation for Ash Wednesday)

As Ash Wednesday dawns, the Church leads us into the quiet and searching season of Lent. With ashes on our foreheads, we are reminded of our fragility and our limits. We are dust. And dust does not control the wind; it is carried by it.

Lent invites us to slow down and examine the way we live. Many of us carry heavy plans carefully drawn paths, fixed expectations, and tightly held outcomes. Yet this holy season gently challenges us: Do we trust our plans more than we trust God?

“Don’t plan too much” is not a rejection of wisdom or responsibility. It is an invitation to surrender. It is a call to loosen our grip on the future and allow God to unfold His will in His own time.

When we over-plan, we risk closing our hearts to the surprises of grace.
Ashes speak without words. They remind us that everything human fades, but what God writes endures.
Our strength weakens, our certainty crumbles, but God remains faithful. Lent teaches us to plan less and pray more, to control less and trust more.

Many turning points in life come unannounced; a delay that saves us, a disappointment that reshapes us, a silence that draws us deeper into prayer. God often works not in what we expect, but in what we surrender.

As we begin this Lenten journey, may we fast not only from food, but from excessive worry. May we give alms not only from our possessions, but from our need to control. And may our prayers open us to the truth that God’s will is already at work within our lives.

Through the intercession of Blessed Michael Cyprian Iwene Tansi, may this season of Lent teach us to trust more deeply, to surrender more freely,
and to walk peacefully in the path God has already prepared for us. Amen 🙏

VALENTINE DAY 💖

Every February 14, hearts beat a little faster as people exchange cards, gifts, and flowers with their special valentines. Today, let’s make this Valentine’s Day unforgettable by sharing gifts, clothes, food, recharge cards, and other thoughtful items with those around us.

Use this special day to reconnect, make new friends, and celebrate our shared humanity. Be merciful and compassionate. Show love to the needy, the poor, the sick, the downtrodden, and orphans in our society.

The lives of St. Valentine and Blessed Fr. Cyprian Iwene Tansi remind us of what true love to humanity really looks like. Valentine’s Day is more than flowers and chocolates; it is a celebration of the heart, generosity, and kindness.

So, let today be about true love, not lust. Cherish the blessed moments, avoid abuse of this sacred day, and trust that God will open doors of blessings for you.

Happy Valentine’s Day and a joyful Saturday! 🌹💝
