Topic: Igniting the Revival Fire for a Change
Text: Hebrew 12:29, Malachi 3:2-3
The nature of God is fire. The Bible says in Hebrews, “For our God is a consuming fire.”
Fire represents the power, purity, and presence of God.
The fire of God does three major things:
1. Fire Refines
Fire purifies and removes impurities. God uses His fire to cleanse our hearts, character, and lives so we can become more like Him.
2. Fire Empowers
The fire of God gives strength, boldness, spiritual passion, and power to fulfill divine assignments. When revival fire comes upon a person, spiritual weakness disappears.
3. Fire Brings Judgment Upon Enemies
The fire of God also fights against darkness and every enemy of God’s purpose. Hebrews speaks about God’s fiery judgment against His adversaries.
To revive means to bring back to life, restore, or awaken something that was dead or dying. Revival happens when God breathes life again into people, churches, and nations.
Revival fire is what happens when God shows up in a situation.
When God appears, dryness turns into life, weakness turns into strength, and darkness gives way to light.
One of the keys to revival is humility and brokenness. God responds to hearts that are surrendered to Him. The Bible says in Psalms, “A broken and a contrite heart, O God, You will not despise.”
A humble heart attracts the presence and fire of God.
Another key is separation and surrender. When a person fully yields to God and separates from sin and distractions, the fire of God falls. In 1 Kings, when Elijah repaired the altar and called upon God, “the fire of the Lord fell.”
Unified expectation also brings revival.
When believers gather in one accord with hunger and expectation for God, revival is stirred. God moves powerfully where there is unity, faith, prayer, and deep desire for His presence.
Revival fire changes lives, restores destinies, awakens spiritual hunger, and brings men back to God. When the fire of revival burns, prayer becomes intense, worship becomes deeper, and hearts become passionate for God again.
