Stop praying to God as if He doesn’t want to give you what you are asking from Him. Stop praying like you have to cajole or manipulate Him to give you your heart desire. God has already given you. You receive by faith. It is not about God giving but you receiving.

Paul says in Philippians 4:6 “Be careful for nothing; but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.” The effect of your prayer is on you.

Why? It is because He loves you. He loves you more than you love your children. He is your Father. What bothers you bothers Him.

Don’t settle for just achieving “the good life,” because the good life is not good enough. Ultimately it doesn’t satisfy. You can have a lot to live on and still have nothing to live for.

Aim instead for “the better life”—serving God in a way that expresses your heart.
