*HEADLINE: USOA PRIEST WEARS A DOCTOR'S TELESCOPE!*
By Rev Fr Aloysius Solibe, USOA
They told him to choose: the prayers or the pages, the sacrament or the scalpel. But in his soul, a quiet fire said *both*.
Meet Rev Fr. Doctor Victor Ebuka Nnaemeka of the USOA Institute Auchi Diocese, Edo State, Nigeria. He is a landmark. The first USOA Institute to weave the white coat of a physician into the fabric of his priesthood, becoming a living bridge between the sanctuary and the science lab.
His journey began in secret. In the quiet hours of the Okada Novitiate, after the last prayer, medical textbooks lay open beside his breviary. This was not a distraction, but a deeper devotion—a discipline woven between Hail Marys and biochemistry. While few believed he could excel, he carried a quiet resolve that turned scepticism into a medical degree from COOUTH.
The letters after his name, B.Sc., B.A., B.Th., PGDE, MB; BS are more than titles. They are a testament to sleepless nights and a faith that would not quit. They announce a new kind of minister: one equipped to heal the body while tending the spirit.
This milestone is not his alone. It stands on the faith of visionary shepherds like Bishop Gabriel G. Dunia, and the courageous support of his Superiors, Very Rev Fr Philip Okon (Emeritus), Very Fr Henry Ogbonna and brothers in the USOA Institute. They saw not a contradiction, but a calling squared.
Fr. Victor’s path is a beacon for every young dreamer. It is permission to build quietly, to persevere fiercely, and to trust that God can make a single life into a highway for His grace. He did not just follow a path; he created one.
He is the healer with a stole, the scholar with a stethoscope. A pioneer who proves that with God, the greatest callings often wear two coats.
*We love your zeal*!
*May God sustain this gift offer to the Church*
