*DON'T PRESENT YOURSELF AS AN AGENT/VESSEL OF FACTION/DIVISION, RATHER BE ONE OF LOVE(1Cor 11:17-26. Ps 40. Luke 7:1-10)*
Again we recall St Paul's letter to Timothy, when he speaks of vessels in a large house. That some were made for special occasions, others for ordinary ones. But that if anyone keeps away from fault, such one will become a noble vessel that is holy and useful...(2Tim 2:20-21)
What kind of vessel then are you; A worthy and noble vessel or an ordinary one? Are you a useful vessel or otherwise vessel?
Now if in the house of God and in everywhere you find yourself, all you do is to bring about factions, causing division among people, you can not lay claims to us that you are a useful vessel.
When we as a group fail to champion what can make us, rather we enjoin championing things that divide us, then it is left for us to evaluate our kind of vessel.
Now if we decide to allow division and factions among us, all because we are not from the same tribe or culture even in the house of God, place of work... the we should know this fact that we are working against the prayer of Jesus for unity and Love(John 17:20-21)
The faction that exist among us Christians is a scandal and war against that prayer of Jesus. This is what St Paul calling our attention to. That we should be careful of the kind of vessel we make ourselves to be.
He therefore advocate that our coming together ought to enhance our togetherness and not to worsen or divide us, such meeting should build and not destroy us, it should also unite us and not separate us. And such coming together should be a celebration(Eucharist) of love and not hatred and malice(1Cor 11:17-21, 33).
Jesus brought about this celebration of love, mercy, compassion that will unite people. Thus, he was moved to cure that servant of a Centurion.
That same love was the thing that moved the Centurion to build the synagogue for the people and ultimately the move to seek for the wellbeing of his servant(Luke 7:1-10).
Do you help in building God's house physically or spiritually? Do you build for God or you destroy for him? Do you build for God in that poor brother/ sister? In that servant or househelp like the Centurion? Do you build for God in those working for and with you?
Remember that whatsoever you do to the least of my brother, the same you do to me(Matt 25:40,45)
May God makes us a worthy vessels of honour and Love. Amen
Good morning Beloved...God bless this new week and day for us. Amen. Shalom leka
