If you can move into something comfortably and in your own strength, not much faith is required. It is only when you’re uncomfortable or beyond what you think you can accomplish that it is necessary to stretch your faith and partner with God. It’s only when you feel over your head, out of your depth, and unsure of your own ability that you know you’ve stepped onto the path toward God’s highest and best. That’s when you will see things happen you couldn’t make happen on your own. That’s why He’s always pulling us out of our comfort zones and into something that’s bigger than we think we can do. You’re about to discover that you are far more capable than you know. And when grace adds God’s supernatural to your natural ability, that’s when miracles happen.

Have troubles and life pushed your joy down? The key to staying strong in God is through partaking in His joy every day. When Nehemiah was encouraging the people under extremely difficult circumstances in the rebuilding of the walls of Jerusalem, he said, “Celebrate with a feast…for the joy of the Lord is your strength” (Nehemiah 8:10). He knew that only the joy of the Lord could help them overcome their discouragement and anxieties, overcome hardships, setbacks, and enemy threats.

God’s faithfulness isn’t determined by your circumstances.
What you see may change. What you feel may change. But God and His Word remain the same. When He makes a promise, you can trust Him to be faithful to it.
Keep your faith anchored in His Word. Keep believing. Keep standing.

If there’s a problem in your life that is holding you back from living in God’s joy, you have to receive what God spoke through the prophet Isaiah: “Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland” (Isaiah 43:18–19). God is saying, “Do you recognize the new thing I’m doing in your life? Don’t wait to have faith until the problem takes care of itself, because I’m doing something new right now. Look for it! Watch and see what I will do. It is a new thing.”
