Matthew 12:36-37: "But I tell you that on the day of judgment people will have to give account for every careless word they have spoken.
For by your words you will be acquitted, and by your words you will be condemned."

The Bible emphasizes that our words carry weight and reveal the state of our hearts, being a key factor in our final judgment.

He was brilliant.
He was disciplined.
He wanted God with his whole mind and body.

And the Church now calls him St. Thomas Aquinas.

But Thomas was not born immune to temptation.
As a young Dominican, his family was furious that he had chosen a life of poverty and chastity.

They locked him in a tower, hoping time and isolation would break his resolve.

It didn’t.

So they tried something else.

They sent a woman to his room — beautiful, bold, and unashamed — to tempt him into lust and ruin his vocation.

Thomas felt the fire rise.

The body does not stop being human just because the soul longs for heaven.

But he did not negotiate with sin.

He grabbed a burning brand from the fireplace and drove her from the room, rebuking the temptation with action, not words.

Then he fell to his knees.

With the same fire, he traced a cross on the wall and begged God for purity — not pride, not self-confidence, but grace.

He slept.

And in that sleep, heaven answered.
Two angels appeared and girded him with a cord, saying he was granted a gift he did not earn: a special protection of chastity for the rest of his life.
From that day on, the battle quieted.

Not because desire vanished —
but because grace took the lead.

Thomas went on to become one of the greatest minds in Christian history, writing with clarity about God, virtue, and the ordering of human desire.

The man who once fled temptation with a flame now taught the world how reason and holiness can walk together.

Thomas went on to become the greatest theologian in history, proving that a mind surrendered to God is fueled by a heart that is pure. The man who refused a moment of pleasure gained an eternity of wisdom.

St. Thomas Aquinas teaches us: Purity is the guardian of truth. The battle for the mind begins with the battle for the body.
if you are surrounded by temptation…
If your environment is trying to break your will…If you need the strength to say "no" when it’s hardest…

Important Celebrations This February 2026

February is a meaningful month in the liturgical calendar, guiding us from light to repentance and renewal.

February 2 – Candlemas
We celebrate the Presentation of the Lord in the Temple. Christ is revealed as the Light of the world, and candles are blessed as a sign of hope and faith.

February 11 – Our Lady of Lourdes
A day honoring the apparitions of Mary to St. Bernadette in Lourdes, France. It is also observed as the World Day of the Sick, inviting prayers for healing and compassion.

February 18 – Ash Wednesday
The beginning of the Lenten season. We receive ashes as a sign of repentance and humility, reminding us to turn back to God with sincere hearts.

February 22 – First Sunday of Lent
The Church enters more deeply into the Lenten journey, calling us to prayer, fasting, and almsgiving as we prepare for Easter.

May these celebrations lead us closer to Christ and renew our faith throughout this holy season.

Sts. Timothy and Titus

St. Timothy was converted by St. Paul in the year A.D. 47 and Timothy became a fellow apostle with St. Paul. He was born in a place called Lystira and a son of a Greek father and a Jewish mother. Therefore Jews considered Timothy as illegitimate. He worked closely with St. Paul for about 15 years and became his trusted friend. He was with St. Paul when the Church at Corinth was founded. He was nominated by St. Paul as his representative in the Church of Ephesus. He was beaten to death by pagans, when he tried to stop a procession of idols taken out by pagans and their other ceremonies in the year 97 A.D.

St. Titus was a close friend of St. Paul and he was a Greek person from Antioch. St. Paul said that the mere presence of Titus was a moral encouragement to him. He was given the power to organize and manage the Christian community at Crete. Titus was a trouble shooter in the Church in as much as he was very able in successfully smoothening troubles in the Church at Corinth, with the help of the letter from St. Paul. Legend says that St. Paul refused to circumcise Titus. St. Paul also ordained Titus as Bishop of Gortyn in Crete. He died in the year A.D. 107 at the age of about 95 years.
