THEME: AUDACITY( Day 1)
Topic: SEEING THROUGH THE EYES OF GOD Text: 2 Kings 6:16-17 "Fear not: for they that be with us are more than they that be with them."
1 Samuel 16:7 (KJV) "But the LORD said unto Samuel, Look not on his countenance, or on the height of his stature... for man looketh on the outward appearance, but the LORD looketh on the heart."
- Audacity is not arrogance. Audacity is the boldness that comes from seeing what God sees.
- True strength is not in your physical strength, it's in your spiritual strength
- Many people live defeated lives because they only see what their physical eyes can see.
They see limitations, impossibilities, weaknesses, rejection, and failure.
But God never evaluates a person by their present condition; He evaluates them by their divine potential.
- When a man begins to see through God's eyes, fear dies, doubt disappears, and boldness rises.
- Audacity is born when your vision aligns with God's vision.
The difference between ordinary people and world changers is often not ability but perspective.
What Does It Mean To See Through The Eyes Of God?
It means to see people, situations, and yourself according to God's purpose rather than according to present realities.
Faith sees what God sees before others see it.
2 Corinthians 5:7
"For we walk by faith, not by sight."
- God never starts with what you are; He starts with what you can become.
1. Where Men Saw A Persecutor, God Saw A Preacher
Acts 9:15
"But the Lord said unto him, Go thy way: for he is a chosen vessel unto me..."
- Everyone knew Saul as a dangerous enemy of the church.
-Christians saw a murderer.
-The religious community saw a persecutor.
But God saw a chosen vessel.
-God looked beyond Saul's violence and saw Paul the Apostle.
-Where others saw destruction, God saw destiny.
Audacity begins when you stop judging yourself by your past and start seeing yourself through God's purpose.
2. Where Men Saw A Harlot, Jesus Saw An Evangelist
John 4:28-29
"The woman then left her waterpot, and went her way into the city, and saith to the men, Come, see a man..."
The Samaritan woman was rejected by society.
People saw shame.
People saw failure.
People saw immorality.
But Jesus saw a messenger.
The woman who came to draw water became a carrier of revival.
The same woman everyone avoided became the voice that brought a city to Christ.
God sees purpose where men see problems.
3. Where Men Saw An Ordinary Virgin, God Saw The Carrier Of The Messiah
Luke 1:30-31
"Fear not, Mary: for thou hast found favour with God."
Mary was an unknown village girl.
She had no political influence.
She had no social status.
But God saw a womb that could carry His purpose.
God often hides extraordinary destinies inside ordinary people.
Never despise yourself because of your present position.
God specializes in placing greatness inside ordinary vessels.
4. Where Men Saw A Carpenter's Son, God Saw The Saviour Of The World
Matthew 13:55
"Is not this the carpenter's son?"
People reduced Jesus to His earthly background.
They saw His family.
They saw His hometown.
They saw His occupation.
But Heaven saw the Lamb of God.
People often evaluate you by where you came from.
God evaluates you by where He is taking you.
5. Where Men Saw A Madman, God Saw The Builder Of An Ark
Genesis 6:14
"Make thee an ark of gopher wood..."
For over a hundred years Noah built an ark where there was no rain.
People mocked him.
People laughed at him.
People called him foolish.
But Noah saw what God saw.
His audacity saved an entire generation.
When you see through God's eyes, you can endure the ridicule of men because you know the outcome God has shown you.
6. Where Men Saw A Child Born In Controversy, God Saw The Wisest King
2 Samuel 12:24
"And she bare a son, and he called his name Solomon: and the LORD loved him."
Solomon's story began in controversy.
Many people would have written him off because of the circumstances surrounding his birth.
But God saw wisdom.
God saw royalty.
God saw greatness.
Your beginning does not determine your ending.
God's vision is greater than your history.
7. People saw the woman with the issue of blood, but God saw a miracle
Why I Must See Through God's Eyes
A. You See Possibilities Instead Of Problems
Jeremiah 32:27 "Behold, I am the LORD, the God of all flesh: is there any thing too hard for me?"
B. You See Purpose Instead Of Pain
Romans 8:28 "And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God..."
C. You See Destiny Instead Of Difficulty
Philippians 1:6 "Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it..."
Conclusion
The greatest limitation in life is not what surrounds you; it is how you see.
-David saw a giant and saw an opportunity.
-Elisha saw an army and saw angelic reinforcements.
-Gideon saw weakness, but God saw a mighty man of valour.
WHEN YOU SEE THROUGH THE EYES OF GOD:
- Where others see failure, you see victory.
- Where others see weakness, you see strength.
- Where others see rejection, you see selection.
- Where others see the end, you see a new beginning.
- where others saw the scar, you see a record breaker
Audacity is born the moment your eyes begin to agree with God's eyes
