Cellphones, Social media and the Church:
I remember while growing as a child it was the era of print media and television. Now raising our own children it is the era of cellphones and social media.
That's life, there's nothing new under heaven, we're just recycling things giving it new names and faces.
The Church and its clergy men cannot stop social media and cellphones. No amount of our prayers and criticism can stop our youth from using it. It has come to stay. It has it's good and bad.
As matter of facts most clergymen are addicted to cellphones and social media than the young people they castigated. No need pretending.
I think the church and its clergymen should focus on teaching our young ones to be cellphones and social media pure in a morally corrupt world like ours in which we're to shine as light.
If Job could make a vow not to look at a strange woman (Job 31:1). We too can make a vow to use social media and cellphones with the fear of God.
We should know our limits as children of God, what to see and what not to see, what to hear and what not to hear, who to follow and who not to follow.
Our holiness message is not complete if we overlook social media and cellphones. There's a lot attached to it, its a world of its own, things that God hates are there, lust of the eyes, lust of the flesh and pride of this life.
But as God's children we can be cellphones and social media wise and pure if we care to do so. Let this message gets to every Christian homes and churches.
Your fellow servants in Christ.
