TEN THINGS EVERY CHRISTIAN SHOULD KNOW ABOUT HABITS.

1. A habit is an ACT THAT IS REPEATED EASILY without thinking or planning.

2. A habit is an ACT THAT BECOMES YOUR CUSTOM whether you are conscious of it or
not.

3. A habit is often AN INSIGNIFICANT ACT THAT SEEMS TO HAVE NO POWER to affect
the future. This is why many people do not recognize the concept of having good habits as a powerful tool for future accomplishments.

4. A habit can EITHER BE GOOD OR BAD, NATURAL OR SPIRITUAL. Spiritual habits are
things like morning prayer and having a daily quiet time. Natural habits are things like brushing your teeth and having your daily bath.

5. GOOD HABITS ARE REPEATED AS EASILY AS BAD HABITS.

6. BAD HABITS LEAD TO CONSISTENT FAILURE AND DEFEAT without the person
realizing what is happening.

7. GOOD HABITS LEAD TO CONSISTENT SUCCESS AND VICTORY without the person
even realizing what he is doing.

8. Bad habits are easy to form but difficult to live with. GOOD HABITS ARE DIFFICULT TO
FORM BUT EASY TO LIVE WITH.

9. EVERY SUCCESSFUL CHRISTIAN HAS A NUMBER OF GOOD HABITS THAT have
brought him to success. Many years ago, a friend of mine taught me how to have a quiet time with God every morning. I developed that as a personal habit and it has been my greatest secret as a Christian and later as a minister. Almost all the things I preach about come as a result of this good habit.

10. HABITS ARE A SAFETY PROCEDURE FOR CHRISTIANS. This is because even when a
leader is under pressure, he will do certain good things habitually, naturally and easily. When under pressure, the leader may not have time to think of what to do or how to act. It is a good habit of prayer or quiet time that may lead him out of difficulty. Just like Jesus, I also have a place I often go to pray. I also often go with my pastors. This habit helps keep me spiritually protected even when I am not aware of danger.

TOPIC: *MINISTRY IS NOT A RACE AGAINST OTHER PASTORS*

Galatians 6:4–5, John 21:21–22
When Peter asked Jesus about John’s future, Jesus replied, “What is that to thee? Follow thou me.” (John 21:22).
This shows clearly that ministry is personal. It is a calling — not a competition.

1. Every Pastor Has a Different Assignment
No two callings are exactly the same.
Apostle Adeniyi Adewale called and ordained by God to preach deliverance from sin, sickness and demons.
Jeremiah was sent to nations.
David was sent to a kingdom.
Peter was sent to the Jews.
Paul was sent to the Gentiles.
You cannot compare different assignments.

2. Comparison Breeds Competition
When pastors compare:
Attendance
Offerings
Church buildings
Social media presence
It leads to jealousy, insecurity, and unnecessary pressure.
2 Corinthians 10:12 says those who compare themselves among themselves are not wise.

3. God Measures Faithfulness, Not Size
In Matthew 25, the master rewarded servants based on faithfulness — not who had the most.
He said, “Well done, good and faithful servant.”
Not “well done, biggest servant.”

4. Competition Destroys Relationships
When ministry becomes a race:
Unity suffers
Brotherhood dies
Suspicion grows
Dishonor increases
Psalm 133 reminds us that blessing flows where there is unity.
5. Focus on Your Lane
Just like in athletics, runners win by staying in their lane.
If you leave your lane to look at others, you lose focus.
Your race:
Your grace
Your capacity
Your timing
Your calling

6. Celebrate Other Pastors
Instead of competing:
Pray for them
Support them
Learn from them
Celebrate their growth
Another pastor’s success does not reduce your calling.

CONCLUSION------
Ministry is not about who is bigger, faster, or more popular.
It is about obedience, faithfulness, and finishing your assignment well and strong.
At the end, God will not ask: “Why were you not like Pastor A?”
He will ask: “Did you fulfill what I gave you?”
Stay faithful. Stay focused. Stay humble.

HOW MUCH DOES A CUP OF HATRED COST

I never knew it was that costly. I wanted to know the cost of HATRED, so I decided to branch to a shop where it's being sold.

As a good Businessman who was looking for a buyer, the Sales man rushed out to ask what I wanted.

I told him I wanted just a cup of hatred, and then he smiled and asked if I can afford it.

'How much does a cup cost?' I asked?! Hmmmmm! He took in a deep breath, then started:
1. It will first of all take away your inner peace.

2. It will cost you incurable worries.

3. It will eat up your heart.

4. You will be deeply bitter whenever you set your eyes on the person you hate.

5. When others are celebrating him or her, you will always be looking for why he or she doesn't deserve it.

6. You will become so weak and tired of seeing the person.

7. Whenever he or she laughs, you will be sad.

8. While others are busy planning their future, you will be busy looking for how to pull him or her down.

9. The Spirit of God will leave you and you will attract devils & demons.

10. You will begin to have different health issues like High Blood Pressure, Diabetics, Stroke, Cancer, Liver Disease, Kidney Disease, etc, as long as you drink from the cup of Hatred, Bitterness, Grudge, Unforgiveness, Malice, Anger, Jealousy, Envy, & Resentment.

11. Worse still, prayers or drugs cannot help much because you have disobeyed the natural and supernatural laws.

12. It can lead to death.

The seller was still counting what a cup of hatred will cost me, when I shunned him, realizing how EXPENSIVE hatred is.

I left because I knew deep down I could not afford it.

I refuse to pay such a huge amount when I can LOVE so easily and cheaply.

Friends, don't allow anybody or anything take away your joy and sell or give you hatred.

Avoid gossips, bitterness, anger, etc. because a lot of times, it is what you hear about somebody that breeds hatred.

Choose Love, Choose life.

*THE IMPORTANCE OF A SPIRITUAL FATHER*

A spiritual father is a mature, seasoned servant of God who provides guidance, covering, correction, and spiritual oversight to a believer or minister. In Scripture, spiritual fatherhood is a divine pattern for growth and stability.

1. Provides Spiritual Guidance
A spiritual father gives direction in confusing seasons.
“Where no counsel is, the people fall: but in the multitude of counsellors there is safety.” — Proverbs 11:14
Paul guided Timothy in doctrine, ministry, and conduct (1 Timothy 1:2).
Guidance prevents costly mistakes.

2. Offers Spiritual Covering
Spiritual covering means accountability and protection.
“Obey them that have the rule over you… for they watch for your souls.” — Hebrews 13:17
A spiritual father prays, watches, and stands in the gap for spiritual sons and daughters.

3. Imparts Wisdom and Experience
Experience shortens your learning curve.
“The elder women… that they may teach the young…” — Titus 2:3–4
Spiritual fathers share lessons from victories and failures so you don’t repeat avoidable errors.

4. Provides Correction and Discipline
Correction is a sign of love.
“For whom the Lord loveth he chasteneth.” — Hebrews 12:6
Paul corrected the Corinthian church as a father (1 Corinthians 4:14–15).
Correction shapes character and preserves destiny.

5. Imparts Spiritual Gifts and Grace
There is biblical precedent for spiritual impartation.
“I long to see you, that I may impart unto you some spiritual gift.” — Romans 1:11
Timothy received impartation through Paul (2 Timothy 1:6).
Association carries impartation.

6. Provides Accountability
Without accountability, people drift.
“Iron sharpeneth iron.” — Proverbs 27:17
A spiritual father asks hard questions and ensures you stay aligned spiritually and morally.

7. Encourages Stability in Ministry
Many ministers fail due to isolation.
Spiritual fatherhood provides:
Mentorship
Stability
Oversight
Encouragement
Elisha followed Elijah before operating in greater power (2 Kings 2).

8. Models Godly Character
A spiritual father is a living example.
“Be ye followers of me, even as I also am of Christ.” — 1 Corinthians 11:1
You don’t just hear teachings—you see them lived out.

However, Important Balance

A spiritual father:
Points you to Christ, not to himself.
Does not replace God.
Does not control your personal relationship with Jesus.
True spiritual fatherhood builds maturity, not dependency.

Note:
The importance of a spiritual father includes:
Guidance
Covering
Correction
Wisdom
Accountability
Impartation
Stability
Example
Spiritual growth is faster and safer under godly mentorship.
