DO YOU LOVE ME OR YOU JUST HATE THE CHURCH?
Do you truly love me,
or do you simply hate the Church?
You complain that I waste economic hours in the presence of God,
yet you who never “wasted” an hour in church
have not changed the economy you so loudly defend.
This is not wisdom; it is prejudice dressed as productivity.
You measure devotion by profit margins,
yet ignore that the greatest civilizations were shaped by men
whose private altars were stronger than their public offices.
You mock gatherings you do not understand,
then insult people’s intelligence because their discipline
does not look like yours.
Yes, a Christian should be productive.
Yes, a believer should shine in good works, innovation, and excellence.
But productivity without purpose is still emptiness,
and labor without eternity is sophisticated vanity.
The Spirit laments:
When did prayer become laziness?
When did devotion become backwardness?
When did seeking God become an economic crime?
You accuse the Church of stealing time,
yet you do not accuse entertainment, corruption, gossip,
or endless scrolling that produces nothing but noise.
Your problem is not time it is contempt.
Not economics it is offense.
Do not insult people’s intelligence
because you hate how they steward their time.
Time is neutral; it takes the meaning of the altar it serves.
Some build markets with it,
others build men, nations, and futures through it.
The Church is not anti-work;
it is anti-idolatry.
It does not compete with labor;
it confronts the god you worship through it.
So be honest.
Say you do not believe.
Say you do not value spiritual things.
But do not hide disdain behind fake concern for productivity.
This is the Spirit’s cry:
Let every man choose his altar,
but let no one despise another’s sacrifice.
For in the end,
history will not only ask what you built,
but what built you while you were building.
