BISMILLAHIR RAHMANIR RAHIM
The Sheikh opened with appreciation to Allah who made the seminar possible and prayed that we gather like this on the Day of Qiyamah.
𝙒𝙃𝙔 𝙏𝙃𝙄𝙎 𝙏𝙊𝙋𝙄𝘾?
Allah says:
يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا ادْخُلُوا فِي السِّلْمِ كَافَّةً وَلَا تَتَّبِعُوا خُطُوَاتِ الشَّيْطَانِ [Baqarah: 208]
Allah created us for a purpose:
وَمَا خَلَقْتُ الْجِنَّ وَالْإِنْسَ إِلَّا لِيَعْبُدُونِ
[51:56]. And the only platform to worship Allah is Islam.
𝐒𝐜𝐡𝐨𝐥𝐚𝐫𝐬 𝐬𝐚𝐢𝐝: Don't just say Islam is a religion. Islam is a complete way of life. It is not just Salah in Masjid, fasting, Zakat, Hajj. Everything about human life is based on Islam. There is nothing like half Muslim.
Today, among our youths especially African youths, atheism has overtaken them. Some see religion as problem of the world. So we must explain Islam totally.
𝘾𝙃𝘼𝙋𝙏𝙀𝙍 1: 𝙄𝙎𝙇𝘼𝙈 𝙄𝙎 𝙏𝙃𝙀 𝙍𝙀𝙇𝙄𝙂𝙄𝙊𝙉 𝙊𝙁 𝘼𝙇𝙇 𝙋𝙍𝙊𝙋𝙃𝙀𝙏𝙎
Islam did not start with Muhammad (SAW). Nuh (AS) who came in the 10th generation after Adam was a Muslim.
The three major religions - Islam, Judaism, Christianity - claim Ibrahim as father. But Allah said:
مَا كَانَ إِبْرَاهِيمُ يَهُودِيًّا وَلَا نَصْرَانِيًّا وَلَٰكِنْ كَانَ حَنِيفًا مُسْلِمًا وَمَا كَانَ مِنَ الْمُشْرِكِينَ [3:67]
Historical proof: Ibrahim -> Ishaq -> Ya'qub -> 12 children (Al-Asbat) -> one of them Yahudha (Judah) -> Judaism. How can Judaism which came long after Ibrahim be his religion? And Isa (AS) came centuries after Ibrahim, how can Ibrahim be Christian? Ibrahim was never even aware of Judaism or Christianity. He was Hanif.
All Prophets were Muslims:
- رَبَّنَا وَاجْعَلْنَا مُسْلِمَيْنِ لَكَ [2:128] - Ibrahim & Isma'il
- فَلَا تَمُوتُنَّ إِلَّا وَأَنْتُمْ مُسْلِمُونَ [2:132]
- تَوَفَّنِي مُسْلِمًا وَأَلْحِقْنِي بِالصَّالِحِينَ [12:101] - Yusuf
- إِنْ كُنْتُمْ آمَنْتُمْ بِاللَّهِ فَعَلَيْهِ تَوَكَّلُوا إِنْ كُنْتُمْ مُسْلِمِينَ [10:84] - Musa
- وَاشْهَدْ بِأَنَّا مُسْلِمُونَ [3:52] - Disciples of Isa
- يَحْكُمُ بِهَا النَّبِيُّونَ الَّذِينَ أَسْلَمُوا [5:44]
- قُولُوا آمَنَّا بِاللَّهِ... وَنَحْنُ لَهُ مُسْلِمُونَ [2:136]
𝘾𝙃𝘼𝙋𝙏𝙀𝙍 2: 𝙄𝙎𝙇𝘼𝙈 𝙃𝘼𝙎 𝙎𝙊𝙇𝙐𝙏𝙄𝙊𝙉 𝙏𝙊 𝙀𝙑𝙀𝙍𝙔 𝙒𝙊𝙍𝙇𝘿 𝙋𝙍𝙊𝘽𝙇𝙀𝙈
Islam was chosen for humanity from past to Qiyamah. Whatever a Muslim wants to do, solution is in Islam.
𝐀. 𝐏𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐦𝐢𝐜 - 𝐂𝐎𝐕𝐈𝐃-19: When COVID overtook world, they used isolation, quarantine, lockdown, social distancing. But we have it in Islam. Ka'bah itself was locked seven times in history due to pandemics. Scholars said lock Masajid, pray at home, even Jumu'ah at home with family.
When Umar (RA) was going to Sham and heard plague was there, he consulted Sahaba. Some with strong Iman said "go ahead, it's Qadr." Until Abdur-Rahman ibn Awf came and said: I heard Rasulullah (SAW) say: "Whenever you hear of plague in a land, do not enter it, and if it breaks out where you are, do not leave it running away." [Bukhari & Muslim]
𝐔𝐦𝐚𝐫 𝐬𝐚𝐢𝐝: We are running from Qadr of Allah to Qadr of Allah. This is Fiqh of epidemics.
𝘽. 𝙁𝙞𝙣𝙖𝙣𝙘𝙞𝙖𝙡 𝘿𝙚𝙖𝙡𝙞𝙣𝙜𝙨: Allah revealed longest verse in Qur'an - Ayat-ud-Dayn [2:282].
If you go to any bank - Jaiz Bank, Taj Bank, commercial bank - for loan, see the security, agreement, evidence you provide. That is from Qur'an!
إِذَا تَدَايَنْتُمْ بِدَيْنٍ إِلَىٰ أَجَلٍ مُسَمًّى فَاكْتُبُوهُ وَلْيَكْتُبْ بَيْنَكُمْ كَاتِبٌ بِالْعَدْلِ... وَلْيُمْلِلِ الَّذِي عَلَيْهِ الْحَقُّ وَلْيَتَّقِ اللَّهَ رَبَّهُ... وَاسْتَشْهِدُوا شَهِيدَيْنِ مِنْ رِجَالِكُمْ فَإِنْ لَمْ يَكُونَا رَجُلَيْنِ فَرَجُلٌ وَامْرَأَتَانِ...
How many times you gave money to brother/friend without writing? When in need they are humble, they use all avenue. When they have it, they become somebody else, they deny, they become your enemy. You say "Allah will judge on Qiyamah" but Allah told you to write before that, you refused!
𝐂. 𝐈𝐬𝐥𝐚𝐦𝐢𝐜 𝐁𝐚𝐧𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠: When we agitated for Islamic banking, who started it? Not a Muslim! It was Charles Soludo, then CBN Governor. He started it before Sanusi Lamido implemented it. Christians shouted. He said: Go and establish your Christian banking. If Muslims want banking on their religion, allow them.
𝐃. 𝐂𝐫𝐢𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐉𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐞 - 𝐒𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐚𝐡: You hear Shariah you are not happy. But Wallahi, with Shariah our problem would be solved. No northern state is practicing complete Shariah.
A bandit who kills, abducts, negotiates for money, then system rehabilitates them. But one verse is enough:
إِنَّمَا جَزَاءُ الَّذِينَ يُحَارِبُونَ اللَّهَ وَرَسُولَهُ وَيَسْعَوْنَ فِي الْأَرْضِ فَسَادًا أَنْ يُقَتَّلُوا أَوْ يُصَلَّبُوا أَوْ تُقَطَّعَ أَيْدِيهِمْ وَأَرْجُلُهُمْ مِنْ خِلَافٍ أَوْ يُنْفَوْا مِنَ الْأَرْضِ [Ma'idah: 33]
If all people of Katsina gather to kill one person unjustly, all should be killed. If governor kills unjustly, he should be killed. That is Shariah. Today criminals are more protected than us because police/military protect them where their money comes from.
𝘾𝙃𝘼𝙋𝙏𝙀𝙍 3: 𝙄𝙎𝙇𝘼𝙈 𝙄𝙉 𝙔𝙊𝙐𝙍 𝙀𝘼𝙏𝙄𝙉𝙂, 𝘿𝙍𝙄𝙉𝙆𝙄𝙉𝙂, 𝙃𝙀𝘼𝙇𝙏𝙃 𝘼𝙉𝘿 𝙈𝘼𝙍𝙍𝙄𝘼𝙂𝙀 - 𝙏𝙃𝙀 𝙁𝙄𝙉𝘼𝙇 𝙋𝙍𝙊𝙊𝙁
Imam said: Islam will force you to be healthy. It says do not use your left hand to eat, even to drink water. Only use your right hand.
Some people think using left hand to eat is civilization. The Sheikh said: If you become civilized, you become animalized sometimes, because you think using left hand is more social and civilized than right hand, Subhanallah!
Medical Miracles:
1. 𝐔𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠: There was social media post - new discovery: For men, the best way to urinate is to squat because it reduces prostate disease. Doctors proved it. Muslims said: This is what our Prophet taught us 1400 years ago! Science is just discovering it now. After many people died without knowing cause of prostate.
Our children do it naturally - you don't want to stand while urinating except condition.
2. 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐅𝐥𝐲 𝐇𝐚𝐝𝐢𝐭𝐡: Just like when Messenger (SAW) said: If you see a fly in your food or drink, dip it in before you take it out. People thought how foolish, how possible you still drink it? But Messenger said: The fly comes with two wings - one wing contains germs and bacteria that causes sickness, the other wing has the antidote for that bacteria. When it falls, it uses the wing that has bacteria to defend itself, but when you dip it in, the sickness is there and the solution is already there, it has neutralized it.
That is wisdom. Most time Islam tells you something without telling you wisdom. But scientists come and discover wisdom recently. They discovered what Messenger said 14 centuries ago - who was said to be ignorant - is medically proven: a fly has germs in one wing and solution in other wing.
That is Islam. If you are not taking this as a way of life, then what? If this is not enough as a way of life, what else? How else do you want to live your life?
3. 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐫𝐢𝐚𝐠𝐞: Islam is the only religion that told you the type of women to marry, how to start marriage, where to start.
Some say system of human being is one man, one woman. Who told you? Are you creator? Do you have any religious backup to that claim? There is no proof. No religious backup.
The only place you see backup that a man has choice to marry more than one, two, three, four, is Islam and Qur'an.
فَانْكِحُوا مَا طَابَ لَكُمْ مِنَ النِّسَاءِ مَثْنَىٰ وَثُلَاثَ وَرُبَاعَ
Scientists and prostate experts are coming out today that those men married to more than one wife have less chance of contacting prostate cancer than those married to one wife. And average man should have s*x no less than 20 times in a month. How can you do it? Your wife is human being, she has her own need. So those who can experience this are those two-star, three-star, four-star general.
We are not saying Islam proves this, we are saying doctors and scientists are saying this now. When Allah said marry more than one, He did not say to protect you from prostate, but they are proving it now. Even longevity of our forefathers is traced to how they married more than one wife.
𝙁𝙄𝙉𝘼𝙇𝙇𝙔:
My brothers and sisters, we come to conclusion that the way of life Allah made for humanity is Islam.
As a Muslim, you should live your life completely on platform of Islam. If you want to eat, eat the way Islam says. If you want to dress, dress the way Islam says. It doesn't mean type of cloth, but there are limits to how Islam said you should sew your cloth. What you eat, why you shouldn't eat, type of food you consume and shouldn't consume is in Qur'an.
And finally Allah said:
قُلْ إِنَّ صَلَاتِي وَنُسُكِي وَمَحْيَايَ وَمَمَاتِي لِلَّهِ رَبِّ الْعَالَمِينَ، لَا شَرِيكَ لَهُ ۖ وَبِذَٰلِكَ أُمِرْتُ وَأَنَا أَوَّلُ الْمُسْلِمِينَ [Al-An'am: 162-163]
"Indeed my prayer, my ritual sacrifice, my living and my dying are for Allah, Lord of the worlds. There is no partner to Him, and with this I was commanded, and I am the first of those who submit."
May Allah make us among those who submit to will of Allah, who follow divine commandment, who live life in Islam in this world and will be resurrected as Muslims on Day of Qiyamah on the platform of Muhammad (SAW).
