A Promise Many Quoteβ€”but Few Walk In

This verse is not poetryβ€”it is delegated authority.

Jesus did not say:
β€œYou will avoid the enemy.”

He said:
β€œYou will overcome him.”

There is a difference between being attacked and being defeated.

Many believers live aware of the enemy’s powerβ€”
but unaware of their God-given authority.

Authority, Not Just Protection

Jesus speaks these words after sending out the seventy disciples. They returned amazed:

Even demons were subject to them.

Why?

Because authority had been granted, not earned.

Authority in Scripture is not about feeling strongβ€”
it is about standing in what Christ has declared.

You don’t fight for victory.

You fight from victory.

Serpents and Scorpions β€” What Do They Represent?

These are not merely physical creatures.

They symbolize:

Hidden attacks (serpents)
Sudden strikes (scorpions)
Demonic oppression and spiritual resistance

Jesus was revealing:
Every form of the enemy’s strategy is beneath your feet.

β€œNothing Shall By Any Means Hurt You” β€” What Does It Mean?

This does not mean life will have no battles.

It means:
No attack can ultimately destroy what God has secured.

The enemy may:

Oppose you
Accuse you
Resist your calling

But he cannot:

Overrule God’s authority
Cancel your identity in Christ
Defeat a believer who stands in truth
Why Many Don’t Walk in This Authority

Not because they lack powerβ€”
but because they lack revelation.

They pray hoping God will act
Instead of enforcing what God already said

Spiritual authority is exercised through:

Faith in God’s Word
Bold declaration
Alignment with Christ
You Were Not Saved to Live Intimidated
