Jesus Christ has the power of resurrection and life.
25 “Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet he shall live:
26 And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die. Believeth thou this?”
Resurrection in this context means that something that was dead was brought back and life in this context mean that life was given back to that which was dead.
Jesus revelations about himself as the resurrection and life shows that Jesus Christ is the one that has the divine power and divine grace to bring that which is dead back to life no other person can do this.
Also, the purpose why Jesus came was fulfil through his resurrection. If Jesus was not resurrected after death our hope of eternal life would be in vain but now we have hope that eternal life is sure through the mercies of Jesus Christ for everyone that have faith in the son of God.
There are two important things that I want you to pay attention to as we celebrate Easter and remember the death, resurrection and life of Jesus Christ
1. Believe (Faith) “And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die. Believeth thou this?” (John11:26)

Jesus said that we are to believe that he is the son of God and that he came to die for our sins, raised from dead, seated at the right of God and he is coming soon to judge the whole world.

Believe is when we trust that what Jesus said is the truth, when we have all what Jesus said to heart, when we allow his words to dwell in our heart richly, when we have hope that Jesus is the one that he said he is and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him and believe in him.

Believe is a condition to be met for anyone to see the power of God at work. You do not even need to be a Christian to believe.

Why do I say this? There are lots of people who have not confess Jesus as their Lord and saviour but witness the miracles of God’s power and most people come to believe after they have witnessed the power of God in their life. Also, there are many Christians who are worse than unbelievers because they can confess with their mouth but in their heart there is doubt and they deny the power of God.

That is the reason why Jesus always ask his followers to believe, without believe a person cannot experience or enjoy what Jesus Christ can offer. The bible tells us that in Jesus town that they did not witness many miracles because of unbelieve. (Matthew 13:58)

Therefore, for you to enjoy what Jesus Christ can offer you need to believe in him, have faith in God and you shall see the power of God at work in your life.

2. Glory of God “This sickness is not unto death, but for the glory of God, that the son of God might be glorified thereby”

Jesus said no matter what you are currently facing be it sickness, poverty, disappointment, failure, delay, barrenness and so on is not your end but for the glory of God and that the son of God will be glorified in your situation.

Glory means promotion, success, breakthrough, joy, blessing, good luck, favour, good health and fruitfulness. So Jesus said that glory of God will end your matter, children of God be encouraged in your present situation and believe in God.

In John Chapter 11 the bible tells us a story about Lazarus and the story revealed to us the power of God and the Glory of God. Lazarus was dead for four days that means the spirit and life of Lazarus has departed, it was a hopeless case, Lazarus friends and family have given up their hope that Lazarus can live again but Jesus through his divine power brought Lazarus back to life. He can bring your situation back to life too.

What is your own Lazarus today? As you believe in God and his divine power, the power of resurrection and life of Jesus will fall upon you and you will see the glory of God.

My prayer for you is that the divine power of God ,the power of resurrection and life will come upon you as you believe God and you shall see the glory of God and I wish you and your family happy Easter celebrations.

Jesus Christ gives power for a new beginning.
Isaiah 43:19 “Behold, I will do a new thing, now it shall spring forth, shall ye not know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert.”
Glory be to God on highest because he has kept us till now and we are alive to witness the year 2017 and indeed a new beginning for us.
Jesus Christ is God when we refer to God, believers in Christ Jesus mean God the father, God the Son –Jesus Christ and God the Spirit-The Holy Spirit. God in three persons, the blessed trinity, the ancient of days, the immortal, the invincible, God only wise.
Our God is a God of a new beginning and new things. As a matter of fact, every problem must come to an end before God. Divine encounter with God Almighty leads to change because he will terminate the old and command the new to begin. God did this in the beginning of creation. The bible tells us that in the beginning, God created the heaven and the earth, the earth was without form and void, and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters. And God said let there be light and there was light.(Genesis 1:1-3) Our God is the same yesterday, today and forever if he has done it before, I am fully convinced that he can do it again only what you need is to have faith in God.
Are you weeping now because of the loss of your love one and all your hope seems shattered?
Are you full of sorrow because you have met failure in your business endeavours and all hope seems to be lost?
Do you suddenly find yourself to be jobless and you are running out of money, your rent is due and you do not know who to turn and you are at the risk of suddenly becoming homeless and you are afraid?
Has your spouse suddenly called off your engagement or your marriage and you do not know how to communicate this to families and friends because of the shame?
Are you currently battling with sickness and it appears you have lost hope of getting better and you are afraid if you are going to die?
I have come to announce to you that our God is faithful and he will not deny himself (2 Timothy 2:13) As long as there is breath of life in you, there is hope and there is a future for you only Have faith in God and he will change your situation and give you a brand new beginning . You do not need to be afraid of the future because your future is in God’s hand and God is always there, you,, God is not far away you, he said called upon me in the day of trouble I will answer you and you shall glorify me (Psalm50:15). He said he will not leave you or forsake you.(Hebrews 13:8) Our hope and our confidence is in him and our hope is not in vain, he is God that give good and perfect gift from throne in heaven and there is nothing deceitful in him( James1:17)
God will give you a new beginning and he will make all things new, have faith in God.
God will make old situations, circumstances and problems to come to an end and he will make all things new. (2 Corinthians 5:17)
God will bring all evil, suffering and pain you are experiencing to an end and give you peace, hope and a future. (Jeremiah 29:11)
God will make a way where there seems to be no way, an express road will suddenly appear in your wilderness and rivers will spring out of the desert places and abundance rain of God blessing will be poured out on you. (Isaiah 43:19)
God will make sorrow, tears, and death to come to an end and go with the old and former things and new things will begin to spring forth in your life. Revelation 21:4
God will make all the impossibilities becomes possible, what man has said that is not possible God will make it possible by his mighty power. (Matthew 19:26)
God will wipe away your weeping and tears and he will turn your weeping that has endured for a countless night to Joy unspeakable. (Psalm 30:5)
God will make an end to come to helplessness, hopelessness, weariness, frustration and depression in your life. (Psalm 103:5)
God will do new things in your life and there will be endless and uncountable new beginnings of new things for you in the year 2017.
Wishing the prosperous and wonderful year 2017.

Living in God’s Love

“And we have come to know and to believe the love that God has for us. God is Love, and the one who resides in love resides in God, and God resides in him." (1 John 4:16)
Pope Francis on a visit to Le**os refugee camp says, "Do not lose hope. The greatest gift we can offer to one another is love."
God’s love you and his love for you cannot be put in words. Because God's love for you have no limit. God cannot love you less than he first loves you when he sent Jesus Christ to die on the cross for your sins and mine. That is why is called steadfast love. Whenever you missed the mark, God is waiting at the throne of grace to offer you mercy in time of need.
The bible says, the steadfast love of the LORD never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness. (Lamentations 3:22-23 English Standard Version (ESV)
If God’s love for you is steadfast, how then do you remain steadfast in your Love for God? Your love for the word of God and obedience to his word is very important but I also think doing something practical to express your love for God is equally important.
For instance, if two people are in love, the love become stronger if it can be express by words and actions and you will know what delight the one you love by knowing them and understanding them, you will express this in words and doing things that delight their heart. This is equally relevant for your intimate love for God. If you reside in love, the bible says you resides in God and God resides in you.
Sometimes, all a person craves for is a little bit of help, time and company and the only person that can offer this is someone who resides in love, those who wake up in the morning looking for an opportunity to offer love to others as themselves. Many people cannot get out of the house much, some are in the hospital or even in the prison. They are not able to walk a long distance, jump into the car or bus and visits friends, or travel to the shops. Sparing an hour to visit people like this with a little gift in your hand and word of encouragement in your mouth could be a real boost to them and be an answer to their prayers.
Below are some practical ways to resides in Love and express God’s kind of love to others.
• 1.Providing a sympathetic ear to a bereaved person or someone coping with a major difficulty.
• 2.Helping somebody to move house.
• 3.Helping somebody to become settled in a new home or new church
• 4.Saying Hello and asking if they have had a good day.
• 5.Inviting somebody to your home for a meal.
• 6.Inviting an elderly neighbor to your home for a meal.
• 7.Meeting a lonely person for coffee or a snack.
• 8.Offering to take a non-car owner for an outing or giving them a lift.
• 9.Helping someone with heavy shopping bags, especially pregnant women or an elderly person.
• 10.Talking to a blind person, finding out if they need help.
• 11.Including others who may be too shy in a conversation.
• 12.Give food and water to someone you know that have no food to eat and water to drink.
• 13.Give out your new or old clothes to others who are naked or in need of clothes.
• 14.Take homeless and refugees to your home, church, neighborhood, and country.
• 15.Sending regular cards or letters to those who are sick at home, in the hospital or to those you know who are in prison.
• 16.Providing word of hope and encouragement to someone, listen more to others and you will find those who need to be encouraged around you.
• 17.A telephone call or text messages to others occasionally to check on their well-being.
18. Praying that God will use you to meet the need of others that you are limited to meet.
The list is not exhaustive you may add want to add more ideas to the list, but I want you to be wise when you decide to help others, be careful to maintain propriety, and your own safety and reputation.
There some out there who likes to take advantage of others, let the Holy Spirit guide you to things you are called to do. Never force help to potential recipient, as this could lead to embarrassment or upset. Seek to listen, understand needs around you and make it known if you can do something about it and seek the permission of the recipients if they would like you to help.
The greatest gift and service to others is your love. May God's love and power fill your heart as you seek to love others and resides in God's love.
Question:
How would you express you love to others today.
Prayer:
Dear father thank you for your love for me, please fill my heart with the power of your love so that I will reside continually in your love and by this the whole world will know that God’s love resides in me. Amen.

Jesus Christ is Love (2)
Who is my neighbor?
25 On one occasion an expert in the law stood up to test Jesus. “Teacher,” he asked, “what must I do to inherit eternal life?”
26 “What is written in the Law?” he replied. “How do you read it?”
27 He answered, “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind’ [a]; and, ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’[b]”
28 “You have answered correctly,” Jesus replied. “Do this and you will live.”
29 But he wanted to justify himself, so he asked Jesus, “And who is my neighbor?”
30 In reply, Jesus said: "A man was going down from Jerusalem to Jericho when he was attacked by robbers. They stripped him of his clothes, beat him and went away, leaving him half dead. 31 A priest happened to be going down the same road, and when he saw the man, he passed by on the other side. 32 So too, a Levite, when he came to the place and saw him, passed by on the other side. 33 But a Samaritan, as he traveled, came where the man was; and when he saw him, he took pity on him. 34 He went to him and bandaged his wounds, pouring on oil and wine. Then he put the man on his own donkey, brought him to an inn and took care of him. 35 The next day he took out two denarii[c] and gave them to the innkeeper. ‘Look after him,’ he said, ‘and when I return, I will reimburse you for any extra expense you may have.’
36 “Which of these three do you think was a neighbor to the man who fell into the hands of robbers?”
37 The expert in the law replied, “The one who had mercy on him.”
Jesus told him, “Go and do likewise.” - Luke 10:25-37
As C.W. Vanderbergh wrote, ‘To love the whole world for me is no chore. My only real problem is my neighbor next door’
We live in a highly digitally and socially connected world but emotionally disconnected world. It is easier to connect with people around the world using various digital and social platforms but we are drifted away from our neighbours by not been sensitive to their feelings and well being. If you live in an urban environment in a developed country, it is highly likely that you do not have any interaction at all with your next door neighbor.
According to Age UK , Later Life UK fact sheet,2016 , 3.5 million 65+ live alone, that means some of these people may not have interaction with other for weeks or months if they do not leave their house to go to public places.
How then do we need to express our love for our neighbours in such a digitally and socially connected world but emotionally disconnected world?
The story that Jesus told the expert of Law in Luke 10:25-37 is very relevant to us today if we desire to dwell in love towards our neighbours. We need to understand that we are all created by God, love God and that is why saved us from our sins, even though some are yet to accept that truth but thanks be to God because you have accepted the truth that God loves you and die for you and the concern for another person is a concern for the one that is created and loved by God.
In a world with 7 billion people, we are limited in the numbers of people we will meet or interact with no matter how long we live for. Therefore, it is important that we must gracefully be primary concern for the need of others that we meet out there, in our places of worship, in the market places, in the Schools, in the Cinemas, in the Hospitals etc. Because these people that we meet are our neighbours and we are commanded by our Lord Jesus Christ to love our Lord God and our neighbours. If the only person you are concern about is yourself, your children and your immediate family and you are not concern about people who are not related to you, you are falling short of what Jesus Christ expected of you.
Jesus said to the Expert of law go and do likewise what the Samaritan did to the man that was robbed and was left for dead. We need to show compassion towards others, we need to minister healing to them emotionally and physically, we need to relieve their pain and sorrow, not adding to their pains and we need to be generous in our service and sacrificial giving of our time and talents towards other people. Our love for others, our neighbours must be Just like Jesus Christ love us even when we were sinners, Jesus Christ came to die for us.
But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.-Romans 5:8
You will agree with me that your neighbor is someone who has a need to be met and you are in position to meet that need, you should meet their need because God has purpose others and you in such a position to meet their need and by so doing you to be able to express your love for God and for your neighbours, once you do this that is the true love and sacrifice of love that God requires from you.
Question:
And who is my neighbor?
Prayer:
Father, thank you because when I was still a sinner you die for and you express your amazing and wonderfully love for me. Please, Lord, give me the grace and enable me to be able to express my Love towards my neighbor in Jesus name. Amen

Jesus Christ is the Love of God (1)
What is Love?
In our world today, in our home, communities, villages, towns, cities, nations, between one person and another something is seriously lacking and what is lacking appears to be the most important thing in God’s heart, the most important principle in the Bible, in fact, the reason why God created mankind and rescue mankind from sins is what is lacking today and what is lacking today as you might already know is Love.
16"For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life. “(John 3:16)
Love is not an infatuation, sensational and erotic dresses, sexually attractive images in TVs, Magazines, Music and Social Media. Our world today are not definitely in short of all these another type of love . Off course , we do understand that Love is important but simply we do not understands what true means and how to express it , so we chose to replace it with something else which is not.
Unlike God’s Love, God personified and sacrificial love was expressed through Jesus Christ and still alive today because God’s love is unfailing, God who because of his love created us in his image and rescued us from sins and death through his only begotten Son, Jesus Christ. Compared to God our love is shallow, short-term, and often unstable and akin to a vapour that can disappear. Too often, what we call love is selfishness, greed, manipulations, lust, exploitation, gratification, oppressions etc.
Jesus Christ maintained Love to be most important principle in the Bible, summed up the Ten Commandments as “ You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart ,with all your soul, and with all your mind and You shall love your neighbour as yourself “ On these two commandments hang all the Law and the Prophets” (Exodus 20:1-17,Matthew 22:36-40) He said there is no other law, rules and regulations by which we should live apart from Love .
Apostle John compared the Love of God to the love we should have for each other:” Beloved, let us love one another ,for love is of God; and everyone who loves is born of God and knows God. He who does not love does not Know God, for God is Love.”
In the original Hebrew “ahab” means” to love,to act as a friend” The original Greek word for “Love” is “agapao” It means to feel and exhibit esteem and goodwill to another” (Online Bible, Strong’s notes)
We can only begin to understand what Love and true Love is by looking at Love from God’s perspectives, from the eyes and mind of God.
In Corinthians 13:1-13 Apostle Paul help us to understand what God’s Love is:
“If I speak in the tongues[a] (A) of men or of angels, but do not have love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. 2 If I have the gift of prophecy(B) and can fathom all mysteries(C) and all knowledge,(D)and if I have a faith(E) that can move mountains,(F) but do not have love, I am nothing. 3 If I give all I possess to the poor(G) and give over my body to hardship that I may boast,[b](H) but do not have love, I gain nothing.
4 Love is patient, (I) love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud.(J) 5 It does not dishonour others, it is not self-seeking,(K) it is not easily angered,(L) it keeps no record of wrongs.(M) 6 Love does not delight in evil(N) but rejoices with the truth.(O) 7 It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.(P)
8 Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, (Q) they will cease; where there are tongues, (R) they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away. 9 For we know in part(S) and we prophesy in part, 10 but when completeness comes,(T) what is in part disappears.11 When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I put the ways of childhood (U) behind me. 12 For now, we see only a reflection as in a mirror ;(V) Then we shall see face to face. (W) Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known. (X)
13 And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. (Y) But the greatest of these is love. (Z)
(1 Corinthians 13 1 -13)

How do you know if Love truly exists in your heart for others ?You must be primary concern for the need of others, you must always find way to help others, you must be kind and generous, you must be ready and willing to sacrifice your own interest for others and you must be willing to serve others selflessly, you must be patient, you must not be easily angered, you must not pride yourself above others, you must be able to forgive others, you must not exploit others through your positions and powers and also, your presence or your actions must not create fears in the mind and life of others. You must not seek to hurt other people feelings physically or emotionally and if you do by error or lack of judgement at a particular time you must find ways to correct it.

18 There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear involves punishment, and the one who fears is not perfected in love. (1 John 4:18)

How do you know if Love of God truly exists in your heart? You must be willing to do what Jesus Christ is asking you to do in his words.

“If you love me, keep my commands.” (John 14:15)

23 Jesus answered and said to him, "If anyone loves me, he will keep my word; and My Father will love him, and we will come to him and make our abode with him. 24"He who does not love me does not keep my words, and the word which you hear is not mine, but the Fathers who sent me.” (John 14:23-24)

The Good news is that God gives you the grace and ability to Love the Lord your God and Others.

Question: Do you want to Love you’re the Lord your God and Love others as you should today?

Prayer: Father, Thank you for loving me despite all my failings, Please Lord fill my heart with your true love today, help me to love you more and love others the way you want me to, to the Glory of your name . Amen.
