As a church, we should do better with our character and the way we treat people. We should not become the reason someone walks away from the house of God. Christianity is not only about preaching with words, but also about showing love, kindness, patience, humility, and understanding through our actions.
Many people are fighting silent battles, and the church should be a place of healing, peace, and acceptance — not judgment, gossip, hatred, or pride. Let us reflect Christ in our attitude and conduct, so that people are drawn closer to God through us, not pushed away because of us.
Church people must understand that character matters as much as doctrine. We cannot preach love on the altar and then show pride, wickedness, gossip, hypocrisy, and lack of compassion outside the church. Too many people have left churches not because they hated God, but because believers treated them badly.
The church is supposed to look like Christ — welcoming, loving, patient, forgiving, and kind. Sometimes one harsh word, constant judgment, or bad attitude from a “brother” or “sister” can wound someone deeply. We should be careful that our behavior does not become a stumbling block to those seeking God. Let our lives preach grace, mercy, and genuine love, so people encounter Christ through us and not rejection.
Only Jesus Saves.
