WHAT A SHOCK
Please take time to read this challenging story,
it will change your evangelistic vision and
fortitude.
Every Sunday afternoon, after the morning
service at the church, the Pastor and his eleven
year old son would go out into their town and
hand out Gospel Tracts
This particular Sunday afternoon, as it came
time for the Pastor and his son to go to the
streets with their tracts, it was very cold
outside, as well as pouring rain
The boy bundled up in his warmest and driest
clothes and said, 'OK, dad, I'm ready.'
His Pastor dad asked, 'Ready for what?'
'Dad, it's time we gather our tracts together
and go out.'
Dad responds, 'Son, it's very cold outside and
it's pouring rain.'
The boy gives his dad a surprised look, asking,
'But Dad, aren't people still going to Hell, even
though it's raining?'
Dad answers, 'Son, I am not going out in this
weather.'
Despondently, the boy asks, 'Dad, can I go?
Please?'
His father hesitated for a moment then said,
'Son, you can go. Here are the tracts, be
careful son.'
'Thanks Dad!'
And with that, he was off and out into the rain.
This eleven year old boy walked the streets of
the town going door to door and handing
everybody he met in the street a Gospel Tract .
After two hours of walking in the rain, he was
soaking, bone-chilled wet and down to his VERY
LAST TRACT. He stopped on a corner and looked
for someone to hand a tract to, but the streets
were totally deserted.
Then he turned toward the first home he saw
and started up the sidewalk to the front door
and rang the door bell. He rang the bell, but
nobody answered.
He rang it again and again, but still no one
answered. He waited but still no answer.
Finally, this eleven year old trooper turned to
leave, but something stopped him.
Again, he turned to the door and rang the bell
and knocked loudly on the door with his fist. He
waited, something holding him there on the
front porch!
He rang again and this time the door slowly
opened.
Standing in the doorway was a very sad-looking
elderly lady. She softly asked, 'What can I do
for you, son?' With radiant eyes and a smile
that lit up her world, this little boy said, 'Ma'am,
I'm sorry if I disturbed you, but I just want to
tell you that * JESUS REALLY DOES LOVE YOU *
and I came to give you my very last Gospel
Tract which will tell you all about JESUS and His
great LOVE..'
With that, he handed her his last tract and
turned to leave.
She called to him as he departed. 'Thank you,
son! And God Bless You!'
Well, the following Sunday morning in church
Pastor Dad was in the pulpit. As the service
began, he asked, 'Does anybody have testimony
or want to say anything?'
Slowly, in the back row of the church, an elderly
lady stood to her feet.
As she began to speak, a look of glorious
radiance came from her face, 'No one in this
church knows me. I've never been here before.
You see, before last Sunday I was not a
Christian. My husband passed on some time ago,
leaving me totally alone in this world. Last
Sunday, being a particularly cold and rainy day,
it was even more so in my heart that I came to
the end of the line where I no longer had any
hope or will to live.
So I took a rope and a chair and ascended the
stairway into the attic of my home. I fastened
the rope securely to a rafter in the roof, then
stood on the chair and fastened the other end
of the rope around my neck. Standing on that
chair, so lonely and broken-hearted I was about
to leap off, when suddenly the loud ringing of
my doorbell downstairs startled me. I thought,
'I'll wait a minute, and whoever it is will go
away.'
I waited and waited, but the ringing doorbell
seemed to get louder and more insistent, and
then the person ringing also started knocking
loudly...
I thought to myself again, 'Who on earth could
this be? Nobody ever rings my bell or comes to
see me.' I loosened the rope from my neck and
started for the front door, all the while the bell
rang louder and louder.
When I opened the door and looked I could
hardly believe my eyes, for there on my front
porch was the most radiant and angelic little boy
I had ever seen in my life. His SMILE, oh, I could
never describe it to you!
The words that came from his mouth caused my
heart that had long been dead, TO LEAP TO LIFE
as he exclaimed with a cherub-like voice,
'Ma'am, I just came to tell you that JESUS
REALLY DOES LOVE YOU .' Then he gave me this
Gospel Tract that I now hold in my hand.
As the little angel disappeared back out into the
cold and rain, I closed my door and read slowly
every word of this Gospel Tract. Then I went up
to my attic to get my rope and chair. I wouldn't
be needing them any more.
You see-- -I am now a Happy Child of the KING.
Since the address of your church was on the
back of this Gospel Tract, I have come here to
personally say THANK YOU to God's little angel
who came just in the nick of time and by
so doing, spared my soul from an eternity in
hell.'
There was not a dry eye in the church. And as
shouts of praise and honour to THE KING
resounded off the very rafters of the building,
Pastor Dad descended from the pulpit to the
front pew where the little angel was seated..
He took his son in his arms and sobbed
uncontrollably.
Probably no church has had a more glorious
moment, and probably this universe has never
seen a Papa that was more filled with love &
honour for his son... Except for One.

Scripture: “Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good! His faithful love endures forever. Give thanks to the God of gods. His faithful love endures forever. Give thanks to the Lord of lords. His faithful love endures forever. He remembered us in our weakness. His faithful love endures forever. He saved us from our enemies. His faithful love endures forever. He gives food to every living thing. His faithful love endures forever. Give thanks to the God of heaven. His faithful love endures forever.” (Ps. 136:1-3, 23-26)

The dependability of God's creation reflects His faithfulness. Your life experience shows His faithfulness. You couldn't even number the times He thinks about you!

HIGHER EVERYDAY TUESDAY AUGUST, 30 2016.
PRAYER AND PRAISE
“And at midnight Paul and Silas prayed, and sang
praises unto God: and the prisoners heard them”
- Acts 16: 25
Commenting on the scripture, 1 Thessalonians 5: 17, 18, Matthew Henry
asserted “If we pray without ceasing, we shall not want matter for
thanksgiving in everything. We shall see cause to give thanks for sparing
and preventing, for common and uncommon, past and present, temporal
and spiritual mercies. Not only for prosperous and pleasing, but also for
afflicting providences, for chastisements and corrections; for God
designs all for our good, though we at present see not how they tend to
it.” In our text, Paul and Silas were set free from prison as they prayed
and sang praises to God. There are great possibilities in prayer and
praise so be encouraged. No matter the challenges confronting you, be
they spiritual, emotional, academic and financial, they will bow when you
pray and praise God in faith. Don’t succumb to the devil. Surrender your
life to God and live for Him to ensure continued answers to your
prayers.
Challenge: Make prayer and praise a way of life
Prayer: Help me Lord to pray and praise you without ceasing
Quote: Challenges bow when you pray and praise God.

More Than The Bargain
Text: 2 KINGS 4:8-17
KeyVerse: "And the woman conceived, and bare a son at that season that Elisha had said unto her, according to the time of life" (2 Kings 4:17).
William Colgate of the famous Colgate Toothpaste discovered this truth early in life that we usually get more than we give to God and keyed into it. He felt the urge to tithe because he recognised that God was the Giver of all that he possessed, not only of opportunity, but even of the elements which were used in the manufacture of his products. William Colgate not merely tithed one-tenth of the earnings of Colgate's soap products; but he gave two-tenths, then three-tenths, and finally five-tenths of all his income to the work of God in the world. Today, the blessings he received have outlived him.
The story of the Shunemite woman in our text is a good illustration. She gave to the prophet of God and got more than she ever thought she could get. In fact, in her giving, she never expected anything in return. As for getting a child, she must have long given up the idea especially as she and her husband were now very old. But God couldn't ignore her deed of kindness. Though she did not ask for it, she got what she needed most. God will never ignore or forget your deeds and labours of love. We need to take a cue from this woman. She gave without the mind of getting anything in return. This is the best attitude we should adopt whenever we give, either to God or our fellow mankind. But whether we expect a payback or not, God's principle is to reward every true giver and His reward is usually more than we can ever bargain for. We should therefore not be weary in well-doing. Stay faithful in your tithing and giving to support the work of the Lord. Don't forget those who have devoted all their lives in the labour of the Lord. Remember also, your brethren and strangers who may be in need. Don't forget to entertain them - you may be reaching forth to an angel with a blessing for you.
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: You can't lose when you trade with God.

A lady committed a crime and she was sent to court. The punishment for the crime was life imprisonment. She shed tears for help but to no avail. When the case was called in court she started weeping. Her husband, family and friends who accompanied her started weeping but there was no hope. But something happened. Before the lady could stand in the witness box a man stood up and the court room was silent. Everyone looked at Him. He was noble and gentle. He stood in the witness box and interceded on behalf of the woman. The case was difficult, yet He used all His strength, energy and resources to fight on behalf of the woman. After a long legal battle between the man and the accusers, the lady was set free. The lady fell before the man and asked 'WHO ARE YOU?' The next day the lady deliberately committed another crime and was sent to the same court. As soon as she entered the courtroom, she saw the man who interceded for her the previous day on the judgement seat. He was no longer a lawyer, but a judge. With smiles on her face the lady said 'I have come again' The man lifted his head and said 'yesterday I was a lawyer, so I fought for you, even when you were guilty. But today I am a judge and my judgement must be fair.' With tears in the ladies eyes she asked for the second time 'WHO ARE YOU' and the man replied "YESTERDAY I WAS YOUR SAVIOUR. BUT NOW I AM YOUR JUDGE" Today Christ Jesus is our lawyer and redeemer, but a day is coming when He will give a fair judgement to everyone. JESUS IS COMING SOON, SO PREPARE TO MEET HIM.
