Why Must You Always Be the One?

Jesus leaves the 99 just to go after the one.

But have you ever thought about it? Why must you always be the one He is chasing after? Why not be among the 99 He left behind, safe in the fold?

Must you always be the lost one—the reckless sheep that strayed away? The one that made Him leave others just to come searching?

Oh, you think that makes you special? You think being the one He looks for again and again means you are unique?

Come off it. Wake up. Come to your senses.

Yes, He is merciful. Yes, His love is endless. Yes, He will always come after you.

But must you always be the one He has to leave others for?

One day, you might wander too far and never find your way back. One day, the enemy might strike before you even realize you are lost.

Have you forgotten that the thief comes only to steal, kill, and destroy? (John 10:10)

I just pray the enemy doesn’t destroy you before you wake up to the weight of your choices.

Stay with the fold. Stay with the 99. Don’t make it a habit to keep wandering off, thinking grace will always fetch you back.

Because one day, the story might not end the way you expect.

I see God helping us.
