He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High Shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress; My God, in Him I will trust.” Surely He shall deliver you from the snare of the fowler And from the perilous pestilence. He shall cover you with His feathers, And under His wings you shall take refuge; His truth shall be your shield and buckler. You shall not be afraid of the terror by night, Nor of the arrow that flies by day, Nor of the pestilence that walks in darkness, Nor of the destruction that lays waste at noonday. A thousand may fall at your side, And ten thousand at your right hand; But it shall not come near you. Only with your eyes shall you look, And see the reward of the wicked. Because you have made the Lord, who is my refuge, Even the Most High, your dwelling place, No evil shall befall you, Nor shall any plague come near your dwelling; For He shall give His angels charge over you, To keep you in all your ways. In their hands they shall bear you up, Lest you dash your foot against a stone. You shall tread upon the lion and the cobra, The young lion and the serpent you shall trample underfoot. “Because he has set his love upon Me, therefore I will deliver him; I will set him on high, because he has known My name. He shall call upon Me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him and honor him. With long life I will satisfy him, And show him My salvation.

WHY YOUR “SELF-CARE” ROUTINE ISN’T ACTUALLY FIXING YOUR EXHAUSTION

You’ve rested.
You’ve slept.
You’ve taken a break.
You’ve watched your favourite movie.
You’ve gone on that outing.
You’ve even tried to “disconnect.”
But somehow… you’re still tired.
Maybe the problem isn’t that your body needs another break.
Maybe your soul needs rest.

Jesus said:
“Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.”
— Matthew 11:28

Notice what Jesus didn’t say:
“Come to a vacation.”
“Come to entertainment.”
“Come and escape your responsibilities.”

He said, “Come unto ME.”

Because there is a kind of exhaustion that sleep cannot fix.
A tiredness that comes from carrying burdens God never asked you to carry.
The pressure to have everything figured out.
The need to please everyone.
The fear of tomorrow.
The weight of expectations.
The struggle to control what only God can control.
Self-care may give you a temporary break.

But Jesus gives you true rest.

Matthew 11:29 says:
“Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me…”

Jesus isn't simply inviting you to stop working.
He is inviting you to stop carrying life without Him.
So before you ask,
“What can I do to feel better?”
Ask:
“Have I brought this burden to Jesus?”
You don't always need another escape.
Sometimes, you need to return to the One who said, “Come unto Me.”
Your soul was never designed to carry what only Christ can carry.

Come to Jesus.
Lay down the burden.
Receive His rest.

Reminder for anyone trying to break a cycle right now: You’re not fighting alone!

Listen!
God already worked, in that, He delivered you from power of darkness and translated you into the kingdom of His son.
You're no longer under the negative control!
And yes, He is giving you both the willingness and the strength to walk away, every single time, at every opportunity. He is not ashamed of you!

He has given you the willingness to stop that addiction.

That habit doesn't own you anymore.

The power to say no is already yours.
Speak it over yourself in the comments: "I am free."
