*EXCERPT ON A NEW SERIES TITLED MINDING YOUR OWN BUSINESS*:*PROSPERITY BY INTEGRITY*(Part One)
Text: Deut 8:18.
Deuteronomy 8:18 But thou shalt remember the LORD thy God: for it is he that giveth thee power to get wealth, that he may establish his covenant which he sware unto thy fathers, as it is this day.
i.Remember the lord your God.
ii. He gives power to get wealth.
iii. He established his covenant.
*As a believer, you must be ever conscious of the reality of getting wealth.* God will start with you from somewhere(small), but he doesn't want you to remain there. God is not just a beginner; he is a finisher. And he wants you to be fruitful. What is fruitfulness? Fruitfulness is the manifestation of all that God has given you. Unfruitfulness does not glorify God.
It's essential to recognise that God is neither the source nor the initiator of poverty. And he will not deprive you of material wealth because he wants to give you spiritual gifts(wealth).
A child of God's leverage in the world for wealth is *covenant*. Your *intention/motive* for wanting wealth may determine if the covenant will work for you.
*There is spiritual backing to the businesses(wealth) of the word*
Why do you want to be wealthy???? *A believer is empowered to have wealth to fulfil God's will and covenant*. In other words *God want you to be wealthy so that the Gospel won't be hindered or limited,so that the Gospel can prosper much more where money/wealth is needed.*
It's important to note that God does not use hunger and poverty to make you serve him.
*SEVEN COVENANT BASES TO GET WEALTH.*
1. Tithing mal3:10. Tithing is not a gift; it's an obligation, it is to say you are available to be a channel or capacity to bless the world.
2. Giving to your spiritual parents. 1tim 5:17-18
3. Giving to your biological parents.(Irrespective of their weaknesses, it's an obligation to give to your parents).
4. The poor
5. Sacrificial Giving
6. Taking Good care of your spouse
7. Taking good care of yourself (personal investments in books, health, etc.)
