Topic: When God Turns the Tide.
Text: Psalm 34:17-19 “The righteous cry, and the Lord heareth, and delivereth them out of all their troubles.”
There are seasons when it feels like everything is pushing against you. David knew that place. He was outnumbered, betrayed, running for his life when he wrote this psalm. Yet he doesn’t speak like a cornered man. He speaks like someone who has seen God change the direction of a fight. “He hath delivered me out of all trouble” isn’t wishful thinking. It’s a testimony. God doesn’t promise a life without trouble, but He does promise that trouble won’t have the last say. When God turns the tide, the same situation that looked like a dead end becomes proof of His faithfulness. If He’s done it before, He can do it again.God’s deliverance isn’t always immediate, but it is always sure. When you’re in the middle of pressure, betrayal, or a situation that feels stacked against you, it’s easy to focus on what’s closing in. David shifts the focus: he looks back and sees that God has already carried him through “all trouble,” not just the convenient ones. That kind of remembrance changes how you stand today.
You don’t have to carry the weight of retaliation or anxiety about outcomes. When God is your defender, you’re free to keep your eyes on Him instead of the storm. His track record is your anchor.
Action point :
Take 5 minutes today to recall one specific time God brought you through a hard season. Write it down. Let that memory steady you when anxiety rises.
