Good morning.
Good afternoon
Good evening depending from where you are reading from.
May the blessings of the first day be upon us.
I want to treat the topic: Is Israel in the middle east the isreal in the Bible?
No, biblical Israel is not the same as modern Israel, though they share a historical and cultural connection. Biblical Israel was an ancient, ancient theocratic kingdom of the 12 tribes of Jacob, while modern Israel is a secular nation-state established in 1948 with defined political borders, according to Study.com. The ancient kingdom was a religious entity that was eventually conquered and scattered, whereas the modern state is a political one, The isreal of today in the middle east Asia was created On May 14, 1948 by David Ben-Gurion, the head of the Jewish Agency.
David Ben-Gurion was born in the town of Plonsk in Congress Poland in 1886. He was raised in a family who were ardent Zionists. His views would lead him to settle in Palestine, then part of the Ottoman Empire, in 1906. In my next post I will talk about the connection between Israel and Palestine.
Now the big question is how will a man born in plonks in Poland, settled down in Palestine decide to create a state call isreal?
We are going to treat this in our next post so stay connected.
So people will be saying but there is a water that differentiate the middle east Asia from Africa or other part which I might not want to discuss now maybe in our next post.
Now let's talk about suez canal that people will be thinking of
The Suez Canal was completed in 1869 after ten years of construction, connecting the Red and Mediterranean Seas and creating a vital trade route between Europe and Asia. The project was authorized by Egypt's viceroy, Sa'id Pasha, and led by French diplomat Ferdinand de Lesseps, though its construction involved millions of workers and significant challenges. Historically, the area has seen earlier, smaller canals, but the modern Suez Canal is the first to fully connect the two seas.
Key milestones:
Ancient canals: Ancient Egyptians, Ptolemies, and Romans built smaller canals in the area to link the Nile River with the Red Sea, but these did not connect the two seas.
Modern construction: In 1854, French diplomat Ferdinand de Lesseps secured permission from Egyptian viceroy Sa'id Pasha to build the canal.
Suez Canal Company: The Suez Canal Company was formed in 1858 to manage the project.
Construction begins: Work on the canal started in 1859, employing over 1.5 million laborers under often harsh conditions.
Completion: The canal was completed in 1869, with its official opening on November 17, 1869.
British control: By 1875, Britain had acquired Egypt's shares in the project and assisted in its administration, gaining significant control over the canal for nearly a century.
Nationalization and conflicts: After Egypt regained sovereignty in the 1950s, the canal became a flashpoint for conflict, leading to its closure during the Suez Crisis (1956–1957) and again during the Arab-Israeli War of 1967, remaining closed for eight years.
All these creations are only but to demoralize the original isreal.
Who are ancient Israel?
Are they still in existence?
What connection does the ancient Israel have with Palestine?
This we are going to treat in our next post.
