GLEANING FROM THE FIELD OF BOAZ.

Ruth 2:1-20; 3:1
The word of God can be likened to a field where thousands of people harvested from. Yet there is still more to glean from the field. If only you are ready to bend your backs to glean.

What are the qualities of a gleaner? Perseverance, patients, humility, selflessness, long suffering, deligence etc.

Lessons to be learnt from the book of Ruth:
Just like Boaz, God is a mighty God of wealth. Our sustainance depends on him.

It takes a hungry soul to glean from the word of God. Hunger is an important tool to discovering new things from the word of God.

God is wealthy but not a waster therefore gleaners are important to him. He needs people to gather the left overs because it's not his wish that any should perish.

Wisdom is important to you as a Christian. Though you are sustained by God, still he gave us wisdom to sustain us and for him to have his rest. Ruth displayed such wisdom.

In life more things can still be discovered in the field of God, no matter who you are, even a stranger, there is room for you.

Only if you are ready to start behind the harvester, there is still room for over taking but the best place to start is the back.

As for Naomi, she never heard from God before she left Jerusalem to a strange land.

Learn to stay where God keeps you. It may seem that he has forgotten you but no!! He knows where he kept you and your day of visitation is at hand.

Even when it seems that the place you are in, there is nothing to glean, still stay there. Because God has his plans for you.

THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN DISCIPLES AND CHURCH GOERS.

Isaiah 8:16-20, 1cor 15:58.
Isaiah 8:16
[16]Bind up the testimony, seal the law among my disciples.

Disciples are strict followers of Christ. They are always with the master come what may. Church goers are hypocrites. They confess God with their lips but their heart is far from him.

Disciples holds the secrets of the kingdom while church goers knows next to nothing about the kingdom.

Disciples are made and their making process is expensive. Church goers are born.

Disciples are rare, few and precious. Church goers are many, because they are the multitude.

Disciples have the key to the kingdom. When they pray heaven listens with keen ears. God can destroy a nation just to save one disciple because they are profitable. He doesn't joke with them.

Disciples are terrorists to the devil. When two disciples come together to pray heaven comes down and hell trembles. Church goers are nothing but instruments to the devil.

Heaven is meant for only disciples and not church goers.

Only disciples can bind the word of God in their hearts. A church goer is a forgetful hearer of the word of God.

Disciples are not seekers of pleasure.

Disciples are opposers of evil and cannot be decieved by false prophets and teachers. Church goers can be manipulated by them, because they seek such ignorantly.

Disciples are patient people. They know how to wait on the Lord. Church goers are impatient and can be seen running from pillar to post.

Finally, only disciples can give up anything and everything including their lives for the sake of the master, because they love nothing in this world. They're the only ones that will get a crown to rule with Christ. Church goers are lovers of pleasure and can never give up anything for the sake of the gospel.

THE DEVIL'S DESIRE

James 4:7
[7]Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.

The devil's rage against God is to reset all God's settings on Earth.

He knows he has a limited time that's why he is working tirelessly day and night.

The devil has his desire for us but it is in our power to resist him. But don't resist him when you have not submitted to God.

FEAR GOD

Ecclesiastes 12:13-14
[13]Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man.
[14]For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil.

Christianity is summed up in two words: FEAR GOD.

The fear of God is what makes us to flee from evil. But unfortunately the fear of the Lord is gradually fading fast from the heart of men.

This is why evil is steadily increasing day by day. Funnily enough, the world is never going to get any better.
Scripture affirms that the world will continue going from bad to worse and from worse to worst.

But where will you be when this happens? Will you be flowing with the tide of sin or against it?

Fear God, for your life depends on it.

THE IMPLICATIONS OF BEING A DISCIPLE.

Many of us don't know what lies at the end of the road that's why we decided to live anyhow.

The implications of being a disciple is a greater tomorrow. We destroy our tomorrow when we destroy our today. The devil knows this that is why we are his main target.

As disciples, we are immoveable. Neither suffering nor enjoyment can move us from the love of Christ because our eyes are fixed on the life beyond the now.

This hope and faith is the oil that keeps our lights burning.

We are heavenly minded. We see everything from the spiritual view. This is why even in our everyday life and work, we do it as unto the Lord.

We see every work as working for the master and since we are working for him, we would be rewarded by him.

For a labourer is worthy of his wages.

TOMORROW IS BIGGER THAN TODAY.

Proverbs 25:2
[2]It is the glory of God to conceal a thing: but the honour of kings is to search out a matter.

The glory of God is his ability to hide tomorrow. This is why we fear him, because only him knows tomorrow. Even the Devil doesn't know tomorrow, he peeps into it.

You know, Jesus was just a man, but full of Godhead. When the disciples followed him, they thought they were following a mare carpenter. They never saw the tomorrow of Christ. Likewise the Pharisees. But Rev. 1:13-16 reveals the aftermath of Jesus. And even up till now, many people still don't know the tomorrow of Christ this is why they don't follow him.

Tomorrow is surely bigger than today. Tomorrow is pregnant and only God knows what it would give birth to.

This understanding should make us have respect for everyone because we don't know how tomorrow would look like.

Though tomorrow is bigger than today, we can't afford to look down on our today. Our tomorrow is determined by our today.

When you sell a chick, you sell it for a very cheap price, but when you nuture that chick into a hen before selling it, it would be expensive.

Rather than selling your today, nuture it for tomorrow. For tomorrow is bigger than today.

I KNOW YOUR WORKS

Once there was a young man who loved an old woman in a certain village.
He took this woman as his own mother and always brought her food stuffs and clothing from the city.

Though he loved her bountifully, but he never trusted her. Anytime she asked him when he would be returning to the city, he would lie to her by giving her a date and then going earlier than said because he feared that she was a witch.

One day the woman as usual asked him when he would be returning home and as expected he lied. The old woman then said to him, "my son, there is no need to lie, I know you. I am a witch and I know everything about you".

She brought out a mirror saying "This is what I use to watch your activities".

She showed him his house, wife and children in the city. She also showed him his place of work and many more things about him. The man was shocked and scared.

The old lady said that she would love to experiment something. She took out the mirror again and showed him the hen in his house. With a pin she punched the hen through the mirror and it died.

She looked at the young man and said. "If I want to hurt you. It wouldn't take me a second. Though I am a witch but you have been good to me, so I would not hurt you. There is no need to lie to me.

When the young man went back to the city, he told his wife who loved talking ill about the old lady all that was said and shown to him. He also told her about their dead hen which the lady had killed and she became worried cause she confirmed it to be true. From then onward the couples were cautious of what they said about the old lady.

That old lady could demonstrate such powers, yet she was just human.

How much more the Almighty God? Who is all knowing. He knows our past, present and future. He knows the secrets of our hearts. He himself dwells in the secret. He will be the judge on the day of judgement.

FEAR GOD and have a righteously transparent life. Even when it seems that no one is watching

THE FLESH

Galatians 5:17
[17]For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would.

The flesh also known as the Adamic nature or Old man is the strongest pillar of the world system.

One striking and dangerous thing about the flesh or the old man is that, it has no part in heaven.
It returns to the dust, yet it is responsible for 99.999% of the sins committed in our everyday living.

The flesh is the devil's strongest pillar, because he uses it to control man knowing fully that we were all born with this nature.

The flesh can work out both good and evil deeds.

Galatians 5:19-21
[19]Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness,
[20]Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies,
[21]Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings......

It can work good,give food,give alms, pay bills,help people. It promotes self improvement,self discipline,self righteousness,self determination.
But still if the goodness is not God sponsored it is fleshly sponsored.

IT FIGHTS AGAINST THE LEADERSHIP OF GOD IN THE HEART OF MEN.

Romans 8:8
[8]So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God.

• What can we do to the flesh?
KILL IT!
• How can you kill it?
STARVE it of it's desires.
DEPRIVING it of it's lust.

This is only possible when you have the Spirit of God dwelling in you and you intentionally,consistently and consciously OBEY the Holy Spirit of God.

Romans 8:13
[13]For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live.
