No more wars
"Nation will not take up sword against nation, nor will they train for war anymore" Isaiah 2:4
Thinking of the series of wars and conflicts around the world will remind one of the imminent end of the world as told by our Lord Jesus Christ. Prophet Isaiah also visualised a new heaven and earth. Isaiah 67:17. A place where children won't die young or grow up in crime breeding poverty. A place where there won't be kidnapping, murder and gun violence. Beloved, the new world is not yet here. Our role is to pray and serve until it comes. Matthew 6:10. As pacifists, and lovers of peace, we pray that swords will become plough shares. Bomb spare parts will become cooking stoves. Weapons become artworks. As we lift up our eyes on to God this morning, may we commit all those in conflict zones around the world to God to bring His peace unto them. May His kingdom come. May His will be done on earth and in our lives today as it is in heaven. Good morning.
