Through The Doldrums, Towards Greatness (DOLDRUMS?)
Progress is sweetness
Reward for hard work is success
Success carries nobility
Doldrums carry none

Stuck in the doldrums of life?
Without the will to forge ahead?
Yet you trudge on- not defeated
But with the hope of a trailblazer

In the darkness of the night
The soul grows quiet
The tug within the heart
Longs for a positive turn.

Each breaking dawn
Awakens the urge to drift
away fom focus
away from hard labour
untill twilight asks: why?

The day climbs over the hills
The sun burns brightly in strength
Yet the heart still searches
For a way out of the slump

In the silence of weary days,
Hope sinks with a tired gasp
almost beyond reach
yet not without a glimmer
To keep the soul alive

Wide is the landscape of hope
Its wings stretched far and full
Calling softly but profoundly,
rise from the slump

And comes the faint reply
I shall rise above the tide
I shall break free from stillness
For greater things lie ahead

The beginning of greatness
lies in today's discipline
Never allow weariness
stand in the path of hope
