TOPIC: DEAL WITH THE OLD MAN
DAVID IZUAKHU

TEXT: EPHESIANS 4:22-24
That ye put off concerning the former conversation the OLD MAN, WHICH IS CORRUPT ACCORDING TO THE DECEITFUL LUSTS; And be renewed in the spirit of your mind; and that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness.

Who is the old man?
The old man is that former you before you met the Lord. That man that was born after the corrupt and deceitfulness of this world, that old you who was an enemy of God and stranger of righteousness. That you that loves this world and all that is in it. 1 John 2:15.

Although the old is gone, his spirit is still speaking in the life of some believers. Why do you think some times those old dancing steps you were dancing before you gave your life to Christ still pops up? You see some sisters still wearing those skipping and half naked dresses they were wearing before meeting with Jesus, and they see nothing wrong with it? The problem of such people is this; THEY HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO CAST OUT THE SPIRIT OF THE OLD MAN FROM THEIR NEW HOME.

So then, my friends, we have an obligation, for it is NOT TO LIVE AS OUR HUMAN NATURE WANTS US TO. For if you live according to your human nature, you are going to die; BUT IF BY THE SPIRIT YOU PUT TO DEATH YOUR SINFUL ACTIONS, YOU WILL LIVE. Romans 8:12‭-‬13 GNT.

This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh. For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would. Gal. 5:16-17.

Our anchor text says; that ye put off concerning the former conversation (life style) the OLD MAN, WHICH IS CORRUPT ACCORDING TO THE DECEITFUL LUSTS; And be renewed in the spirit of your mind; and that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness. Eph. 4:22-24.

If you don't want to die or labour in vain as a believer, wake up today, kill and cast out the spirit of the old man from your life.

That old man wants you to continue in your old ways, he wants you to still have a relationship outside your marriage, he tells you to keep beating your wife, or as a wife to keep insulting and talking back at your husband arrogantly, which was your old life style. Read colossians 3:9-10. It is time to take the battle to the gate and say no to the old man, his tenure is over, allow the new man to have his way.

Please pray this prayer seriously:

My heavenly father, as I begin to pray now, I kill the spirit of the old man that wants me to continue in my old ways, I cast it out and silent his voice in Jesus name.

Better is the end of a thing than the beginning thereof: and the patient in spirit is better than the proud in spirit.

Child of God you must strive and trust God to finish well. A well concluded story often attracts more attention than the story that started well but concluded badly.

To have a good ending;

1. Pattern your life with the word of God.
Every child of God must follow the examples of the scriptures to structure his or her life. Let the word of God guide you. Work hard to finish well. Reject discouragement and the distractions of the enemy programme to stop you from pushing for a better ending.

Hebrews 6:12 KJV
[12] that ye be not slothful, but followers of them who through faith and patience inherit the promises.

2. Guarding the Closing Chapters
The final chapters of a life, season, or assignment matter deeply. Scripture records great beginnings that were ruined by careless endings, and quiet beginnings crowned by faithful conclusions.

Better is the end of a thing than the beginning thereof: and the patient in spirit is better than the proud in spirit. ECC. 7:8

Wisdom, humility, and continued reverence for God preserve a good ending. Pride, compromise, and neglect corrupt it.

3. God’s Promise of a Good End.
God promises His people not just survival, but a hopeful and peaceful conclusion.

Jeremiah 29:11 KJVsay;
For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.

A good ending is the inheritance of those who trust God fully and finish their race faithfully. Please trust God, avoid the fear of failure, believe this, you will end well in Jesus Christ name.

A good ending is the testimony of a life surrendered to God’s will. It is the crown of faithfulness, the reward of obedience, and the proof of grace at work. May your journey be sustained by God, your steps ordered by truth, and your story conclude in peace, honor, and fulfillment. Finish well. End strong. End in God.

Please pray this prayer;

My heavenly father, as I begin to pray now, you have promised me a good ending, i shall not end badly in Jesus Christ name.

TEXT: COLOSSIANS 1:25-28
whereof I am made a minister, according to the dispensation of God which is given to me for you, to fulfil the word of God; even the mystery which hath been hid from ages and from generations, but now is made manifest to his saints: to whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory:
Colossians 1:25‭-‬27 KJV

As a minister of God according to the stewardship which God entrusted to me for the sake of his people, so I might make the WORD OF GOD fully known among you, I write to encourage you, to beginning to see and live beyond whatever you are passing through. The best of you can only emerge, when you have told yourself that you are more than whatever you are going through. O yes! You are more than what are going through because Christ in you the hope of glory. 11John 4:4. Romans 8:37 also says, we are more than conquerors through Christ that loved us.

The KJV of Colosians 1:27 says; Christ in you, the hope of glory... Do you agree with the scriptures? If yes, then know today that whatever you might be going through has an end according to proverbs 23:18 which says, For surely there is an end; and thine expectation shall not be cut off. Even if you don't have money, food or a good job, do not let it affect your joy because "Joy isn't an emotion but a revelation". Let this revelation sustain you all the time. That Christ in you, the hope of glory, victory, and success. When you know and accept this, you will shout for joy no matter the challenges. Hallelujah!

Christ is God's best to the world, and to the believer, and this truth would give you access to a life of endless possibilities. Healing for your spirit, soul and body would become cheap with every other good thing you desire to have. Why? Because Christ in you, the hope of glory.

Please pray this prayer seriously;

My heavenly father, as I begin to pray now, I rise above every problem or challenges of my life and family by the glory and power of your word, and I declare, that I am victorious in Jesus name.
