Purpose Requires Surrender
Scripture:
“I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.” Romans 12:1 (KJV)
Insight:
True purpose begins where self-rule ends. God does not force purpose on anyone; He reveals it to those who surrender. Surrender is not weakness, it is alignment. When you lay down your will, plans, pride, and preferences before God, you create room for His perfect will to take shape in your life.
Many people want God’s purpose but still want control. Yet purpose flourishes only on the altar of surrender. When your life becomes a living sacrifice, God takes responsibility for direction, provision, and outcome.
Surrender is daily. Each morning you choose again to say, “Lord, not my will, but Yours.” That posture keeps your heart sensitive and your path clear.
Reflection:
What area of your life are you still holding tightly that God is asking you to surrender?
Prayer:
Lord, I lay my life before You afresh. I surrender my desires, plans, and ambitions to Your will. Shape me, lead me, and use me for Your glory. Let Your purpose be fulfilled in me. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
