LOOK AND LIVE

Foundation Text:
John 3:14–15 (KJV)

“And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up: That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life.”

Supporting Text:
Numbers 21:8–9 (KJV)

“And it shall come to pass, that every one that is bitten, when he looketh upon it, shall live.”

When the Israelites were dying from the bites of the fiery serpents, God provided a simple remedy: they were to look at the serpent Moses lifted up. Jesus used this event to point Nicodemus to Himself. Just as those who looked at the serpent lived, everyone who looks to Christ in faith receives eternal life.

The answer to humanity's deepest problem is not found in religion, human wisdom, or personal achievement. It is found in Jesus Christ. He was lifted up on the cross so that whoever believes in Him will not perish but have everlasting life.

Do not look to your circumstances as the final answer. Look to Jesus. When you are weak, look to Him. When you are confused, look to Him. When you have fallen, look to Him. The One who was lifted up for us is still able to save, restore, and give eternal life.

PRAYER:
Heavenly Father, thank You for giving us Jesus Christ, who was lifted up for our salvation.
Help me to keep my eyes on Him and trust Him completely.
Let my life continually testify to the saving power of Christ. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

TOPIC: When Spiritual Truth Is Difficult to Understand

John 3:9–10 (KJV)

“Nicodemus answered and said unto him, How can these things be? Jesus answered and said unto him, Art thou a master of Israel, and knowest not these things?”

Supporting Text:
1 Corinthians 2:14 (KJV)

“But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God... because they are spiritually discerned.”

Nicodemus was a teacher of Israel, yet he struggled to understand what Jesus was teaching. His experience reminds us that human knowledge and religious position do not automatically produce spiritual understanding. There are truths that can only be understood when the heart is open to the Holy Spirit.

Sometimes, we may also ask, “How can these things be?” when God's Word challenges our understanding. Rather than allowing confusion to make us withdraw, we should seek God through prayer, His Word, and the guidance of the Holy Spirit.

Today, remain humble before God. You may not understand everything immediately, but you can trust the One who does. Spiritual understanding grows as we continue to walk with Christ.

Prayer:
Heavenly Father, open my understanding to the truth of Your Word.
Give me a humble heart and help me to depend on Your Spirit rather than my own understanding.
Teach me to trust You even when I cannot fully comprehend Your ways. In Jesus' name, Amen.

TOPIC:
THE WIND OF THE SPIRIT

“The wind bloweth where it listeth, and thou hearest the sound thereof, but canst not tell whence it cometh, and whither it goeth: so is every one that is born of the Spirit.”

Supporting Text:
Galatians 5:25 (KJV)

“If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.”

The wind cannot be seen, yet its presence can be clearly felt and its effects can be observed. Jesus used this picture to explain the work of the Holy Spirit. Though we may not always understand how He works, we can see the evidence of His presence through the transformation He produces in our lives.

The Holy Spirit leads us in ways that may sometimes go beyond our understanding. He changes our desires, directs our steps, strengthens our faith, and helps us to become more like Christ. Our responsibility is not to control the Spirit but to surrender ourselves to His leading.

Today, ask yourself: Am I allowing the Holy Spirit to direct my life? When we yield to Him, He takes us where God wants us to go and produces in us the character that glorifies Christ.

PRAYER:

Heavenly Father, help me to yield completely to the leading of Your Holy Spirit. Give me grace to trust Your direction even when I do not understand the journey. Let Your Spirit transform my life and lead me into Your perfect will. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

DO NOT BE SURPRISED

"Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again."

Supporting Text:
Titus 3:5 (KJV)

"Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost."

Jesus told Nicodemus not to be surprised by the necessity of the new birth. Though Nicodemus was a respected teacher of the law, he still needed the transforming work of God in his life. Salvation is not earned through religious knowledge, good deeds, or personal achievements; it is received through God's mercy and grace.

The call to be born again is for everyone. Regardless of our background, position, or accomplishments, we all need a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. The Holy Spirit renews our hearts and enables us to live in a way that pleases God.

Today, respond to God's invitation with humility and faith. If you have experienced the new birth, continue to grow in your walk with Christ. If there are areas of your life that need renewal, surrender them to the Lord and allow His Spirit to complete His work in you.

Prayer:
Heavenly Father, thank You for the gift of salvation through Jesus Christ. Help me never to depend on my own strength or achievements, but to rely completely on Your grace. Continue to renew my heart by Your Holy Spirit and make my life a testimony of Your transforming power. In Jesus' name, Amen.

TOPIC: TWO BIRTHS—ONE ETERNAL DIFFERENCE

"That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit."

Supporting Text:
Romans 8:5–6 (KJV)

"For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit. For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace."

Jesus drew a clear distinction between physical birth and spiritual birth. Physical birth gives us natural life, but spiritual birth gives us eternal life. While every person is born into this world through the flesh, only those who are born of the Spirit become members of God's family.

The new birth changes more than our destination—it transforms our desires, our priorities, and our relationship with God. A life led by the Spirit is marked by obedience, peace, and a growing likeness to Christ. This transformation is not achieved by human effort but by God's grace working within us.

Today, ask yourself: Which life is shaping my daily decisions—the flesh or the Spirit? As you yield to the Holy Spirit, He will lead you into a life that honours God and reflects His character.

Prayer:
Heavenly Father, thank You for the gift of new life through Jesus Christ. Help me to walk in the Spirit each day and not according to the desires of the flesh.
YTransform my heart so that my thoughts, words, and actions will bring glory to Your name. In Jesus' name, Amen.

TOPIC:
Born of Water and the Spirit

"Nicodemus saith unto him, How can a man be born when he is old?... Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God."

"Then will I sprinkle clean water upon you, and ye shall be clean... A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you."

Nicodemus struggled to understand Jesus because he was thinking only in natural terms. Jesus explained that entering God's kingdom is not about experiencing another physical birth but about receiving spiritual life. God cleanses the heart and gives new life through the work of His Spirit.

The new birth is a divine work that transforms a person from the inside out. It is more than changing habits or following religious traditions. When the Holy Spirit comes into a believer's life, He renews the heart, reshapes the mind, and empowers a life of obedience to God.

Today, thank God for the gift of His Spirit. Allow Him to continue His transforming work in your life. As you surrender daily to His leading, your character, decisions, and walk with Christ will increasingly reflect His holiness and love.

Heavenly Father, thank You for the gift of Your Holy Spirit.

Topic:
A SEEKER IN THE NIGHT

"The same came to Jesus by night, and said unto him, Rabbi, we know that thou art a teacher come from God..."

Supporting Text:
Jeremiah 29:13 (KJV)

"And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart."

Nicodemus was a respected religious leader, yet he recognized that something was missing in his spiritual life. Rather than allowing pride to keep him away, he sought Jesus. His decision reminds us that no amount of knowledge, position, or reputation can replace a personal encounter with Christ.

Although Nicodemus came by night, Jesus did not reject him. He welcomed his questions and revealed life-changing truth. The Lord still receives everyone who comes to Him with a sincere heart. He is ready to guide those who genuinely seek His will.

Today, examine your own heart. Are you merely familiar with Jesus, or are you truly walking with Him? A sincere search for Christ always leads to a deeper knowledge of His grace, truth, and saving power.

PRAYER:
Heavenly Father, create in me a heart that sincerely seeks You.
Remove every barrier of fear, pride, or doubt, and draw me into a deeper relationship with Jesus Christ.
Let my life be transformed as I walk with You each day. In Jesus' name, Amen.

TOPIC: Remember Those Who Suffer

Text: Hebrews 13:3; Romans 12:15 (KJV)

"Remember them that are in bonds, as bound with them; and them which suffer adversity, as being yourselves also in the body."
Hebrews 13:3

The heart of Christ is a heart of compassion. Hebrews 13:3 calls us to remember those who are imprisoned, persecuted, displaced, sick, or facing severe hardship. As members of one body in Christ, we are not to ignore the pain of others but to carry them in our prayers and respond with practical love whenever we can.

True faith reaches beyond our personal needs. It encourages the discouraged, comforts the grieving, supports the vulnerable, and stands with those who suffer for the sake of the Gospel. When we show mercy to others, we reflect the compassion of Jesus, who came to seek, save, and restore the broken.

Today, take time to pray for those facing adversity. Ask God to strengthen the persecuted Church, comfort grieving families, protect communities affected by violence and insecurity, and use you as an instrument of His love and peace wherever you are.

🙏 Prayer:

Heavenly Father, give me a compassionate heart that remembers those who suffer.
Strengthen those who are persecuted, comfort the afflicted, and provide for those in need.
