WHEN MEN SLEPT
MATTHEW 13: 24-25
The purpose of God for everyman in life is good and perfect, but the Devil always seeks to twist the purpose; and this always happens when we are asleep (spiritually). No devil can attack you when you are hot, awake, or alive (revived)
There are two (2) types of sleep:
i. Physical/natural sleep
ii. Spiritual sleep
The natural sleep is normal for your health (although not too much) while the spiritual sleep is deadly. You may be physically asleep but spiritually awake. As a matter of fact, this is what is expected of every children of God because destinies are traded when men are spiritually asleep.
In Mark 4:37-39, “And there arose a great storm of wind, and the waves beat into the ship, so that it was now full. And Jesus was in the hinder part of the ship, asleep on a pillow: and they awake him, and say unto him, master, carest thou not that we perish? And he arose, and rebuked the wind, and said unto the sea, peace, be still. And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm.”
The Devil thought Jesus was asleep, he wanted to use the opportunity to destroy and finish Him up since he had got his disciples who were physically awoke but spiritually asleep. Thank God, Jesus was spiritually awake. The Devil is a liar! He always hunts for precious life that is asleep. That is why you can’t afford to be sleeping still. Wake up!
When men slept –
When can you be said to be asleep?
i. When you are becoming spiritually cold;
ii. When prayers become difficult for you;
iii. When doubt and unbelief set in for faith;
iv. When you love less profitable things than God’s word;
v. When the word of God no longer moves you.
The enemies came and sowed –
What are the seed the enemies sow in the sleeping hours?
i. Confusion - (John 14:1);
ii. Failure - (Luke 5:1-5);
iii. Sickness – (Luke 13: 11-13);
iv. Hardship – (Exodus 2: 23-25);
v. Poor-finishing Syndrome – (John 5: 5-8);
vi. Loss – (Jonah 1: 2-15);
vii. Various storms of life- (Mark 4: 36-39) and many more.
But, praise be the name of the Lord! We have a consolation in Him. Matthew 15:13 says, “Every plant, which my heavenly father hath not planted, shall be rooted up”
To destroy the seed of the Devil, you have to WAKE UP from your sleep and be VIOLENT against the Devil and his cohorts.
Matthew 11:12 says, “The kingdom of heaven suffers violence, and violent take it by force.”
Conclusion:
If you are ready, God also is ready
If you have not Surrendered your life to Jesus Christ, do it today so as to get set for a new life of victory over the enemies in Christ Jesus. Today is your day, God is waiting for you.
This is your time!
Prayer point:
i. Father! Everything that constitutes itself the enemy of God in my life, I command you to catch fire right now in Jesus name.
ii. Everything that is against God‘s original purpose for my life- confusion, failure, hardship etc - catch fire now, in Jesus name!
