When God gave me the insight of visiting a "PRISON" , I knew he wanted to teach me a lesson but I never imagined it would come this way!
Yesterday 19th May 2018, I was privileged to visit " Ado Ekiti Prisons" under the umbrella of Christian Charity Network!
After so much protocols , we filed in to the yard, and my first sight was the kitchen, I saw a group of men doing a thing or the other.
Then my attention was drawn to a group of men gathered in front of a building, they were in m***i attires, so it was uneasy to depict the inmates from the nonuniform workers!
We were led to the chapel, and within 5 minutes, they started filing in one after the other, though they were not in uniforms but something singled them out ( I won't tell you *winks)
To my biggest surprise, they had a group of choristers and I wondered in my spirit, what and how would they sing?
Fast forward to the praise and worship session, the lead vocal was a grown man, his voice was captivating, the lyrics were audible enough, and his emotions were tuned to the melody of the songs!
I was moved!
How about their drummers? I can't explain!
The man playing the SHEKERE was my " man of the day", this man was physically disabled, but the way he harmonized the shekere to the songs with so much joy humbled my soul, truly, disability is a MINDSET!
The inmates on the other hand praised God as if they were living the best of their lives, they jumped, danced and joy of the Lord could be seen written all over their face!
I was perplexed, and I didn't know when tears rolled down my face, these guys didn't just praise God, they were immersed in the praises!
Lesson Learnt:
*Praising God shouldn't be a factor of your present situation or Circumstance!
*A living dog is better than a dead lion, Your BREATHE connotes HOPE.
* Freedom is more mental than physical.
* What you have some people's prayer point, use it maximally
* Always and Always appreciate the gift of life.
I wish I could type all that transpired, but my emotions fails me!
I would advice everyone reading this "Visit a prison once in your lifetime"
Thank you CCN for this opportunity!
